I used the same set of cans to make a gassifier/woodstove a few weeks ago. Works fantastic!! This set is the perfect addition to my stove, great! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Pedro! I watched almost every video on YT on this and started out by making a rocket stove from cans, wich I than combined with a gassifier stove (so: a rocketstove WITH th holes from the gassifier). Good video to watch for you (next to this one) may be from 'Simon, a bloke in the woods' and also those from 'desertsun02' I never thought that a combination of gassifier and rocket would work but it does very well. Greetings from Holland @@pedroclaro7822
Good ideas incorporated into this set. Seasoning, DIY cup handle, nesting, etc. IMO, an excellent option for those building multiple sets for family members and vehicle kits. What may be affordable to an individual, can become out of reach when having to take multiples into consideration. Thank you for sharing.
Outstanding! Everyone shows you how to make them but no one shows you the best thing to season them with, in fact most don't mention seasoning at all ! I can remember the old timers making their own billy cans but they used just about any grease or oil, when it went rancid they just burned it out and started again, they rarely had to boil their drinking water. Rancid bacon grease flavoured drinking water is only a treat for the first 3/4 mornings!!
Pineapple can fits over bike bottles I showed my wife during a power outage using a cat food can alcohol stove Making a roast beef and vegetable dinner. In Oregon our ranges operate on electricity. She watche me make can cook sets when things were normal. The can set cooked a fine meal. Then quick wash, transition to coffee and tea the morning after.
+Agent 1611 - Nice vid and great build on some low dollar but solid outdoor kit. One suggestion on the cup handle...wrap the loop lower on the can (maybe 3/4 of the way down) in one of the grooves. Then after twisting the wires together you could put two holes near the top and run the ends of the wire thru them and bend them over. Little more solid than a "floating" handle.
Really Enjoyed this. Will be making a couple of these. Reminds me of Adventure time in the woods with similar items as a young boy. They have a certain character I like very much. Subscribed Thank You Brother.
From Spain. Nice and beautiful video about how I can use again tin cans. My question now is, you can make a frying pan using another big tin can,?. Maybe from tuna can or similar?. If you can to do it, ok. Congratulations. Many greetings.
Do all cans have the plastic lining or just the fruit and soup cans? Agent1611, Thank you for sharing your idea. The little kid in me that built forts and treehouses still lives on and loves this idea.
Other RUclipsrs say cans with acidic foods (tomato, fruits) have liners with bpa (which is toxic) in them. If can is not used to cook in may be ok. Best to burn them all to make sure. You can't always tell if can is lined or not.
Many years ago I made a water boiler for camping, the reason is steel goes in the fire, and doesnt get destroyed. Store bought Camper cooksets are too small.
One thing about cans I like is that cans of different sizes fit together. Is one of the cans a stove? I'm thinking that a stove could be made using coat hangers for a grill.
I won’t lie: if you use pure virgin coconut oil it does have a flavor, but just a thin coat isn’t too bad. It’s just my preference. I cook a lot with it anyway.
Chris McCollum , it actually goes away fast. I also want to commend you on your wonderful English. Not too many people are knowledgeable on using the word ignorance correctly.
Philip Davis Thank you! But, I have to tell you--- your comment made me laugh. Believe me when I say I took no offense at all--but that's my daughter! I guess I'm looking old, lol!
I wish someone would do a RUclips about which cans to use and which to avoid. The only ones that I am 100% sure of are the steel coffee cans that look the same inside as on the outside. The smaller cans to nest inside are less obvious like the fruit cans in this video.
+broadwayFan28 Yes-the "tin can" set is actually a steel can set, and some of the smaller cans can be tricky to get the right size and type. I would just be careful that the can does not have a plastic coating inside. It depends on the brand of product.
Just found this video recently. Great instructional on the cook set. You are one of the last great freeborn hobos. You should be proud.
I love it! Urban craft for the bush. It doesn't get any better than that folks.
pro tip : watch series on Flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Deacon Shane Definitely, have been watching on flixzone} for since november myself :)

HEy! I'm in the process of making my own too. Whose guide did you follow? thx

Fabulous and looking forward to this fun project!
I like the idea 👍😎

+Outdoor Dauber I love the suggestions! Next iteration I will consider it.
Great idea!
Awesome Video! Thanks
Looks good. I have seen a video warning about BPA in cans. Do you think the fire burned off the BPA In the cans?
Great simple and cheap cook set build!

Thanks for the sub!

Try using avocado oil. I use it on all my cast iron skillets and Dutch ovens. Use very small amounts and heat up until you see just a whist of smoke.
Great idea bro definitely gona make my own set... Great video definitely worth a sub
Great job thank you
Nice video!
that's brilliant!!!
Use what you have in front of your face ppl lol. Good video man. Shout out to the wife supporting 100% 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Not all cans have it, but I am not sure what qualifies a can to be made with the plastic lining

brilliant.
Two thumbs up 👍 👍
Cool idea, I enjoyed your film.
This is awesome but what about a lid for your pot
lard will work for an oil it does not go rancid. maybe a cozy for your cup instead of a handle.
+Tim Barton Good ideas! Found it difficult to find pure lard around here; it always has some hydrogenated oils mixed in.
Thanks for the sub!

No-none of the cans are built to be a stove, but that would be a nice addition!

I put my cans in the BBQ w/ wood chips to season them and prevent rust
Grape seed oil
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Awesome!!!!!
would you allow me to use this comment on an intro video for my channel?
Agent1611 of course!
Finally got my channel intro video up with your comment. Thanks for the permission and, of course, the comment itself!
Gave me an idea on how to make a homemade percolator shalom
I might have missed that part, but doesn't the oil get dissolved in the heat? Gonna try this DIY in a couple of days
+skinko What part are you asking about--oiling it after firing? It does need to be oiled down after each use and cleaning.
just like cast iron... has to be treated [re seasoned] after use...
Why did you take the labels off the cans?
great video mate , nice one
"and boom. Tin can cook set."
THANKS AGENT1611 FOR THE TIPS
Please forgive my ignorance on this, but doesn't coconut oil make everything taste like coconut?

Chefs season their cookware with flax seed oil.
Look at the benefits of olive oil...
your grand daughter is cuite

That's OK, I'm closing in on 70 but look 19. 8-)
Great. I hope i never hav to use it.

I think the paper will just burn off.
JustaDumbFarmer , yes, and go right into the children's face. Think.
@@samuelnatal3221 oh. safety first!
Actually, it’s not always paper; sometimes it’s plastic and would make a mess. Best just to take it off.
