I'm 64 I don't want a fist fight. I carry OC gel. In the open I can walk away. We got a problem with panhandlers Coming up to ya at your car. So I might or might not have my car door open. I got a liffted jeep which is hard to get into with out a vagrent menacing me. But then I can use that OC gel at the slightest provocation. I don't have a grand to spend in a live training class that would tire me out in 3 minutes. So what do I do? I also carry a pistol, vagrents carry knives. But their most likely to scrap fighters.
There have been many editions of FM 21-150, from the 1940s/1950s until now. The Modern Army Combatives update was published in 2002. Matt Larsen was indeed the lead, but he wasn’t the only one. When I went to level 1 instructor training at Fort Benning, Larsen was still in uniform and teaching, at least my class. But he wasn’t alone. There was a whole team of NCOs there that he lead. Having written manuals for another part of the Army, that too is a team effort. And none of the manuals had any authors except “HQDA.” The combatives manual gave contact/comment info as basically the infantry school.
This is not a criticism, just what jumps out at me, but the most important thing in a self defense situation it seems to me would be to shave your beard! it's like having long hair or earrings! apart from this "detail" thank you for your advice, good job.
What's one self-defense skill you think everyone should learn?
Jiu Jitsu!
Jujitsu is a sport @@HUNTERSADVANTAGE
Legalese
Fencing and other sword based combat
The concept of taking your opponent's center. Invade it, displace them, and own it.
Step one: have a beard
Step two: maintain said beard
Step three: destroy enemies with the power of the beard.
Pat and Iako. Two experts on violence 💪🇺🇸
These are great for everyone to know
Iako is the man.
I'd like to see this play out a little further. Like maybe Iako could do these moves at full speed and see how well Pat's face can absorb a punch
It’s a very punchable face!
Lets see you take that punch.
Let’s these 2 spar some!!

Step 1: be huge
Check!
I'll be one
Okay but I want to know when did Pat start wrestling?
I thought Matt Larsen wrote the book (MACP)??? Or Greg Thompson (SOCP)???

Matt Larsen is legend!
How do you hurt the aggressor before he hurts you? I don't want to fight. I want to go home.
Be aware.
Be fast.
Be commited.
Where is Kid Peligro??? 😂
Only those who know, know!
Do tattoos help you fight better
