- a sad time of mourning for my Dorodango...
but now I have a new shiny, perfectly polished ball to cherish! I know that I'm 7 years late to the tinfoil ball challenge, but better late than never!
it was a surprisingly fun and relaxing process!

I love the fact that there's companies out there whose sole purpose is to turn clumps of aluminum into foil, and here you are just reversing all their hard work
Yes but they most likely have machines for it.
@Nathan_Donald they do
Lol 😂
Jjoeh
We all do, even if its 1 sheet of a time.
My 5 year old daugther couldn't sleep, so we watched this together. When the ball was finished, she said 'he's very proud' which is cool, because she doesn't speak English, so she had no idea what you were saying, but your enthusiasm and face and showing of the ball made her say it. She probably has autism (just like her parents) and her expressing your emotion (which can be hard for people with autism, so we try to teach her as much as possible) made me very proud. She's now sleeping well, probably dreaming about a shiny ball lol.
Oop
Nice❤
That's beautiful and special ❤ so proud of your daughter and of you as parents because clearly you're the best at raising her and being with her on the journey that is life ❤️
So cute!
That’s nice but you have a daughter and you still say lol
I really appreciate how the thumbnail wasn’t clickbait. I now want a tin ball of my own lol
WEEEEE WOOOOO WEEEEE WWOOOOOOO UNDERRATED COMMENT ALERT WEEEEE WOOOOO
Yeah ditto
It's certainly something I could get utterly obsessed with. 😊
@CameronZetty its not
Aluminum, not tin.
10:00 Connor, you are supposed to dunk the paper in water, not the ball
Oooohh good to know haha!😅
He used both techniques and it woks so...
Being surprised that repeatedly swinging a 25-pound weight up and down, one designed for working out by repeatedly moving it up and down, would in fact be a workout, definitely had me chuckling.
Good point 😆
Not very effective with those motions
@sacatolasmoreira5593any sort of moving is a workout because it burns calories not a lot but it does
@s@sacatolasmoreira5593ell haha your not effective😂
I ment to say well
i really like how calm your videos are. no crazy fast editing, no screaming. just a man making a metal ball (or whatever else you come up with)
no comments huh?
I almost screamed when I smashed my thumb with the hammer haha
@itsConnorCreatesWell that's for a actual reason
100% Agreed dude ❤❤
@itsConnorCreatesI mean its a hammer 😂
Many years ago as a teenager I got hired to help decorate the stage for a production of a play. It involved covering a huge amount of the set with tinfoil. I collected all the scraps into a firm ball about the size of a bushel basket and took it home. It got used as a stool for a long time, and tossed around. It started to shrink, and people started dropping it on the floor on purpose to shrink it further. Over a year or so, it gradually shrank to the size of a cantaloupe and took on a texture like Damascus steel. It was surprisingly heavy.
Woah love it! Glad it brought back this fun memory!
What a neat story! Thanks for sharing
Very interesting!!
@aleesha129 mine weighs 41 pounds.😀
@ Wow!
This reminds me of the foil ball I made in the 90's when I smoked. I peeled the paper from the foil in cigarette packages and made a ball, then wrapped it up each time a pack was empty, often gathering more from others. I rubbed it on a hard surface to make it smooth and shiny, and it was a cool little ball. It didn't get more than an inch and a half across, and I soon after quit smoking, but it was fun to create that thing over the years.
Nice! That sounds pretty impressive actually!
I was about to post that we used to do this in 2002 but figured we probably didn't invent making balls from the cigarette foil. So it goes at least back to the 90s
@brettraceI started my aluminium ball in the 70.
Never got far, but my cousin, who introduced me to the whole concept, made a pretty decent one (about 5 inches in diameter).
Now I feel reeeeally old.
wow the 90's? i wish i got to see dinosaurs to🤩
@ironshoes1720, so we're back to at least the 70s.
Now, the boring answer on when cigarette foil balls were "invented" is whenever cigarette companies started using foil wrapping, but the playful part of my mind wants to believe that these foil balls existed before then 🤨 😆
A lot of people crunch up a small ball (golf ball size) of aluminum foil and throw it in their dryer instead of using a dryer sheet. The foil takes away static and is more environmentally friendly (totally reusable) and non allergenic. Funny by-product of putting a ball of foil in the dryer multiple times is that it compacts super tight, shiny, and perfectly round. With no effort.
Thats cool
I'll have to test that!
gonna try it your way, my hands can't do that for hours! Thank you tracey ;) ♥ †
Does anyone have issue with static on their clothing? Dryer sheets are waxy which impart a scent onto the clothing.... Aluminium foil does neither of those things
@watchinyoutube8919yes, dry climates. Also pet hair sticks more with static, using one of the static reducing dryer methods helps to release pet hair and lint etc.
This is actually the first time I’ve ever seen anybody make a completely perfect foil ball, well done Connor!!
Look harder. There's ones without the pits and imperfections his has.
@ still tho it looks amazing
Thanks!! 🙏
@itsConnorCreatesimma try this but i wanna wrap it with copper wire before I hammer it.
@itzjustagame2638 Bro me too:)
4:37 Lets take a second to appreciate how much extra work Connor put in to make that joke happen. I mean he printed out a ton of stuff just to goof on us!
Haha glad you appreciated
It 😅🫡
So true
Yessss
Thanks connor

