I have a small metalworking shop. A few of my measuring tools are Mitutoyo. Very precise instruments.
My acquaintances have asked me why I buy such expensive calipers when there are 20-30 euro ones in the store, they are the same and measure with the same accuracy. For an ordinary person, maybe so.
But to me the difference is staggering. When you pick up a Mitutoyo caliper or indicator, you feel how smoothly and precisely it moves, how thick and light movment it is.
The caliper can literally measure with an real accuracy of 0,01мм, while other mass calipers, although they also supposedly measure with such accuracy, actually give an error of at least 5-6 hundredths.
Great tools, expensive but totally worth the price!
