Actually the last polls show Chega losing percentage points. But polls in Portugal are fairly unreliable anyway: they have huge statistical errors associated (like 4%) due to their small sample size.
Well, they have more than doubled their percentage support compared to the last election. In 2022 they got 7.2% and this time it is close to 19% according to the exit polls.
I'm still waiting for the western left wing to understand that valid right wing opinion exists. Until that moment, right wing will keep gaining momentum.
That guy saying that the party goes against people of color, needs to better inform himself and try to see what Chega wants, First Chega have in its ranks, different races and genders, then Chega is not against having a melting pot of races and genders, what Chega wants is to create a proper emigration policy where all races and genders in Portugal may leave in a sustainable way... but since they are now labeled as far right, well, things get distorted. They are not the best party and have their faults, but i dare anybody to tell me a party that dont lie, dont steal and dont do promises that after they dont keep.
It is not only the right parties who are populists. All others use exactly the same style but with different topics ("We Support the Current Thing"). Also i think it should be pointed out that the right parties are not only succesful because they are able to use modern technologies and media. They are successful because they take all the issues that are being created by the other parties and point them out while everyone is just screaming "stop racism" but still keeps doing absolutly nothing against those issues. It's happening all over Europe. Europe is beautiful because we have many different cultures worth to prevent each for it's own. But all our politicians are trying to do is to make Europe into Africa or even worse the Middle East. You think it's not true? Well let's go to whatever bigger City in Europe and i will be able to show you at least one Area where you will not find any local people. Try that anywhere else in the World. Impossible.

Portugal has a strong socialist influence, it is the most economically left leaning country in Western Europe, the country's own CONSTITUTION says the state should pursue a socialist society. The big left wing party in Portugal is literally called SOCIALIST PARTY. I don't think the people in the comments are delusional for being afraid or mad at socialism, even if the country is not a proper 'socialist proletariat dictatorship'.

And as terrible as those rulers are (and they ARE terrible) they still don't don't state sponsor medical procedures for minors to mutilate their bodies to "correct gender".
China is communism which is actually far left…North Korea ain’t even a democracy it’s a straightforward dictatorship and Russia is a corrupted autocratic democracy where some stuff is democratic but the spinal chord of the goverment is so far corrupted that leads to autocracy. Social democracy is center right while socialists are center left you also have liberalism not to be confused with either the left or right they have aspects from both and other new aspects. For me a conjunction of social democrat and liberalism is the best approach and I hate socialism it’s ruins economies. Government regulation should exist but not to a complex and stressful level that would restrict economic freedom, productivity and prosperity.

