Do you have any schematics for this build? Specifically the Launch Tower and Crawler? I play on console and I've been trying to replicate it but it's so damn hard!
@@TheRUclipsCommentor I am not sure what you mean by schematics. The links above lead to the .craft files, which can be used to integrate them into the game on PC. I have never played KSP on console, I am not sure if there is a way to get other people's vehicles into your own game on that platform.

You had my jumping up in excitement with your casual remark about the Apollo 11 film launching in Europe! I didn't know that! I already accepted that I wouldn't see the film on the big screen. But now it releases September 4th in a cinema near me. So excited!!!
Nice video. Another minor detail that I noticed, making it different from Apollo 11(apart from the rover): no free return trajectory. But as I said, minor detail.
I suspect the rocket was launched to the runway and the crawler was launched at the launch pad and driven over. Or they were designed as one vehicle and all he did was decouple it and move it a bit out from underneath.
Hours just to move the rocket by legit means over video game magic...wow. Your dedication, attention to detail, and sense of humor keep me coming back every time you upload. I'm never disappointed. Plus, I learn something new frequently, but isn't entirely beneficial since I play on console. We're still waiting for the robotics parts. 😆 And the folded rover was amazing.
I usually don’t leave any comments on any videos, but this on - wow! I play KSP too, and I still amazes me, what people can do in this game! But I think you, sir outdone yourself with this one! Bravo! Definitely subscribed to your channel! Many very useful tips and interesting videos, which helped me a lot! Thank you! Keep them coming!
Some day Shadowzone will evolve into the legendary Shadowscott. However that event is said to occur when Pluto is considered a planet by scientists again.
Not sure if this is already a common thing people do, but for robotic parts like the fairing at 5:50 that need to be stable during ascent, I like to put a radial decoupler that has struts connecting to each of the moving parts to keep it stable on launch. When you detach the decoupler, it will take the strut with it and free it up. Like I said, don't know if people already do this or not, but it is a trick I use quite a bit.
The rocket proved stronger than the launch pad! 🤣🤣🤣 I'm too tired to comment properly, but there's so much good stuff in this video. The tower all working was a highlight.
Very nice tower recreation, the way you had kerbals walk the gangway to the command pod was unexpected and awesome lol, and that rover deployment was really nice. I'm still haveing issues getting any robotic parts working the way I want them to. tried getting just a basic probe rover for an unmanned mission to work but it wouldnt unfold.
You went the wrong way around the moon. They entered lunar orbit ahead of the Moon in its orbit to take advantage of the slight gravity assist in decelerating to orbital speed. When looking down on the Apollo flight path from above the ecliptic plane, it should look like a figure 8.
Just a suggestion for later vids Theres a mod called modular launch pads that is literally built to make functional realistic launchpads for historic launches
Only critiques I've got are the lack of ullage thrusters and... Well Apollo 11 not carrying a rover. (Though, that deployment was smooth, amazing work)
everything is perfect, but if I can make one critique, its that you used 2 different engines for the lander, I managed to make a lander with 2 stages and 1 engine, you could have found a way around it ;) But anyway, very great job !
The original Lunar Module also only had 2 engines. One for the descent stage and one for the ascent stage. Only the planned Soviet LK lander craft had one engine set and would leave the landing legs behind.
What was the point of putting ullage motors if you not use them haha. Same for the antenna ! The robotic rover was so cool though! Good job anyway. AGAIN.
I'm jelly of the robotic parts!!! Also how did u get the rocket to stay straight? Every time I try to launch mine they wobble and the payload falls out of the fairings! Any help will be greatly appreciated!
I barely made it. Also, you could use the CSM to initiate the deorbit burn, then undock the LEM and get the CSM back to a safe orbit. Saves somewhere around 200 m/s of dV.

this is an awesome build, well done
Nice video. Another minor detail that I noticed, making it different from Apollo 11(apart from the rover): no free return trajectory. But as I said, minor detail.
Imagine the chaos if a windstorm blew the saturn V and the tower over but still perfectly intact
Best part is he had to move the rocket out of ksc before filming. So it's twice as long as he said

This is why I love playing KSP.
The rover deploying was so satisfying
I congratulate you on the structural stability of the Rocket and the Launchtower!
Btw, the saturn v in real life had a twr of 1.15 (first stage)
@Akshay Gowrishankar weight doesn't matter for acceleration, TWR does
@@QuackingQuietly weight does, however effect twr.
It is called the thrust to weight ratio after all.
@Akshay Gowrishankar You do realize that if you have enough power, you can lift 3000 tonnes off the pad in 1 second right? Its TWR that matters
@Akshay Gowrishankar the way you worded it made it seem that anything that has a lot of weight is gonna be slow

I think the LEM fairings were jettisoned on the third stage after Apollo 7. We should have swapped upper stages :)

This is one hell of a build
The crawler moved at 1 mph and the track from the VAB to the launch pad was around 3-5 miles, so it took some time

slight inaccuracy the ascent stage of the LEM was deorbited and crashed into the moon after the astronauts transferred into the service module
I don’t understand how you compacted the rover into that tiny of a space with fuel tanks and had enough delta v for the decent stage
