      For a Brazilian, it's like a dream. Most Brazilians have little or no idea about Swedish culture, but still, many love to quote Sweden as an example, as if we might do similar things. Just teach them about Jantelagen and see what happens!...

      Here in the US, it's really easy to find people's addresses because of voter records being public information (so, you can also see which party they're registered with, if any) and if you want it taken offline, you have to request it from every records site that has that information (which is tedious!). Nonetheless, I could never imagine having all of that other information public! Especially income, haha. I think it's just a big cultural difference; it's normal for Swedes but strange for many other cultures.

      Does feel a bit weird in my opinion. Especially the fact that you can easily find out how much someone earns 😅

    Great video! As an outsider, why would someone move a lot if they live in Stockholm?

    • @Tobias-qh5li
      @Tobias-qh5li 3 года назад +1

      It is not that easy to find a 1st hand flat, so many people rent 2 hand. The contracts are at times short and the cycle begins. To buy a flat in Stockholm city you will need some money as the prices are quite high and legaly you can only borrow 85%, wich is a problem for many. The easy way to solve most of this is to rent or buy outside stockholm city but for people moving to STHLM it is not a thing to do (1 personal opinion).

    • @FunSwedish
      @FunSwedish  3 года назад +6

      Good question!
      Unless you buy, the renting system is VERY strange and hard to explain in a comment.
      We have lifetime rental contracts. With controlled pricing. But you need to be in a queue that might take you 20 years of waiting to get one of these contracts in some of the best areas.
      A second hand market that came from that. With short term rental contracts ranging from 3 months to 4 years.
      And... that is only the start. So we should probably make a video about that at some point if there are more people interested.

    Nice.. its about how the swedish system is set up!
    Whitout a swedish personnummer, one is only a tourist!
    Soo.. if one like to live in sweden for a longer time then a tourist, the first step is to aplay for a personnummer att skatteverket!
    Yes even for students, that lives here for a year or more on student visas.
    Everything boils down to transperacy.. a swedish personnummer = a residentship, temporary or permanent/by birth = swedish ID card = any authority/company can track and check your credentials!
    In anyway.. its have dual purposes.. for your own safety, and for every others safety!
    Swedes are a lot for safety.. we drive Volvo becuse of safety.. well mayby not, its still a safety car!
    And we are used to show swedish ID card if asked for it, and mobile banc ID on internet, and swish whit banc ID on the streets!

    I really like your videos, very interesting. Unfortunately, the sound effects you use are super loud and annoying and actually get in the way of what you're trying to say, because all I can hear is that giant slap sound etc. ugh!

    • @FunSwedish

      We will have to double check the sound balance of the sound effects next time 😅.