😅😆
@itsConnorCreates Love your videos. I just don't have money to buy merch 😭
@NoLongerBaldletsky bro its ok🙂
😂
4:29 ITS SPHERICAL
😅
Yeah
Pretty sure that’s an oblate spheroid, can’t be perfectly spherical. No pedantic half measures, words matter[tm], we should be precise in our language:
that shape is technically called a “ball”.
SPHERICAL!!
@Cucumberthe42ndthis guy gets it
“Look at this! I made this thing!!” Made me so happy, i share that sentiment a ton
Haha glad you can relate! 😄
@itsConnorCreatesPLEASE HEART MY COMMENT CONNER! ALSO FIRST!!!
I appreciate the calming-jazz music instead of montage music 3:17
Glad you approve 😄🙌🏻
I think you should have switched arms lol. Your right side is going to look like Popeye, your left... erkle lol.
Id use a wet tile sander lol.
@itsConnorCreates I wish you would’ve played montage music that was really loud
@itsConnorCreateshi❤
The sphere looked like a moon 9:40
Happy Weird Ball Day everyone 🎉
The best national holiday
Hahah yeh🎉🎉🎉😊
Yeye boiiiii😊
😂
Yea! Let’s celebrate🎉🎉
11:53 what are archaeologists 3000 years in the future going to think when they find these😂
😅😆
When they put em through an X-ray they are gonna see a bunch of random lines in all directions
“We’ve found human eggs!”
If we live that long…
Ancient aliens did it
Thats how i wanna spend my retirement years, just sitting in my cabin or house, listening podcasts or stories or watching movies or spending time with my wife and kids while doing creative hobbies like this
That's my personal dream too, alone in a cabin making art.
Never too early!
@Solid_Hank aye man first I need a wife, that's the hard part
@Solid_Hank true true🤨
To be honest, all I want in life is to have a house, a nice wife, and to have children by the way, I’m on my mom’s tablet right now
12:55 wow if only I could buy it
i think we can all agree that connor is the most wholesome and chillest youtuber dad ❤

