Hey, not sure if you are still stuck on this but keep trying. I used this same technique and it pulled him all the way across the first two times but on the third time it worked.
The closest I got was 3/4 beaten, but he doubles his hits and speed and I am out of magic…hence I didn’t (too much) mind doing this easy cheese…I save myself literally hours or days…
Thank God. 30 seconds and done spent hours ragging. I don't understand why every soulsborne game has a boss like this. Massively disproportionately difficult from the rest of the game. Loose items between boss runs so you really only have a limited number of tries at any one strategy before you have switch tactics and cycle continued until you have nothing left. Really terrible game design.
I don't get how people found this boss anymore difficult that any that came before. The only difficult boss in the game is the last and that's only because it goes on for so long.

Still works, just had to target lock him and walk backwards with target lock engaged to make the fire bolt hit from across the bridge. Thanks! 👏

Honestly, I beat this boss the "right" way and it wasn't all that hard comparatively. The Siege Engine gave me a LOT more trouble.
it is hard fairly. don't lump stupid accusations on it. instead go and learn it.
