Thanks a lot. I'm a ML researcher with PhD. I struggled to get an interview for a while. I edited my CV following your advice, I got an interview 1 day after my job application.
Great content, I have discovered you today and started binging your videos. One question: I was always told to include a photo in resume, especially in Germany. Does that not matter much? Thanks in advance.
Thank you! I really appreciate it 😊 I would say the photo does not matter, it only takes away valuable space. I know people in Germany say that, but I think that only applies if your only relevant hard-skill is knowing MS Excel. (:
@@borismeinardus Makes Sense. Thanks for replying. One more question and I know it's a taboo talking about salaries in Germany. But, I'm really curious the salary range especially in your field after masters in Germany. I heard they will only be paid a maximum of 60000 Euros/year which is less compared to the likes of USA, Swiss..etc. If you could make a video on this, it would be much more interesting. Thanks again
I have been following you for a while now and learned a lot. But can you please explain so as to why you weren’t able to convert any of these interviews. As these extremely tough ? Or there isn’t enough ML jobs in Germany.
Question: My resume should have at minimum the skills section, projects, and experience. I just graduated with my degree and I have no experience, no internships, etc, Should I leave this section out? I do have 2 personal projects going on, I will definitely add those.
I really enjoyed this video! The tips for creating a strong resume for machine learning internships and jobs are super helpful, especially the emphasis on keeping it concise and focusing on relevant skills and experiences. The idea of tailoring your resume for each application and using the "So what?" question to filter out irrelevant details is a great approach. I’ve been using Jobsolv to help manage my job applications, and it’s made customizing my resume for each role so much easier. Definitely going to implement these tips to make my resume even stronger for machine learning opportunities!
I would say you usually add those to your personal (academic) website! I have a video on how to very easily build and host one for free :) it is linked in the info card of this video!
Hey Boris, Love your videos. I have a doubt. Did you intentionally not use past tense for your action verbs. ex. You used 'Build not 'Built , 'Develop" not 'Developed', 'analyse' not 'analysed', 'tune' not 'tuned'. Is there any reason to do like this? Please let me know. Thanks again
Yes, it was indeed intentional :) This is just how I have learned it for other people who have great jobs and even from a recruiter. But I think this in the end is just a preference thing and will not be a dealbreaker 😬☺️
Thank god I saw this video, otherwise I would have left out on so many things. I am still on college though, but I got the roadmap that I should build.
Hey Boris. Love your videos. There's a slight issue with your resume. You don't seem to use past tense for your action verbs. ex. 'Built' not 'Build' , 'Developed' not 'Develop', 'analysed' not 'analyse', 'tuned' not 'tune'. Just to name a few. Awesome videos.
if ur pursuing an ml degree then often recruiters will take your gpa into account if they see it on ur resume, but if ur gpa is below 3.0 then you can just not put it on ur resume and they probably wont ask about it
if you love it, you can always find a way, believe in yourself! i’ve found myself capable of so much more than i ever imagined, and I’m sure you’ll discover the same thing
Team Single Column Resume or Team Double Column Resume?!! 💥
Single Column after seeing your video. :p

Yes, if you don't have job experience leave that section out and elaborate a bit more on the projects (personal or ones you worked on in college) :)
@@borismeinardus what if the experience i have was other than machine learning engineer (like software engineer) can i add it in my resume
@@poojithachalla3465 Definitely! SE is a super important skill for ML.
Loved the tips you shared. I always struggle with my resume and these suggestions are really practical

Quick question, do you think using a tool like ResuBot is better than just using Google Docs for formatting?
for feedback, try to look at camera for most of the time
Agreed! I will improve that in the coming videos! 🫡💛
If the recruiter does not have time to read your resume, would he have time to read your blog post?

Is the information system engineering at TU Dresden the same as computer engineering?
