The Colecovision version of Donkey Kong was excellent, I may invest in a colecovision sometime in the near future if I can find one for a good price. Excellent arcade conversions on it.
Daniel Kovacs Colecovision's was comparatively excellent at the time of release (1982) and was arguably as good as the C64 Atarisoft version (perhaps worse than Amstrad CPC version)...... But it t was ultimately trounced in '85 when Nintendo released DK for NES (the most faithful home port of DK to date)
This port was much better than the Atarisoft version. It also has some hacks I discovered when I played back in the late '80s. On the ramps screen, move to the far end of the screen just under the low end of the next tier, stop and jump. You'll automatically move up to the next higher tier, no need for ladders. Also, the elevator screen will allow you to run along the bottom of the screen, unlike the arcade and most other ports (these are usually automatic 'kill' spots for Mario).

that death sound MMMMMMMMM nothing can be more melodious than th- oh. AmstradCPC does that.
This should also have been the graphics for the Coleco Adam Super Game version. That "REGI TIME" registration rocks!
