Look when you have the 2 best crews in construction coming together,shows so much respect for the trade. I am not in construction but my husband is and has been since he was 15, he is now 49... he never misses an episode of either of these guys,he said watching PB and SP has really made him better at his trade,he's not able to do much anymore but he still loves it.. PB and SP show that when you have people who respect their trade and do something they love and you bring it all together, you have the recipe for so much appreciation and respect for the craft, the trade and each other. It’s pretty awesome to see the camaraderie of the building community. Two really great crews working together. Except now I think I have to start watching studpack also.
Just a word of caution cutting those metal bands holding the trusses together. A friend of mine cut a metal band holding a bundle of lumber together. When you cut them, the cut end is like a razor blade. When he cut it the sharp end severed a tendon in his hand. He ended up having emergency surgery to put the tendon back together. The dr. wasn't sure he'd ever be able to use that finger again. Just be careful!!!

Yep! Gang Nails can be nasty!! (I have the scares to prove it!😥😥) Communication is certainly the key when laying trusses, I got pushed off a roof once when I was standing on a frame & said "STOP, I need to move" (to the other guys who were pushing the truss up) Nope! They kept on pushing!! That was a bit of a fall but at least it was inside & not out as the floor of the home was at least a story higher due to it being on stilts on the side of a hill! I lived to tell the tale! 🤣Nice work Guys!! 👍👍

@8:10 - this is a HUGE thing to remind people of if they are new to construction. I have so many huge scars on my hands, arms, and legs from brushing up on a plate when setting trusses. They are always in a place you naturally want to grab and the edges are sharper than most restaurant steak knives.

I stopped using those open web trusses 30 years ago they are not reliably flat enough for me. So I retired to NC and built a work shop and the truss manufacturer talked me into them and had one 3/8” high. Not to mention they no longer met fire code unless you plywood them every eight feet. Oh and the mice love them they can meander, sashay, skip,or hop from one end of the house to the other. I joist was a better way to go for me. IMHO Great video as usual.

When I build walls I typically will shoot straight down right next to the stud top and at an angle in between. This way you still get nails in the space between the studs but it does not penetrate to the bottom side. I just clamp a 2x board on the edge of a wall at the top in order to lock it straight. You can also pull a line on the long side to get a even truer measure of a straight wall.
I love Stud pack. Unfortunately I can watch faster than they can put out videos. LOL. Love being introduced to another channel to give me more to watch. I have watched every video Stud Pack has so now I have a new channel to catch up on. Thanks.
I live in Chile and the construction system is different because of the earthquakes, but it would be great to find construction companies as responsible as you in complying with regulations and building codes, very interesting content.
earthquakes are why California has helluva lot of code - maybe most in the USA. But NC has a lot too - as P.B. shows us - thanks guys for including - helpful.
