Yvonne's mom going into a cooking hyperdrive as soon as her daughter reaches home is a true Asian classic. Even more so than the yelling at you in front of your friend.
I was born and raised in Calgary myself, really bizarre for me to see you showing off places like Market Mall when your life in LA seems so much more exciting! Also funny to see the similarities of a Chinese household, 20 year old fridge magnets are a classic. Glad you're doing well and that you were able to make a visit!
YVONNIE!!! I just wanted to tell you thank you for this, It was really cool to experience a different cultural household. Growing up in a mexican household and all my friends also being hispanic household backgrounds i was never able to experience home cooking of another cultural background or even how the decorate their homes! I know this wasn't the point of the vlog this week lol but I really took alot from it and it made me cheer up to see you happy with your mom and your friends back home, thank you!
Man, the last part got me emotional. I hope that all parents could give you that kind of support to let you grow. Youre mom is really sweet and she deserves to be spoiled. Thank you for this wholesome vlog Evon! Yes, youre officially Evon now, even Starbucks knows it.
Love the talk at the end about giving back to your mom. It's one of those things that's core to so many families but especially Chinese households. It's great that your mom was so supportive of your initial move as well, whether it led to "success" or not.
This video felt so wholesome seeing your mom run around to get you food, her interaction with your friends and you reflecting on your past and now being able to support your mom.
From one asian child to another, this vlog was very touching, inspiring, and a good reminder of how important it is to show appreciation to your parents who have helped you become successful in life. Thanks "Evon"! Keep up the great vlogs and wish you everlasting fortune and success in life!
Watching her relive her memories in her room waso beautiful. Then the short monologue of how her mom has kept everything as is "frozen in time" and how it makes her appreciate her life is so relatable to me. Thank you for this beautiful vlog Yvonne!
You truly appreciate your parents once you move out on your own. The dynamics between Yvonnie and her mom are similar to my own. It's a great feeling when you come home and your parents do all these things because they miss and love you. side note: my parents have the same couches and always tell me, "They don't make them like they used to!"
watching yvonnes vlogs always reminds me that streamers can be grounded people and not just someone to idolize. the vlogs are always my fav part of the month
Yes this video is wholesome, but Yvonne's friends calling her out for having a vlogging voice like most people have a customer service voice is hysterical
Gifting and treating moms when you get to earn your own money is the best feeling in the world. So happy that you give back to your mom who has supports your endeavors, Evon. Wishing you and your family good health and good life. ♥
That last part of the video is literally sums up how it works between asian mom and her child! (and generally other culture aswell i think) as south east asian it's so relatable for me! mom support me alot ! She let me do whatever i want, doesnt care in a positive way, as llong it's positive. Now here i am not as big as u guys but at least it well enough to support myself and spare back the money to give to my mom and all beloved one around me! and YES she doesn't want the physical stuff often , just give her the money lmao
This video is amazing and lovely! I haven't been able to visit my family in Hong Kong ever since pandemic and I miss them so much! Seeing you going back home to be with your family makes me feel so warm. It feels like I am also having a taste of home. Thank you so much for this vlog!
Hi Yvonne! So happy you got to visit fam back here in Canada. :) Definitely FEELS like home (scuffed setups and all). Your mom is super sweet and cute. Some of the things she does reminds me of my mom.
The TV in front of the TV is amazing. My parents are Cantonese, I bought them a new TV and my Mum put it next to the old one and now they just have two TVs next to each other.
Just wanted to thank you for existing Yvonne! I lost both of my grandparents last year so I was really down and depressed but your streams and YT videos really help lift me up along with the other members and friends. You probably dont get thanked for existing but if not this can be the first! ❤️
Ah the sweet sound of a Cantonese household ! I love it that you get to come home to food cause you know Asian parents, especially moms, they'll make you food if you're hungry.
Love the little heartfelt moment of you talking to "us" about where you came from and reflecting on your past. Glad to see that even though you found your "home away from home", you still show love to your parents and friends from the past🙏
Hey, Yvonne. Just wanna say I really love these vlogs. I love how it captures and radiates your energy and big personality. Also, it always brightens my day when I watched them so thanks so much for these amazing vlogs. P.S. Since these vlogs include at least one trip to Starbucks, you should have a Yvonne's Starbuck Highlight where you talk about which drink you got and your rating or whatever (you don't have to do this but I thought it's a fun idea that could enhance your vlogs. Um, thanks for reading this far if you do read this.)
Glad you enjoyed your trip, Evon! Hearing you ramble about how you treated your mom to food and all that made me motivated to do the same as well in the future. Cheers!
The TV computer is so relatable 😂😂 everytime I visit my grandparents, my grandma and grandpa use a mouse and keyboard for their TV to watch shows on RUclips
Thanks for sharing this part of your life with us Yvonnie. This video really brings back memories of my childhood as you went through and talked about yours. Thanks for being you!
This was wonderful! You’re such a kind person and I’m glad to know you got to go home and center yourself like this… even if you had to reveal that old stream setup.
As a Chinese person I was laughing at the part where your mom made you food and stuff I understood what she said and the food how she’s acts and everything else I can relate to that so much growing up with Chinese parents but mostly I can relate to that like that house the furniture everything on display basically everything in that house is like the same format as my childhood house also you gotta love the Janky stuff that Chinese parents put out
Yvonne’s mom’s house is suuuuch an Asian parent house hahaha it looks sooo much like what my childhood house looked like (before it burnt down). So cozy.
One thing I think a lot of people have learned and I still stand to the to this very day is don’t take your time with you parents for granite like spending time with your parents whether it’s like after graduation or like when you move out whatever like even if your friends are inviting you you should always take your time and spend time with your parents whenever you can because they won’t always be there for you and that’s the sad part that’s why im so determined to this that I literally drive almost every weekend across hundreds of miles or even sometimes up to thousands of miles to visit my parents
As a big fan from Hong Kong, everything like the food and Cantonese feel so familiar and approachable to me. Thank you so much for the content :)) Love it
I used to go to Calgary A LOT as a kid because most of my extended family lived there! All the canto dishes make me miss home! I think the best translation for cha chang tang is like a cafe. There's food and stuff but its quick eats and not as fancy as a full on dinner.
It’s crazy actually seeing a content creator I actually watch come to calgary, even just Going to Chinook is surreal to see. What’s the first restaurant you went to? Looks so yummy.

