    I am working on these right now--your instructions are amazing! Do you find these slippery? Have you sewn an insole to the bottom before?

      It depends on the yarn. Some people have put a rubber paint on the sole. I like it just like this. They are definitely for indoors. 😊Enjoy making the converse.

    I made a pair of these type house shoes but the pattern called for crocheting thread instead of yarn for the soles. it was a wonderful pattern and lasted quite a long time but I’ve lost the pattern has anyone come across a pattern like that please let me know if you have thanks

    Love this pattern. I need to know something, though. I'm a lady and am wanting to make a pair of slippers for myself. I have wide feet at my bunion area and usually wear a size 8 - 8.5 W in tennis shoes. What size sole do you recommend or think I should crochet for my slippers? I think I can easily adapt the pattern to make the top and sides of the slippers, NP. TYSM for sharing this video with us . And, I appreciate your help and advice. 🙂

    I'm starting with 2 strands of yarn held together. Hopefully this will give me a man's size 14. (That would be my idea of an extra large and it makes for a warmer and thicker, finished project.)

    There seems to be a problem with the stitch count in round 6. Shouldn't it be 31 sc down the side instead of 29 to get to a total of 96 stitches?

    Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial! Is there a way to alter the pattern, or do you have another pattern available for the opposite shoe? Or do you just turn it over and make one side the sole having facing with the wrong side out?

      One pattern for both feet. Once you make the slippers it will shape to your correct foot. 😃

    These are wonderful. My only complaint is you say use "any yarn" but the average worsted weight and G hook comes out to 9" just for round one and I checked gauge. We need more accurate yarn guidance. Are you using light worsted?

      @@StephanieZed I used Caron One Pound and it worked much better as it's 14 SC per 4" gauge swatch instead of Red Heart Super Saver which is only 12. Maybe suggest yarn with 14-16 SC per 4" gauge swatch? That info is uniformly on yarn wrappers. I LOVE how it turned out! Thanks

    You said we need a G hook, then you said a 4.5 mm hook. A G is 4.25mm. I used the 4.5 and my extra large measures 12" before the extra row of straight singles...I guess I'll try the G hook and see if it comes out the 10.5 to 11"

    In the last increase round, why do you place 29 sc up one side and 31 sc down the other, instead if 30 sc on each side?

      When crocheting in the round the stitches shift, so I adjusted it to keep symmetrical.

      Elilla Medina Mascuñana Hi. For a black sole, trim and star, you really do not need that much. Start with a 200 gram ball of yarn. The white part of the sides, shoe laces and circle of the star, you will only need about 1/2ball of yarn. The main colour, and tongue, start with a full ball as well. 😊 🧶

    What kind of yarn can i use? Can we wear this shoe at outdoor area?

      I just use 100% acrylic yarn. I would double the yarn for the sole to wear them outside, but would not recommend. I know there are some videos out there that attach the crochet sole to a flip flop sole. Then your slippers will last a long time. :)

    Ok, so I think I'm a little slow here. If you aren't doing a round 7, would you ignore the slip stitch and do the invisible join instead? I think think that's what I'm supposed to do, but I want to make sure! Thank you for your wonderful tutorial.

    I’m a little frustrated because I’ve done this four times and had to undo it multiple times because I’m not getting 64 stitches for round one am I doing something wrong

      Hi.
      Chain 30
      In second chain from hook put 2 Single Crochet in one stitch.
      18 Sc
      4 Hdc
      5 Dc
      7 Dc in the last chain
      5 Dc - be very careful not to miss the first space.
      4 Hdc
      18 Sc
      1 Sc in the beginning stitch.
      This equals 64 Stitches.

      You will have to do a bit of adjusting or you can try to double the yarn on the xlarge pattern. It is good for a thicker sole as well.

      You could always replace the side stitches with HDC instead of SC.

      For the top portion and tongue colour, one small ball, 150-200 grams is enough.

      Try using a heavier weight yarn or even double up on a regular yarn, especially for the sole.

      Xl increase round after video ended
      After slip sets to join
      CH 1 HDC in same STS
      HDC in next 2 STS
      2 HDC in next STS
      HDC in next 30 STS
      2 HDC in next STS
      HDC in next 10 STS
      2 HDC in next STS
      HDC in next 10 STS
      2 HDC in next STS
      HDC in next 29-30 STS
      (Till 3 STS remaining)
      2 HDC in next STS
      1 HDC in remaking STS
      SLP STS to join.
      Tie off hide tails.
      Optional to do one SC all the way around.

    I followed the video exactly but my measurements were not correct. My first round was only 6 in/15 cm and my final sole was 8 in/20 cm. Is there an extension of the pattern to get to the size I want? Thank you.

    I followed your instructions meticulously, but my size when finished was bigger than yours. Yours measured 10 1/2" mine measured 13" I used Read Heart Super Saver yarn. I used size G, Boye hook. 4.25 mm

      You would probably have to do an increase around the toe and heel. Most slippers will stretch. The other thing to try would be to double your yarn for the sole. This would also make it slightly bigger and more durable.

      I also looked on a sizing chart and it says Size 14 mens is about 11.7 inches in length. I hope this helps.
