Batman is confronted with a hidden face from the past - it’s the return of the vigilante Red Hood who appears to be Batman’s one-time partner Jason Todd, the same Jason Todd that died many years ago. But the Red Hood’s violent ways pit him against the Dark Knight in his hunt for the very person responsible for his death: The Joker.

True, I don't care what anyone says, John DiMaggio's voice acting for the Joker was phenomenal. Mark Hamill will always be the voice of the Joker, but John put a dash more of a darker psychotic voice to Joker. That and thinking how hilarious it would be to watch John have fun and do Bender's voice and personality as the Joker. How hilarious would it be to have Billy West do Jason's voice as Fry?

I know he's a little old now but I think they could pull something off to make it work.

He found a way to save both their lives. Eventually Batman gets thru to Jason where he agrees not to kill but Jason eventually crosses that line again. I think it was smart to write the story this way because both Dick and Jason represent what Batman could've been. Dick left because he had the heart Batman didn't have and yet Jason left because he could be heartless like batman never was. It's very good storytelling

Jason: has the Joker captured and is gonna kill him.
Batman: “I won’t let you kill him!”
      Jason: Drops “bomb” on Blüdhaven
Batman: “DICK! Jason, I have to go save him!”
Jason: Threatens to kill the Joker if Batman leaves to save Dick
Batman: stays to save the love of his life...
Jason: holds a gun to Jokers head while giving one to Batman telling his father to kill him or the Joker dies.
Batman: “hmmm” Throws Batarang at his sons neck to save the Joker....
      Jason: “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!”
(Deadass, what the actual fuck. I don’t wanna hear the comments saying, “wElL bAtmAn DiDn’T gO tO sAvE dIcK bEcAuSe ThE bOmB wOuLd HaVe AlrEaDy KiLlEd hIm!” Batman was 110% about to leave the fight to go and “save” Dick until Jason mentioned that if he left, his hubby was gonna die. Also really Batman, you proceed to throw a Batarang INTO Jason’s neck to save your hubby.... Batman is just as mentally fucked up as the people he locks up!
(My second fav Batman and Red Hood comic is the one when Red Hood unmasked himself and shot The Penguin in the face on camera because The Penguin had practically caused his fathers death AND TO prove to Gotham (and Bruce) that he doesn’t give a fuck. Bruce then tracks down Jason and beats him harder than he’s ever beat the Joker. Jason even makes a comment about this and Bruce proceeds to beat him even harder. The beating gets so bad that Jason’s body is nearly to broken to move. Makes ya really wonder, “hmm so Bruce hardly retaliated when the Joker beat his *son* to a pulp and killed him. THEN, he proceeds beat the same *son* in a very similar manor because he killed a ruthless, murderous, evil crime lord?”....Bruce is *TOTALLY* in the right here! He beat his son harder than he beat his sons murderer because he didn’t want a criminal to die.... I can’t believe Bruce has the audacity to believe he’s the sane one out of the two of them.)

Batman is a psycho. He doesn't want to cross the line, somewhat understandable. But Red Hood already crossed the line and by a lot. So Batman freaking cuts open his neck to stop him from murdering a super serial killer. Its not about some metaphorical lines, its about Batman choosing Joker over Red Hood. That, or bad writing.

P L I think the movie explained this battle much better, in the movie SPOILERS
Batman said no to killing joker with the gun and drops it and walks away. Jason becomes furious and tries to shoot Batman in which Batman reacts by throwing a baterang in the hole of Jason's gun causing a chain reaction, hurting Jason's hand causing Jason to drop the gun. Jason then activated the bomb and Batman grabs Jason and swings out the window with jason, leaving joker to explode (ofc joker lives tho). the movie gave Batman more realistic decisions

It's not bad writing. Nothing of this story is bad, it's all perfect if you ask me. and not all comics are like this. It's not Batman choosing Joker either, it's Batman standing by his own morality. He'd also most likely believe he failed his parents if he killed too.

I think it's a good story, but it played out better in the movie. The movie was a lot more simplified and that's not a bad thing. Diegoeduardo PR which makes sense, since his real Father was a terrible human being and Batman wasn't a good replacement. This of course depends on which comic you read, but in several Batman didn't treat Jason as a father should treat his son. So, yeah...

    2. it's so messed up how the fans voted for Jason to die. he resorted to killing which is stupid and wrong and sad because he was super cool
    3. Is Dick Grayson alive?!

8:24 this is what many people do not seem to understand when they say Batman should kill the Joker, they ARE telling him to kill the others, if he killed once it'd be easier to do it again, if he made an exception for the Joker, then why not others, he'd become a mass murderer, no better than the villains, and at that point doesn't he deserve to die too? if they deserve to die because they're murderers then why doesn't he? it's not just one exception, if he killed the Joker he'd become just like him, both of them know that, that's why the Joker wants him to break that rule, and Batman refuses to.

Not killing your enemies is one thing, but hurting friends to save them ?!?! & for what ? so that the Joker can take more innocent lives ? If your moral compass is so far up your ass, fine. leave it be, but don't stop others from doing what's right ! RESPECT: REDHOOD
