Noiseheads - High School Reunion (Albini Rough Mix)

In June 2021, we had the honor and privilege of working with Steve Albini. This is an unreleased track from that session.
I wanted to share this rough mix from our time with him because despite it being nearly 3 years since we worked together, this particular track hadn't be released because I ultimately wasn't satisfied with it.
As artists, we are cursed with the tendency to overwork the dough until it no longer resembles what we originally set out to make. We strive for perfection to the point of no return in some cases with this being a prime example: I wanted to redo the guitars. I wanted to add overdubs, I wanted a million harmonies, I was determined to tweak the f*&k out of it until I thought it was perfect.
Now that Steve has unexpectedly left us, I’m reminded that our time here isn't guaranteed and in life, there are no redos or second takes.
So I felt compelled to share this one moment in time we captured with him in honor of everything he stood for.