9:57 bro has a banana taped to his wall
Hey funny story, that’s actually a famous art piece for some reason
It's art
its a masterpiece
He has a video where he created that!
Lol
I love how these videos aren't like "oh i hate my job i wish i could quit, i am doing this all for you" but no he actually enjoys the process that's the most refreshing part❤❤
Also the little details are also proof of how much care he puts in these projects ❤❤
I appreciate you noticing that! 🙌🏻 thanks for the kind words and support 😄
@itsConnorCreatesMR.DESPACITO? WHERE WERE YOUU?
1:24 does it bother anyone else how close that candle is to the edge of that table? It’s giving me anxiety lol.
Haha it actually almost fell off at one point 😅😆
@ I knew it 🤣
It didn’t until now but now I’m getting anxiety from it
Not until I read your comment. Now, definitely. Thanks.
Anxiety keep on trying me feel quietly trying to silence me yeah
12:32 the sign was telling you to chill and stop worrying lol.
13:00 I really love this ball!! I honestly kinda want one but I don't think I'm that committed enough to actually make one myself
I just want to say this is a very underrated comment 😊so I’m glad to be here for the first reply😊.
4:38 i thought bro was gonna give me a geometry lessons 😂😂😂
😆
I was ready for it
@axo_club ha
Գ
takes some solid metal... circles to do a challenge that's almost a decade old. But you didn't let that foil this project, and your creativity truly shines here.
It reflects his dedication...
Spheres
😂
Nice shiny balls
Haha why thank you 😅🫡
I don’t know how exactly to decried this but your videos feel so whimsical, like you’re just living this picturesque life out on a beautiful home and having fun making cool things it’s awesome
Right?? Dude is living my dream life in a cabin surrounded by beautiful mountains
.?
FYI: wet sanding does NOT mean sanding under-water. LOL.
I loved it.
The instructions were unclear
@itsConnorCreates Wet sanding allows the grit to turn into a paste and get progressively smaller as you sand giving a finer finish.
Wet sanding is also used to reduce heat while sanding which would not be an issue in this case.
Wet the sandpaper and base surface with water. Placing the sandpaper on a wet base surface will allow it to "stick" to the surface to allow for easier sanding.
Loved the vid, just throwing out some helpful hints.
you are suspiciously efficient at hammering your ball
Ha😅
It was very much dank dude😂😅💀💀
Ha😊😂
The replies are the dead internet theory 🥀
@atlavolt the flower emoji in the big 25
His determination is incredible. The ball looks amazing. Great job.
What if he made a ball the size of a chair
Yeaaa😂😂😂
Naah that would be wholesome 😂
Nice idea
Haha don’t tempt me with another challenge!
@itsConnorCreates hiiii
Its just nice to see things happily made by hand. Its such a human compulsion to make something and yet we live in a world where finished products and display shelves are more common than raw materials and work tables. You allow us to experience the joy of attainable, casual creativity. Thank you as well.
Beautifully said! Thanks so much! 😄🙌🏻
I mean, those things aren’t mutually exclusive
He "allows" you to experience creativity? Just go be creative.
I made one to get rid of static electricity in my tumble dryer with the clothes that I wanted to dry. It took about two weeks to make into a totally solid ball. It got rid of the static elec and turned out perfectly spherical. I was flabbergasted. I did not expect that and our cat loved it. 🙂
Mine, too.
…and bonus: it turned your dryer into a Kozyrev mirror/ time portal,right? 😁
my cat loves to chase aluminum!
My Mom was the receptionist at Alcan Aluminum's Corporate Headquarters in Cleveland for years. Great company! They used to give their employees huge rolls of that foil. Strongest foil I've ever seen!
7:30 Bro ain’t taking a break not even on the toilet lol
Committed 💯
@itsConnorCreatesyour next idea is creating a tub or like mini pool of jello or a frozen liquid it would be fun also nice video I really like seeing the commitment! Thanks
THE FLAPPY END PIECE
1:41 He says it's the end of the roll but there's a small bit left
11:58 so shiny! ✨ I’m proud of you!
Thank you😄🤗

