For any noobs like me out there that were struggling with this mission on hard difficulty, that is IMO the most difficult in all the main campaign, you can rush resource farming and reach mythical age as soon as possible with tons of gatherers and dwarves, as soon as the invasion starts, pop Ragnarok and it will be a walk from there, auto queue fire giants and wait until the 20 mins have passed.
Yeah, it's kinda funny how after simply introducing the pre-timer-timer among some other minor changes, the mission is actually difficult now, probably as intended; compared to the classic and extended editions where you could pull so much cheese that the mission just became a cakewalk.
A tip i discovered. During this cinematic your base continues to work in real time. Units get trained, upgrades get done, resources continue to get harvested and buildings continue to be builded. Idk if this is a bug, but it helps A LOT in this mission to just watch the cinematic.
One more interesting thing about this mission: During the cutscene where Skult asks you to surrender the game keeps running. So if you're still researching, training troops/villagers or just want an economic boost keep the cutscene running and don't skip it.
I just did this in titan and i just popped ragnarok in the first attack, having the largest army asap made me lose almost no army between waves, got pretty easy
God I can't imagine how much harder Norse missions will be on Titan if they ever decide to fix the Dwarven Mine exploit. You can beat a lot of missions easily by just blocking off the enemy with it.
For me, blocking the road with a mine is just so stupid and embarrassing. And that's because I get the impression that it's done by force, contrary to the purpose of the mine. I hate such workarounds because I feel like I'm playing with cheats. I wonder if the creators knew about it or if it's an unintentional glitch. Another thing I hate in RTS is building walls. For a very simple reason: it's another click that turns the strategy into an arcade game like Starcraft 1/2. Simply building walls definitely distracts the player from their strategy, and these walls are destroyed anyway, in most cases when it comes to RTS games, building walls gives little or nothing at all. I managed to complete this mission without building walls.
Didn't know about village centers or that you could cheese some precious extra time: I was struggling a lot relying on a Ragnarok army that was only just strong enough to hold until reinforcements, with things being unsalvageably desperate then. This should help enormously.
you can sit in a corner with team hero 6 and wait out the timer. then when Odysseus comes just go to Gargarensis and focus him down. no base defense needed.
Wait. I have a question. How do you Rotate the position of the Dwarven Gold Mine God Power like that ? I can't seem to do it and the enemy units still bypass the Mine barrier haha. Many Thanks 😊
This mission is impossible to do on titan. The micromanaging it takes is simply out of the fuckin norm. I mean if at least one hero attacks not a mythic monster and a soldier, you loose. I passed by having two troops hidden in the forrest. Then reinforcements came in and I lost that army too, but I think it is won by default, even if you loose everything at the very end. I cumpleted the game on Titan, but this mission is so fuckin unfair it is retarted.

How tf I play until last mission to realize that I can build a village center instead of building a town center? You definitely got my subscription :)
Same lol keep forgetting it
Dafuq is a village center? lol
You could build houses so that after building ten you get extra houses at draupnir once the TC is completed

Bruh I've played every release of this game and never knew you could make town centers like that
Rushing age 4 and Ragnorak is the way!

@@astraldreamer84 Outside of you sounding like an arrogant snob, we want proof of this. A video actually because screenshots can be staged and faked.

Dwarf heroes increase the passive attack of the soldiers around them, you should have made them fight too
10% to defenses too.

while placing the mine, or any building, use mouse scroll to rotate the foundation
@hasankhawar1906 Raaaah ! Thank You ! You're my hero ! Hahaha ✨️

I cant build village centers
You hit the town center button and place it anywhere not a settlement and it will become a village center
