I absolutely adored fighting on the Creek. You always heard patrols before you saw them making it stupidly easy to sneak around them, and I will never not get tired of slipping into a base undetected, dropping a 380 right into the middle of it and disappearing back into the jungle like a ghost before they had any idea what was happening
3:18 For me, I'm a veteran Crawler. I've been fighting the bots for so long that I literally cannot fight the bugs. My muscle memory is completely fucked, and I'm just unfamiliar with anti-bug weapons
Kip, you really need to see the random CSGO Bullshitteries now just to see Soviet's grenade antics. Also, you really need to see more of Soviet's interactions with his "friend" Cyanide. Be warned, though, the earlier you go in his videos, the less of a filter he and his friends have over the things they say.
I HIGHLY recommend checking out Soviet Womble's Rising Storm 2 and Holdfast series'. They're some of my favorites, probably because I just think it's funny when Soviet and his friends turn relatively authentic historical military shooters into dumb memes.
When i play against the terminds i feel like the main protagonist of a starship troopers movie When i plat against bots i feel like im a background extra in a terminator mocie who dies at the start of the movie
I preferred bots because it was less frustrating, and felt like you weren’t as helpless against the enemies summoning reinforcements as I was against the bugs. It felt like _any_ bug could suddenly let out that annoying screech from anywhere, at which point you’re getting swarmed unless you had one of your strategems ALWAYS reserved for that poison cloud strike, and even then, it felt very ineffective. For the bots, it wasn’t necessarily that it was EASIER to shoot the one that was going to launch a flare, but there were DOZENS of options you can take on a mission to shoot down the enemy dropships when they arrived. Instead of the bugs, where your only option was “Bite the pillow and take it whether you like it or not”😑. It was VERY frustrating dealing with swarms of enemies, and un-preventable reinforcements. But there’s a reason everything I said above was in the past tense, because of everything that’s been going on, I haven’t played the game in quite awhile and I don’t plan on picking it up again. The constant nerfs, toxic power-tripping community managers and Discord mods, it’s just not something I wanna be a part of anymore.
oh you like bugs more? how does it feel to be wrong? *cracks beer* and no, they have not fixed the scope on the antimatter rifle. I still die mad every night about it...
I love fighting both, but I have found that you need to reverse your fighting styles for both. For the bugs, I have found extreme aggression works best but if you try that with the bots, they're going to take your lunch money. Inversely, if try to think your way through a bot field with limited amounts of extreme aggression, but try that with the bugs, you become lunch. I also take the flame thrower whenever possible, so I am part of, if not the whole, problem.
Found out through this video that he's doing another video essay on the Forest again... he said he wouldn't do anymore cuz his bullshittery backlog is backed tf UP! Also less stressful and more fun to edit and stuff. Very surprised he went back on that.
I don't mind the "bug" with the reticles not being lined up with the barrel, because that's how guns work. When you look down a scope in real life, it doesn't magically give you the view from the barrel, it gives you the view slightly ABOVE the barrel. What I do mind is the plethora of nerfs that has made my friend uninterested in playing, because I only enjoy playing alongside them.
Hearing kip's unhinged demonic laughter is music to my ears! ps: i am the dude with the arc thrower. No matter how hard you try to not kill your team mates THERE ALWAYS ONE diving in behind of the charger you want to kill and getting himself cooked.
Hey kip, as a veteran bot player heres all you need to know about dealing with bots. If tour weapon can hurt them, any amount of fire you land on them will make them heaitate of miss shooting you directly unless it is a devastator releasing a barrage or a hulk that has spotted you. Impact grenades can deal with most medium enemies with a single explosion. If you are not comfortable with heavy weapons on bots always remember, the laser canon can take out a gunship by hitting the thruster, a hulk by hitting the head or the heat aink in the back, or the exhaust vents for most tanks and emplacements. It cant shoot down transport ships or factory walkers. Unlike terminids, its better to attack bots with 2 man cells. If you bunch up all reinforcements flood one spot but if you spread out the reinforcements can never fully overwhelm you. And usually if one person goes down you can call them in quickly before the other group loses a man as the eay the enemies come in will stagger between the groups. Always try to role with 2 explosice and 2 precision weapons. The kaser cannon a ove is a orecision weapon, but tou can also go with the auto cannon, railgun, or sniper rifle. The explosive can hit transports and grouos and the orecision can knock out heavier targets with less attacks. The ideal ordinance is rhe orecision strike, rhe orbital rail cannon, the eagle rocket pods or air strike, the orbital laser or the shock or smoke strike. The 120 and 380 barrages are great to annihilate large bases and side objectives. Using the shield projector can help guard hellbombs so they dont detonate prematurely or get destroyed. The ballistic shield used ro be azing but a current bug makes it registwr as an object and if struck by a rocket, the shield will be pushed into tou and kill you instantly to impact damage so until oatched dont go for it. Any armor is idwal but for bot birgins its safer to go with medium or heavy armor woth blast resistancw or something that has a 50% chance to make you not die on lethal damage.
Here is the thing about bots. They are for the most part blind. I regularly play on 7 and run right past them. They are also about quick removal. You cannot stay in one place fighting them forever they will grind you down. Skill takes a huge part in their combat because with a anti materiel stratagem you can kill so much. Devastators, aa guns, dreadnaughts, tanks even. More importantly primaries for bots are key because you need to wipe out what's there quick. I use the countersniper and adjudicator. The adjudicator may chew through ammo but it also chews through low level bots. As for the countersniper 1 shot to the head for devastators kills them. I for the most part use the impact nades for the chicken walkers and tanks with other stratagems for wiping bases. Most importantly use cover and peek out as little as you can to kill bots.
500KG may be the meme weapon, but if you absolutely need something destroyed then there is nothing better then the Orbital Precision Strike (OPS). OPS fires a 380mm shell from the Super Destroyer to where ever you want it every 90s.
You can one shot the factory strider with 500kg, or at least you used to be able to. However it did require you landing the bomb directly on the walkers back or head rather than it landing under it.
btw. General piece of advice for newer players, I see this way to much, rebind your stratagem buttons. by default it's set to WASD but that means you have to stay still while calling them in, I cannot tell you how detrimental that is
@@KipReacts I think that you not playing The Forest would be interesting to see what your thoughts are about what he covers as it’s not just the story of The Forest. Knowing about The Forest or not knowing about it won’t change much as it’s still a very interesting and thought provoking video.