Feels good to know that your mother behaves exactly like my mom, the chatter never ends ^^ your mom seem lovely!
You know what, they have longer conversations than you do with your friends. That's a fact with asian parents. Happens all the time
please don't change the length of your vlogs...😅 if it is longer then it is not a problem 😂
such a wholesome and chill vlog.
NO!!!! CHANGE THIS SHIT YVONNE!! MAKE IT AN HOUR LONG 😤😤😤😤
@@shiellaprz6945 lol that's what the previous comment meant
I'm glad I clicked into this video, being able to hear Cantonese in a supposedly English vlog gives me a very special feeling. 聽到廣東話有種莫名既親切感

It’s so nice to hear you speak Cantonese
the amount of spoken Cantonese in the video makes it so vibrant. Love it!
yvonnes so shy in America but she seems so energetic and happy in Canada! It's so weird seeing you in my hometown, i didnt know you're from Calgary!
the last part was so heart-warming. Yvonne's mom seems very nice.
Evon is so wholesome and cute!!!
Now my fridays are complete because of the Friday vlogs by Yvonne
Watching her relive her memories in her room waso beautiful. Then the short monologue of how her mom has kept everything as is "frozen in time" and how it makes her appreciate her life is so relatable to me. Thank you for this beautiful vlog Yvonne!
Your mom is so cute!! My sister lives in Calgary, so I'm recognizing places like Chinook Centre. So glad you got home for a visit!!

nothing beats the comfort when watching Yvonne's vlog after a long tiring day.
watching yvonnes vlogs always reminds me that streamers can be grounded people and not just someone to idolize. the vlogs are always my fav part of the month
Yvonne is very genuine and humble.
Yvonnes vlogs has definitely become something to look forward to
watching this actually feels so nostalgic because i currently live in Calgary with a chinese family so all the restaurants in the vid are my home!
Good to know that every family just keeps shit forever without throwing out anything.
Yes this video is wholesome, but Yvonne's friends calling her out for having a vlogging voice like most people have a customer service voice is hysterical
its so nice to visit the place you grew up in and feel nostalgic. i'm glad yvonne enjoyed her visit home♡

Your mom did a great job raising you Yvonne. Thanks for the wonderful peak into your childhood.
My Friday is now complete, hard day of work followed by an Yvonne vlog, couldn't ask for more
I feel you on that
didn't expect to be emotional when I clicked on this especially that last part. thank u for sharing this with us!

I love your room too
Gives off 2014 vibes I miss that era
I love your vlogs a loooot take care!!
"everything is a lil scuffed back home" is the most relateable thing ever.
Such a wholesome vlog! Loved Yvonne's relationship with her mum and reminiscing over moving to the US with all her support
Such a nice atmosphere at the end with her saying things she is happy and thankful for and immediately after her gurgling sound outro got me good.
The pc setup in Yvonne’s living room her mom uses I’d say is 9/10 didn’t see any RGB but the 40in monitor was great lol
Another quality Yvonne vlog. Glad you got to go home to Calgary and see your friends/family again!

Yvonne such a sweet daughter to her mom! This is most wholesome vlog!
I love your mom, incredibly wholesome. Good vlog!
Yvonne's a real Asian child! So relatable. Such a nice vlog
this vlog is so wholesome 🤍
I love how yvonne is "bullied" by both her OTV friends and Home friends XD they tease her a lot

This vlog is so unabashedly Cantonese, it's amazing.
This FVLOG is just wholesome all around
