Agreed. I don't have any new consoles, but all of my friends have PS4s and when I go to their house and play games I absolutely HATE it. I don't like the UI or controller at all. I own a PS2, Xbox 360, and PS3 and I hardly ever played my PS3 when I first got it. I only started playing it when I got Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5 because they're exclusives, and I played games that I got as gifts and that was pretty much it. I love(d) my 360 though and I really want a One.

Last generation, I owned a Wii and Xbox 360 (mostly for the kinect and GTA 5). This gen, I decided to just get a WiiU and PC. Basically all PS4 and Xbox games are on PC. Nintendo is smart and makes all their games exclusively for their console. I can say with confidence that if you don't have a WiiU, you are missing out this generation.

***** Kinect hasn't been used very well for actual gaming experiences, and most of the titles heavily promoted by Microsoft turned out to be pretty bad, so that's why they pulled the plug on it. I've seen very little exclusive games on the xbox that will convince me to buy their new system, probably because their general marketing strategy since 2009 has taken a huge nosedive in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator. PS4 will get more exclusives over time, so that along with Wii U hopefully should be a good combo.
The only downside for me is that you have to be dedicated and accept that you will only play nintendo games for this system. As in, if you're okay without playing any 3rd party games at all, then this system is great.
This is true. Smash Bros U and Mario Kart 8 are astoundingly beautiful on the Wii U, while Black Ops 2 and Arkham City run mediocre (But the Arkham City experience with the Game Pad was much more fun) And plus, most Nintendo games are better than third party support anyway.

I don't want to admit this but... He's right. Nintendo can't compete in the hardware department, but tbh I don't care about that (cause I own a pc too). Of course there are great games for ps4 like destiny, the last of us... but imo nothing can compete with the creativity of games like Mario kart, smash bros, bayonetta 2, wonderful 101, kirby and the rainbow curse and a lot more. Nintendo really knows how to make games. Even newest titles like splatoon look promising.

Wii U is an amazing console. Who needs third party when you have Nintendo's best games ever. Smash Wii U is the best in the series, MK8 is the best kart racer I've ever played, 3DW is in competition only with Galaxy for best 3D Mario, Nintendo Land is one of the best party games I've ever played, DK Tropical Freeze puts other 2D platformers to shame. Then there's other great games I haven't even gotten to yet, like Pikmin 3 and Wind Waker, plus an all-new upcoming Zelda that looks amazing and a new IP in the form of Splatoon that looks awesome compared to all other the drab shooters nowadays. Sony and Microsoft fanboys can fight over specs and features all day, but in the end it's all about the games, and nobody beats Nintendo's quality and variety.
I do? By large Nintendo has only produced about 5 titles over the course of the Wii and Wii U that i've cared about. After owning dozens of games on each of the previous Nintendo consoles thats pretty bad for me. However on the other side I have plenty of games to play on the other consoles and I have a great time doing so. I really hope that one day Nintendo will create a non gimmicky platform with titles that i'll love again.
While the Wii U does have the best first party support, it still needs third party support because it shows that game developers aren't even confident to put games on Wii U so why should consumers be? One of my favorite experiences with the Wii U gamepad was lying on my bed playing Deus Ex Human Revolution while 2 of my brothers were forging in Halo 4. You could play Deus Ex with just the gamepad.

Honestly, I've liked Nintendo for a long time. When I was a kid, I was never a PlayStation fan until when I was 17 in 2015 when I got my PS4. Eventually I started loving PlayStation and I still like Nintendo too. I think I'm more of a Nintendo and Sony nerd instead of a Microsoft XBOX fan.