Hey Connor! I don't know if you will remember me but i'm Doug (the guy from your worm video) and a tip with worm charming is to worm charm in moist soil, because worms prefer moist soil over dry dirt.
Thanks you o great worm whisperer
Are you the Doug that teaches science online 😮
@Falling_Downwhat????
Other ppl made it clickbait. But this is pure real man. Definitely subscribing.
You are kind and yeah he dose not clickbait 😊
Wet sanding your compressed aluminium ball is more satisfying when done under the shower, plus it's cleaner and warmer.
I also love the smell of ozone when the aluminium metal gases off while you polish it.
"Lewis", it's Hammer time 2:00
Who’s Lewis
@Alientheanimator Hamilton, F1 driver
Ok
1:33 never too shabby
12:07 Its not a weird thing to be proud of. Did you see how long you were at it. With nothing but grit!!!
There is a smiley face at the bottom of the ball 9:40
Wdym
@XxXsadloser bruh look closely there is a smiley face at the bottom of the ball
4:37 bro really fooled me
It's amazing how you actually put effort into making this unlike some other youtubers who just make a dull not even ball mess good job
Thanks for the support!! 🙌🏻😄
😊
🎉
Good jod😊
It's a circle, no, it's a spear, no, it's a sphere, yes...
A spear is a weapon and a sphere is like a ball
Vro
Would have been interesting to see a heavy metal test of the blood before and after

Won me as a subscriber the moment i saw that you’ve put the ball in the passenger seat with the seat belt on.😂 So cute! Your energy is infectious.❤
This is the first time watching your channel, and OMG! As soon as you called it a "Circle" I immediately shook my head. Then you paused and corrected yourself. Lets just say, I laughed out loud, and had to comment 🤣
😂😂😂
What cats actually do with all those tiny foil balls u make them:
I love how progressively happy he becomes in each stage😂❤
😅🙌🏻
Now cover it in gold leaf and polish that.
That’d be epic!! Good idea!
You better do it or else @itsConnorCreates
Chill
@beyond2lostyour right
Good idea with the gold leaf.

I like how you are confident that it’s going to work and working hard for your subscribers 😊
Well, you can thank the algorithm for me finding this video of a random Canadian making a foil ball, because he can. You have earned another subscription! Also, the view from your place is astounding!
8:56 it looks like the moon
True!!
@ nice videos btw i spent half an hour looking at them
Your energy is just soooo contagious! Such a wholesome and distinguished gentleman
Why thank you 😄🤗
Your next ball should be an alluminum ball, wrapped in multiple layers of multi-colored and natural clay, then encase it in a square block of clear resin, which you then cut, sand and polish into a ball. Mayhem.
7:35 is pure dedication to the task.
First video of yours I've seen, but I already gotta go watch more.
Same
This is my comfort channel❤
Glad to hear it 😄🤗
9:49 did anyone notice 5he banana on the wall
That art piece is worth millions.
I did now 😂

All the replies are dead internet theory 🥀
Dang dude. You made like $20,000+ on this video. Congrats. 🎊
Connor is the most wholesome guy I've ever seen on RUclips ❤
😄🤗
Wow 😃 you can be rightfully proud 👏 The Metal Ball is so Awesome 👌❤️
Thank you 😊
3:31 woah Connor without his hat!
Haha a rare sight!
Finally a RUclipsr that does not lie and show the process
a couple of helpful tips - 1, try to compact the foil right from the start when balling it up, as in ball it up as tight as you can, not loosely, it'll make it easier to compress at the hammering stage. and 2, when nearing the end of the roll, try to leave a loose pocket/flap (don't squish as much near the very end) in which to tuck the very end of the foil into. like with origami, or whipping a handle with leather thong, it'll help stop the flappy end bit problem by tucking it in ... good luck and all the best to all who give this a try 🤗
Thank you for these tips! Going to do this with my 6 yo son :)
I made a al foil ball myself once, but not nearly so nice. Learned a lot from watching this. Thank you! You have every reason to be proud!
Nice! Maybe this is your sign to make another one 🙌🏻
4:22 LOL I WAS ABOUT TO COMMENT erm actually it’s called a sphere
😅😆
First reply@itsConnorCreates
This man smiled more in this 13 min video than I have the past decade
I remember watching your “turning sea water into kitchen salt” and immediately subscribing! Love your videos, you deserve much, *much* more than 380,000 subscribers!!
Thanks for sticking around since then!! 😄🫡
