    I’ve turned down major deals and the only regret, I have is not being able to indulge myself in studios like this. Plug-in’s are great, but they don’t come with the feel of a real room or experience of a world class engineers. Absolutely beautiful

      "These Boots Were Made For Walking" I mean, how did that happen, then?
      I make more qualitatively musical music [really] in my Studio Flat than that!
      How far we have come ["non-commercial Pop Music ..."] from this over-revered museum for Dinosaurs trying to sound evolved in some way?

    I had a double 8068 and I never called it a 8088. The only one I knew about was at muscle shoulls studio and crazy story when I tried to buy it like 15 years ago they wanted me to come take it with them at night I was like I’m not going into muscle shoals and taking that 8088 at night. There was some legal crap going on and one owner sold it to me and the other owner did not know. I said nope got my money back and bought herbie Hancocks neve. The black one. Fred hill tuned it up real good. I should of bought that 8088. I would kept that.

    When a person like Carol Kaye drops in and they do not give ash*t, they don't even know their own legends. That tells you a lot about the company.

    I have to agree with the comments below concerning Carol Kaye dropping in and the way they treated her. Such ignorance! If it wasn't for her and the Wrecking Crew, we more than likely not be seeing this documentary. I'm surprised they remember anything about Frank Sinatra, etc. I'm more impressed with Western Recorders and Gold Star.

      11:55 "... is that NS-10's up there...?" 😂 (how can anyone from within the audio world, visiting a studio, ask such a question? 🤣

    Regarding the Lang EQ; "You can add fundamentals that don't necessarily exist in the source." WTF? Coming from an engineer at a world famous studio?

    • @delamar6199
      @delamar6199 7 лет назад +1

      I thought the same bro :D What the Lang (a Pultec) can do is to raise certain frequencies and add more harmonics to the source. Maybe he meant that...

    • @Biosynth
      @Biosynth 6 лет назад +3

      If you used one you know what he means. Pultec (and a fortiori Lang) can add big bass to all sources you put throught it: it’s incredible. Want a fat « proximity » voice, want a big sound from a thinny acoustic guitar, you can. These frequencies are present at the beginning but very very low, you don’t listen to them before making them alive with Pultec/Lang eq.

    Places like this are museums. Most things are done in small studios where most everything is done in the box.
