I had a stroke when I was 49, at work. When I first started working on my recovery, I was looking everywhere to find someone else, anyone, who was also a stroke survivor and not elderly. I was so shocked to find Kevin Sorbo. As an Andromeda/Star Trek fan (after all, I taught science) I could hardly believe that the actor who did all that running through the sets and memorizing all those lines had survived multiple strokes. Today it's 8 years later, I'm still struggling in some areas, but my faith in Christ is not one of them. Jesus was how I made it through the dark times. It's so hard to explain to people who have not been there, but when you get with other stroke survivors, they know exactly what you're talking about. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life now. Seeing this interview with Sam and Kevin really brightened my day.
Christians that come to God with a true heart in faith and send their honest petitions to him will have their prayers answered. Their faith must not let go of the promises of God if they do not see or feel the immediate answer of their prayers. Be not afraid to trust God. Rely upon his sure promise Ask and ye shall receive.

I'm a distant cousin of Kevin's. Our great great grandfathers were brothers. His father and mine attended the same college (Luther College) in Iowa. They both studied the sciences. Our mothers are cousins on my maternal grandmother's side. They grew up in Northern Iowa. Well, I largely grew up in White Bear Lake (a northern suburb of St. Paul. However, his right wing politics married with Christian evangelicals disturbs me. I too was raised Lutheran. I'm of Norwegian heritage too. His support of Trump bewilders me. I was raised to be committed to Jesus's teachings of social justice, equal worth, and love for our global neighbors. Trump is misogynist, racist, sociopathic, and a mobster. I can't comprehend any Christian supporting a criminal, who instills all the hate, greed, and exploitation of others.