I'm sorry, can you point me towards a link to download Mario 3D World, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Smash Bros, Infamous, God of War, Forza, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm and Red Dead Redemption for my PC? A system isn't defined by its hardware. It's defined by it's games. PC has a long shot of being the top system solely because of the games. In the last decade, PC has taken a back seat to the consoles as a priority for developers. PC always gets the shit end of the stick due to lazy ports from developers. It's games are always just horribly optimized. I'm tired of this "war" and everyone who thinks having the best hardware is the way to win it.
God what a powerhouse those two together would have been. People keep ranting about how Nintendo must stay kid friendly, but that's not true at all. My first system from them was a Super Nintendo and there was plenty of more mature titles on it. Mature as in higher levels of story development and content, not so much inane gore and violence. The Nintendo needs the likes of Breath of Fire and Winback back. They need more diversity in their titles instead of a hundred more Mario titles. Hell Kerby is just getting a game now after what? Three years? Even the older loved Nintendo icons are sitting around covered in dust. Thank God Star Fox is coming back, but seriously more diversity please Nintendo.
ProphitDesigns Very good point and I fully agree! I'm just tired of hearing the XBox and PS have better hardware. I will say though the the library of games on PC is endless and there are emulators for almost every console (yet to see a PS4 one) You can also use every controller that comes to mind, even some I would rather not talk about..., also to answer your question the pirates bay has downloads for ROMs of every video game you can think of. I will not being using a console ever again because I will not pay $60+ on Live or PSNetwork and also to buy a new console in the next few years. I agree so much with the hardware side because I love playing all my Atari games up to the N64 and playstation 1 on my good old Pentium III rig while letting the real console sit in a shelf as display. (Please note I never said anything about having better hardware in my comment!) I have used almost every console and the experience was nothing great. I want to be able to us a Nintendo 64 controller when I play destiny, and a GameCube controller when I play Counter Strike. I prefer to be free when I play games and not be pulled into all the BS that the console manufactures try to shove in my face. Almost every game created up to the XBox One and PS4 and even Wii U is available on the PC you just have to be a little tech savvy in order to do so :) If someone wants to brag about there favorite console make sure to include up to the point in which you can do so because evidence and facts play a huge role on how you are going to win the war.
ProphitDesigns Best thing to get is Emulators... but IMO I don't really care for most of those games you mentioned, not my style of game play. The PC gets shitty ports because the Devs don't care. That's why I never play AAA games and mostly Indie games since they tend to run better than a AAA with a bigger budgets. It's always fun to mod game as well. Games on PC are always cheaper than Consoles. I don't like buying used games since you're not supporting the Devs. I never bought a used game before and never will. Also, PC you dont need good hardware to play most games. BTW even a GPU that is 5 years old for PC is still better than the new Consoles. I prefer PC over console, been playing on them for my whole life. Im sure other people like consoles and that's their preference. Not mine.

In my opinion the fact that wii u can't be compared to the other two major consoles is the thing that really sets it apart. Nintendo always innovates the industry in some way or another, so while they might not have the best hardware, they can keep their prices relatively low and release kickass games at launch and shortly after. Microsoft and Sony are at each other's necks trying to have the best graphics while Nintendo is trying to help gamers have a good experience, which is why their games are always wholesome, fun, and fine tuned. Graphics aren't everything people. Nintendo popularized home consoles and in my opinion they are gonna be the only one standing once these "console wars" are over.

I play Xbox at my friends, I owned all PSX up to 3 and had a DS, 3DS, Wii and now a Wii U. I also play PC. I love them all but since I am a kid I have to side to the Wii U (due to more kids games) and PC (due to the wide range of software.

Nintendo is in their own category. They don't need to compete with the PS4 or XBone. The majority of people who have PS4s, Xbones, or PCs, won't by a Wii U anyway, because they can't get past specs. Specs don't sell, good exclusive games do. Multiplats help though. Nintendo sells quality, and when the video game industry crashes for the second time, you better believe Nintendo will be there again to save the day.

Agreed. I don't have any new consoles, but all of my friends have PS4s and when I go to their house and play games I absolutely HATE it. I don't like the UI or controller at all. I own a PS2, Xbox 360, and PS3 and I hardly ever played my PS3 when I first got it. I only started playing it when I got Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5 because they're exclusives, and I played games that I got as gifts and that was pretty much it. I love(d) my 360 though and I really want a One.

