    A nice Rubicon wasted rubber and time on a trucker who didn't have a power divider, lockers, chains, OR common sense.

      100% agree. If something get broken in the jeep is his own. And yes even if the truck has inter-axle locker and diff locks.... helps a lot if the actual driver knows how to use them. Most of the time simply they don't have a clue.

    All kinds of money on a Rubicon ,but we cheaped out not buying a winch for such purposes.It worked great after burning a trench in the ice to reach pavement.That's why you carry a bag of salt or sand with you.

    • @masterjeem
      @masterjeem  2 года назад

      I don't think that they make a 70,000lb winch and that's a lot of snatch blocks. A recovery strap and both lockers engaged certainly did the job. You're not very well versed with vehicle recovery, are you? Anyways, even with the Warn winch I currently have on the Jeep, I'd still use the strap for this.

    • @MrBluecollar8
      @MrBluecollar8 2 года назад +1

      @@masterjeem Are you kidding me?57 year old, Born and bred Western New Yorker.That big truck is 4x the weight of the Rubicon.1 snatch block would work with some decent wheel chocks.The steady pulling from the winch is more productive than spinning your wheels till you hit pavement.The semi just needed enough to get it up out of the soft shoulder.I worked for a heavy duty towing outfit in the 70s.Snow tires are not just about meaty tread. They are made of a softer rubber that helps give you traction.Spinning your tires and heating them up,just hardens the rubber.The Rubicon didn't need or does it have 70,000lbs of force to get that truck moving once it burned through the ice to get to pavement.Typical "I'm a truck man" response.I was pulling cars and trucks out of snowbanks since the Blizzard of '77.Why would you spend a ton of money on a vehicle like that, to use it like that, and not spend a few more bucks on a winch that makes it safer and easier all the way around.My stepfather was an owner operator.I grew up and worked on tractor trailers and have pulled a few out of deeper snow and ditches than that with limited equipment.And anybody who lives and travels in these conditions knows enough to have a blanket,strap or chain,shovel and some salt or sand on hand.And jumpers.You want to play with your truck like that then set it up the proper way.
