I like relaxed mood of the people and field with tilted sunshine. I envy the wide and flat LZ you have. (If I compare to our small LZ in Tanna Japan w)
@@ericoschmitt Sounds like Jim Rooney's "flare+1" method. Works well for single surface gliders. Have you tried it with consistent success on double surface? Do you use the same one-two count regardless of VG setting (ie. zero VG vs 1/3 or 1/2)? Do you push up forcefully the same way every time regardless of headwind (ie calm vs 10+ mph)?
@@skeetzoid that was sort of a joke comment, but I do use that with a Litesport 4, and have used on the past two landings with a borrowed RX 3.5. Of course I won't flare it nose up on a stronger wind... This technique works well at about 1/4~1/3 VG, and results in 'super hero no step' landings at zero wind. With the VG loose the flare window is actually smaller as the nose will stall earlier due to higher AOA, and I get some whacks. I've landed up to 3/4 VG, but a late flare will lead to dropping a wingtip, and I don't remember getting that sort of pitch feedback on my hands. So in the end 1/4 to 1/2 seems like the right way for me. Nowadays I don't even think about mechanics on single surface, it's been a long time since I stopped whacking those!
Sweet video Brother. Greetings from Wurtsboro Airport. I fly out of there since spring this year. I might want to request clearance to land at Hangglider RD one day. I think ultralights are okay to land there.
Great flying ,, Say hello to Tony C
ohhhh you had me at landings
Sweet👍

Landing a wing with bones still feels more like art than science
:)
1. Ground effect pulling in
2. Wait till it's pitch neutral
3. Count 'one... Two'
4. Push up
That will works for most gliders

You should talk to Tony at the end of Hang Glider Rd, house on the right; he's the landowner.
@@MichaelStrother cool I've been down there once before. But I didn't talk to anyone.