No, they mean far right, there’s about 2 or 3 communist countries right now, stop being so brainwashed please
Exactly. Typical strawman tactic.
They mean anything that is against freedom and liberty, when all know how those parties restrict personal freedoms almost immediately after gaining power.
@@lores996 what constitutional right was removed from you by any right-winged party?
I wish Portugal the best in reclaiming their amazing country from the illegals. Greetings from the USA 🇺🇸
Good. About time Countries started putting the rights and needs of their own people first. Britain take note .
India, China and Russia had been far right for the past 10 years 😅
China and Russia are ruled by authoritarian oligarchs, repressing liberties and freedoms. India is going the same way especially with radicalisation of induism
China has been far left for almost 100 years. They call their political system “Socialism with chinese characteristics”
China is comunist and Rússia is kind of the same... Thats why west mídia dont give a dam
is it radical to want to preserve your own culture and reduce illegal immigration? I would not class Chega as "radicals"
No, I'm not brazilian or african, I'm an old realist portuguese man born in Alfredo da Costa in the 60s.
Our people are uninspired, soulless and apathetic. Only football brings them out of the existencial comma.
WE STAND FOR 🇵🇹 PORTUGAL!
ANDRE VENTURA @ CHEGA PARTY 🇵🇹 🇧🇷 🌎 !!
It’s not far right… PS is left… PSD is center, maybe touching a left nowadays. Chega is only right…
Someone mention immigration === far right...
Not really. EU and other normal people discuss it too. They just don't orbit immigration as if it was the centre of the political universe.
@@Magneticvortex-kk4gb"discuss" and do nothing. Millions of unwanted people coming to Europe.
Definitely not far-right.
Here we go again. DW, at one point you made a report from Hungary calling classical architecture "far-right". Perhaps you should stop throwing slander labels around?
Chega is far from being a far-right party. What is really extremist here is this channel. Go CHEGA!!! 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
Viva Chega❤❤❤❤
Greetings from Portugal...Originally from Texas...Been a legal resident here since 2016. Lived, traveled and worked in over 42 countries around the world...I have traveled to every part of this beautiful country...Met and talked with all kinds of people with different backgrounds...Here is the reality vs. fiction that the media will not discuss...Portugal has been plagued by corruption for a very long time...Many Portuguese left for places like Belgium, Canada, France, Switzerland, and the U.S. to name a few...This was before the age of Golden Visas and Tourism highs pre-scandemic...I hike all over the country...You want to know how many immigrants are working in construction, and on farms from fruit to wine, and do you want to know where they are coming from...Former Colonies, like Angola, India and etc. Who´s behind this...ummmmm Ole Joao...What are the wages in Portugal for normal Portuguese Citizens...Doctors, Firefighters, Police and etc. Now tell me the Salaries of those who have ran C.P. Combio and or TAP to name a few...The Government together with Big Business, Central Banks, and the Connected Classes have sold you out...They do not represent you, they represent the E.U. and ECB, period...Predatory behavior is the business model...Not only against their very own citizens, but the folks coming here to do the work that the Portuguese do not want to do...Nothing new in history...Just take a look at the U.S. Mexico border as I type this message...It´s not that the Portuguese are not educated enough, there are very good schools, here...They have a history of doing the same things over and over again, and expecting different results. This is called Insanity...Perhaps it comes from Nobel Prize winner António Egas Moniz, of frontal lobotomy fame, no? There is no investment in the future with Cork, Paper and Tourism, Wine...wink...wink...being at the head of the line...Fabrica over Football is what is needed in Portugal...and I´m not talking AutoEuropa in Palmela where you pay minimal Salaries that help Ol´ VW, not Portugal...You must Limpa corruption from the system and put Portuguese Citizens first across the board...If that means selling a few homes, and cars, and a drop in Salary to do so...So be it...If not...Expect a Haiti type response from the locals, because Carnations are not going to cut it...Boa Sorte...😉👌
Is it far right to be against sterilization of children?
I'm still waiting for the western left wing to understand that valid right wing opinion exists. Until that moment, right wing will keep gaining momentum.
Chega being far-right isn't even a discussion, far right parties are not allowed under the Portuguese Constitution period.
Congratulations to chega 🇬🇷❤️🇵🇹
Why is it always described as far right? You never here right wing party anymore.
It's a scare tactic, left demonise anyone who doesn't follow leftist ideology.
That's their strawman tactic. Typical from leftists.
So disheartening to see that you people are ok with racists in office smh
How is it racist?
Chega is not far right
That guy saying that the party goes against people of color, needs to better inform himself and try to see what Chega wants, First Chega have in its ranks, different races and genders, then Chega is not against having a melting pot of races and genders, what Chega wants is to create a proper emigration policy where all races and genders in Portugal may leave in a sustainable way... but since they are now labeled as far right, well, things get distorted. They are not the best party and have their faults, but i dare anybody to tell me a party that dont lie, dont steal and dont do promises that after they dont keep.
VIVA PORTUGAL IRMÃO DE ESPAÑA
Not calling civic nationalist "far-right": challenge impossible!
Patriots not far-right!
Why far right? It's the only right party in Portugal represented in the parliament.
Macedonia supports Chega! Portugal for the Portuguese 🇲🇰🤝🏻🇵🇹
Impossible.
And which are those issues?
You see the same in Brazil and the US. Its not just Europe.
@@gaborrajnai6213Simplified: Uncontrolled Mass Imigration, High Energy Prices, Missing Living Space in CIties, Very High Unemployment Rates, Deindustrialization, Lack of Free Speech, Massive Initiative to invade and control Private Space (a thing one would expect from Right parties but is practised by the Left every day), not to forget Corruption and so on and on. Many Issues are even connected to each other.
@@zemrpereiraThanks for pointing this out.
The journalist typed the title of this video using both hands: the left, and the f4r right one. Good job!
Why is comment section obsessed with communism albeit it's not mentioned in the video, are these ones that type of people who call anything they don't understand "communist/socialist" and get satisfaction?
Portugal has a strong socialist influence, it is the most economically left leaning country in Western Europe, the country's own CONSTITUTION says the state should pursue a socialist society.
The big left wing party in Portugal is literally called SOCIALIST PARTY. I don't think the people in the comments are delusional for being afraid or mad at socialism, even if the country is not a proper 'socialist proletariat dictatorship'.
People everywhere are SO excited to live under a fascist regime.
They see Russia, they see North Korea, they see China and they go: "I want THAT for me and my kids."
Fascism is a far left movement and all the countries you wrote are communist
And it's funny that we're celebrating the 50th year of the ending of a fascist regime in our country.
China is completely different from North Korea
I have visited there
It’s more advanced than Russia and nk and even usa
Excellent news . All power to the right everywhere. Not ' Far Right', just right.