Last generation, I owned a Wii and Xbox 360 (mostly for the kinect and GTA 5). This gen, I decided to just get a WiiU and PC. Basically all PS4 and Xbox games are on PC. Nintendo is smart and makes all their games exclusively for their console. I can say with confidence that if you don't have a WiiU, you are missing out this generation.

***** Kinect hasn't been used very well for actual gaming experiences, and most of the titles heavily promoted by Microsoft turned out to be pretty bad, so that's why they pulled the plug on it. I've seen very little exclusive games on the xbox that will convince me to buy their new system, probably because their general marketing strategy since 2009 has taken a huge nosedive in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator. PS4 will get more exclusives over time, so that along with Wii U hopefully should be a good combo.
The only downside for me is that you have to be dedicated and accept that you will only play nintendo games for this system. As in, if you're okay without playing any 3rd party games at all, then this system is great.

This is true. Smash Bros U and Mario Kart 8 are astoundingly beautiful on the Wii U, while Black Ops 2 and Arkham City run mediocre (But the Arkham City experience with the Game Pad was much more fun) And plus, most Nintendo games are better than third party support anyway.

I don't want to admit this but... He's right. Nintendo can't compete in the hardware department, but tbh I don't care about that (cause I own a pc too). Of course there are great games for ps4 like destiny, the last of us... but imo nothing can compete with the creativity of games like Mario kart, smash bros, bayonetta 2, wonderful 101, kirby and the rainbow curse and a lot more.

Wii U is an amazing console. Who needs third party when you have Nintendo's best games ever. Smash Wii U is the best in the series, MK8 is the best kart racer I've ever played, 3DW is in competition only with Galaxy for best 3D Mario, Nintendo Land is one of the best party games I've ever played, DK Tropical Freeze puts other 2D platformers to shame. Then there's other great games I haven't even gotten to yet, like Pikmin 3 and Wind Waker, plus an all-new upcoming Zelda that looks amazing and a new IP in the form of Splatoon that looks awesome compared to all other the drab shooters nowadays. Sony and Microsoft fanboys can fight over specs and features all day, but in the end it's all about the games, and nobody beats Nintendo's quality and variety.

I do? By large Nintendo has only produced about 5 titles over the course of the Wii and Wii U that i've cared about. After owning dozens of games on each of the previous Nintendo consoles thats pretty bad for me. However on the other side I have plenty of games to play on the other consoles and I have a great time doing so. I really hope that one day Nintendo will create a non gimmicky platform with titles that i'll love again.
While the Wii U does have the best first party support, it still needs third party support because it shows that game developers aren't even confident to put games on Wii U so why should consumers be? One of my favorite experiences with the Wii U gamepad was lying on my bed playing Deus Ex Human Revolution while 2 of my brothers were forging in Halo 4. You could play Deus Ex with just the gamepad.

I go off of experience and honestly I like Nintendo.
Honestly, I've liked Nintendo for a long time. When I was a kid, I was never a PlayStation fan until when I was 17 in 2015 when I got my PS4. Eventually I started loving PlayStation and I still like Nintendo too. I think I'm more of a Nintendo and Sony nerd instead of a Microsoft XBOX fan.

PC has a long shot of being the top system solely because of the games.
In the last decade, PC has taken a back seat to the consoles as a priority for developers. PC always gets the shit end of the stick due to lazy ports from developers. It's games are always just horribly optimized.

