    Nice review! I very much love my Denon X3800H. I have it connected to my Teufel Ultima 40 Dolby Atmos Home Cinema Set. Receiver is very good and I love the added IMAX Enhanced codec and Auro 3D.

    Thanks for the video. I have read complaints from dozens of owners saying their X3800H Denon AVR's are having problems like overheating causing the AVR to stop working, or something is causing HDMI connections to not work correctly, or hissing noises coming from the speakers. And when they call Denon for warranty service, they get little or no help. Denon's build quality and warranty service is terrible from what I have read. Same problems with Onkyo. I will probably buy the Yamaha RX A4A Aventage because of their build high quality and great warranty service.

    Do you have to change the impedance in Denon’s x3800h (out of the box) configuration for it to handle 6 ohm speakers along side with 8ohm speakers? Or does it recognize it automatically? If I have to change the impedance in the receiver how do I do it?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  29 дней назад +1

      You can select the correct impedance settings for 6-ohm speakers in the Denon AVR-X3800H's settings menu. The steps are outlined in page 38 of the owner's manual.

    Any comments on a 5.1 system using ceiling mounted JBL 8IC front LCR & 6IC rear speakers with a Stage 200P Sub? Planning to use an X3800 receiver and an Epson TW7100 projector….love to hear your comments/advice! The JBL Studio 2 8IC is an excellent speaker and can provide great results for the L and R mains when used in a home theater system. For the best dialog clarity and imaging, using the JBL Studio 2 55IW in-wall speaker in the link below for your center channel is a great move.

    Can anyone help me out with an issue I am currently having with the AVR-X3800H?? My problem is with the Analog devices I have connected to the receiver. Whenever I play one of these devices from time to time the sound goes off for a minute or two and then comes back on. What could be causing this to happen???

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  Месяц назад

      Hi Christopher, are you only having the issue via analog sources?

      We cannot find any troubleshooting steps for this issue in the owner's manual. Have you tried a different input on the Denon? Tried a different cable?

    I love Denon but they really need to update the look of the receiver, its looking really old, I own the previous 3700H, I'll wait for the next one from Denon, hopefully they do a Facelift.

      I actually like the traditional faceplate layout brands like Denon and Onkyo use with the big shiny knobs and brushed metal look - the problem is that on models as expensive as the 2800 and 3800, they're still making the faceplates out of metal-looking plastic (and the control knobs)... that's unacceptable for an amp that costs upwards of $1K.
      I also have gripes with the way certain brands are going about designing their AVRs in terms of specific aesthetics - for example, I was a massive Onkyo fan before Premium Audio Group/Voxx/Sharp decided to change the front panels of the brand's receivers so that only the input name and volume level is shown while using it. I need an AVR that shows the input name AND sound mode/codec in use at the same time, and it's ridiculous how they dropped this feature.
      This was a big reason I replaced my TX-SR605 in the home theater with a Denon X2800 recently, but I much prefer the sound and overall experience of my old Onkyo.
      Still, as I said, I like the more classic look of AVRs, with the big knobs and brushed faces - I prefer this over the more cutting edge aesthetics used by brands like Yamaha (God, I absolutely HATE that giant volume knob in the middle of their receivers and the glossy black finish), Marantz and Anthem. There's something about those screens that look like full color high definition TVs on the front of receivers like those that I don't care for.

      If it is set to 6ohm wouldn’t it affect the 8ohm speakers performance?

      That's if we're lucky enough to get a new range of Denon receivers. Things aren't looking good for them right now...
      The same company owns Marantz too, so we might lose two heavyweights in home theatre at once.

    • @MikeMargolis-j8f

      @@squall6789 This problem is mainly affecting the brands under the Premium Audio Group umbrella - specifically Pioneer, which is pretty much dead.
