This game is similar to star wars squadrons in the way that its a really good game for what it is, but gets next to no content because it's not a cash grab for investors.
And there are lessons to be learned from Squadrons: the ship upgrades were a grind, teams were larger but this meant spending a lot of time waiting for a game and pc players ruining the cross play experience.
The main reason to play this game is the online where the game is firing all cylinders, a good team knows to bludger the opposing seekers skull in to stop the snitch catch
Because if ea made it now. It would have a million microtransactions for cosmetic items. An ultimate team mode where they have more microtransactions and would be a £70 game.
xDDDDDD IGN makes very good points when reviewing, they always talk about the bad and good. Their reviews are very much worth watching, just ignore the final score. The final score is basically a meme.
Most top sports games today have things to do outside of just playing the sport, like they have some sort of story or detailed campaign mode that adds to the game. It's a big part of the sports game market today and it's worth mentioning if a game doesn't have it or does a bad job of it.

This is a lie. This isn't even a half truth. There is no depth. There is no skill based gameplay. Every action button feels mushy and inconsistent. The game has upgradable items which convinces simpletons that they are improving at the game when in reality they are just playing more. The way he chases the snitch is the only way you can catch the snitch, it's a drifting and boosting minigame, you might feel like you're doing better but you just have a better broom because there's no special skill to it.
I remember quidditch on the GBA. Depending on how many points you scored, you got a certain amount of boost in the last race for the snitch. Catching the snitch would give an insane amount of points so usually you won right there. I found those rules more logic. But this game is really well done. Catching the snitch twice feels weird but I can’t complain 😅

Same and it's funny because The books also had Victor Krum who is arguably the best seeker in the world and who Harry is clearly Fanboyed about. Plus Quidditch also helped Harry having some kind of Confidence about being naturally talented in something . He was average in his academics so it made sense he would be better at sports
The game honestly sucked, idk why but it felt like it took the excitement out of flying a broom stick. It just felt very controlling and too intrusive. It just isn't fun
Within one week, steam charts dropped from 6.5k peak, to under 1000. We're in the middle of an event right now and we're only peaking in the 400's. Game is having too many server issues so people have largely moved on. Very sad and unfortunate the poor management of the game.
It's pretty fun, but the menus are bugged in the PS4/5 version of the game, and not all of the customization options are actually able to be selected, and sometimes your cursor disappears entirely

Quidditch champions is a fun game once you get the hang of the controls, basically Rocket League but in Quidditch format. Although, Quidditch World Cup 2003 is still the better game imo. The only thing Champions does better over World Cup is online multiplayer, the gameplay format is still better designed in the old game.

There's no edge of your seat epic saves, there's no setting up a crazy pass and following through with a team mate, there's no learning to flip or jump well, there's no equivalent to learning to control yourself in the air, there's no equivalent to wall passing, there's no equivalent to learning positioning. Nothing about this game is like rocket league except for the fact it presents itself as a 3v3 sport. The actual quality of the gameplay are worlds apart.
They probably planned to put it in Hogwarts Legacy. They saw the amount of work and changed theirs minds. They decided to make a standalone and ask fans for more money. They said that it was technically impossible in Hogwarts Legacy... Without me.
This just needed to be part of the next Hogwarts open world game. Allowing multiplayer matches as well as multiple dueling system and co-op. Win points to buy cosmetics and other in game items. Hell…there is potential for a decent life service game if done right. So there’s actually something to do when you’re done playing quidditch

World Cup has aged very well but it's an early 2000s game, quite janky at times so going back 20 years later can be jarring.