My first system from them was a Super Nintendo and there was plenty of more mature titles on it. Mature as in higher levels of story development and content, not so much inane gore and violence.
The Nintendo needs the likes of Breath of Fire and Winback back. They need more diversity in their titles instead of a hundred more Mario titles. Hell Kerby is just getting a game now after what? Three years? Even the older loved Nintendo icons are sitting around covered in dust. Thank God Star Fox is coming back, but seriously more diversity please Nintendo.
ProphitDesigns Very good point and I fully agree! I'm just tired of hearing the XBox and PS have better hardware. I will say though the the library of games on PC is endless and there are emulators for almost every console (yet to see a PS4 one) You can also use every controller that comes to mind, even some I would rather not talk about..., also to answer your question the pirates bay has downloads for ROMs of every video game you can think of. I will not being using a console ever again because I will not pay $60+ on Live or PSNetwork and also to buy a new console in the next few years. I agree so much with the hardware side because I love playing all my Atari games up to the N64 and playstation 1 on my good old Pentium III rig while letting the real console sit in a shelf as display. (Please note I never said anything about having better hardware in my comment!) I have used almost every console and the experience was nothing great. I want to be able to us a Nintendo 64 controller when I play destiny, and a GameCube controller when I play Counter Strike. I prefer to be free when I play games and not be pulled into all the BS that the console manufactures try to shove in my face. Almost every game created up to the XBox One and PS4 and even Wii U is available on the PC you just have to be a little tech savvy in order to do so :) If someone wants to brag about there favorite console make sure to include up to the point in which you can do so because evidence and facts play a huge role on how you are going to win the war.
ProphitDesigns Best thing to get is Emulators... but IMO I don't really care for most of those games you mentioned, not my style of game play. The PC gets shitty ports because the Devs don't care. That's why I never play AAA games and mostly Indie games since they tend to run better than a AAA with a bigger budgets. It's always fun to mod game as well. Games on PC are always cheaper than Consoles. I don't like buying used games since you're not supporting the Devs. I never bought a used game before and never will. Also, PC you dont need good hardware to play most games. BTW even a GPU that is 5 years old for PC is still better than the new Consoles. I prefer PC over console, been playing on them for my whole life. Im sure other people like consoles and that's their preference. Not mine.

In my opinion the fact that wii u can't be compared to the other two major consoles is the thing that really sets it apart. Nintendo always innovates the industry in some way or another, so while they might not have the best hardware, they can keep their prices relatively low and release kickass games at launch and shortly after. Microsoft and Sony are at each other's necks trying to have the best graphics while Nintendo is trying to help gamers have a good experience, which is why their games are always wholesome, fun, and fine tuned. Graphics aren't everything people. Nintendo popularized home consoles and in my opinion they are gonna be the only one standing once these "console wars" are over.
Pc gaming is the best. The only consoles i own atm are PS4 and Xbox 1. I would never touch a Wii U since most of the games are pretty much a joke,and the Wii u would make an excellent cup holder.

Well, all Playstations are the same console with fancier graphics and almost no backwards compatibility. The name tells it Playstation 4, so original, I can see Sony's next console is probably Playstation 5. It will be even more powerful, it has even more memory and it doesn't run any Playstation 4 games. It's like saying a board game is bad because it doesn't have enough details.
I play Xbox at my friends, I owned all PSX up to 3 and had a DS, 3DS, Wii and now a Wii U. I also play PC. I love them all but since I am a kid I have to side to the Wii U (due to more kids games) and PC (due to the wide range of software.
The wii u is by far my favorite console with the best controller. However the lack of third party games forces us to buy the other consoles, which is to bad. Even the Wii had games from other developers. Like cod and FIFA and NHL... Dumbed somewhat but still great to play if you didn't want to but other console. They could have done the same thing with the wii u
The only reason why I havn't bought a WiiU yet is because we know nothing about the Nintendo NX.

Nintendo is in their own category. They don't need to compete with the PS4 or XBone. The majority of people who have PS4s, Xbones, or PCs, won't by a Wii U anyway, because they can't get past specs. Specs don't sell, good exclusive games do. Multiplats help though.
Nintendo sells quality, and when the video game industry crashes for the second time, you better believe Nintendo will be there again to save the day.
