Thank you for this detailed basic break down on these flight controllers. It’s like flight controllers for dummies. 😂

Would you be able to help me please ?
I’ve never ever used a FC , trying to watch many videos like yours to try understand how this works.
I’m stuck trying to wire my new DJI 03 air unit to my F405 wing v2, I’m just not sure how to wire this .
I know tX to rx, and rx to tX , but don’t know exactly where to plug my cables on the board itself .
    Anything you can help
Me with would be great please .

I am not familiar with the digital video (like DJI), but if it has a TX and RX line, that tells me that it is a serial interface that should be connected to a UART. Your FC has 6 UARTS available, so I presume you could connect it to any one of those. If you use UART1, for example, you would connect to TX1 and RX1 (RX to TX1, TX to RX1). Your unit will also need power, so check its power requirements. UARTs 1, 3, and 6 have 5V and GND connections conveniently located next to the TX/RX pins, and UARTS 2, 4, and 5 have 4.5V and GND connections nearby to them. There are also 9V connections on the board. Your flight controller comes with pin headers that you can solder in if you want to use connectors to connect to the board. Otherwise, you can just solder the wires directly to the board. There are some good groups on facebook that might be helpful, like "Beginner to FPV", and "INAV Fixed Wing Group". Most people there are happy to help out with questions like these.
