There are a LOT of people who like and continue to shop at Times. I shop at the Times in town. IMO, it's terrible and sad that so many foreign corporations are buying property and companies in Hawai'i. 😢 Most of them don't genuinely care about Hawai'i. 😢
Wish I knew you would be in my neighborhood, would have love to get a selfie. Love the new looks of our Times Royal Kunia. Enjoy your visit to our islands and stay safe. Excellent video of Don Quiote. If you went up the street from behind DQ you'd find our Walmart, some prices much lower, like milk. Aloha!
I live in Honolulu and I didn’t even know that they changed the Royal Kunia Times into this! They need to make this in the Honolulu area! Thanks for making this video!
@ That one has become run down over the years and is not Times. That is just Don Quixote. There is also so many homeless in the area. If you like going to that store go for it.
Hey Chris! Well, the algorithm somehow sent your vlog to me and, as someone who has visited Donpen Times, I was curious to see your take. GREAT coverage! My first impression when I went in was that it's more Don Quijote than Don Quijote! Of course, they don't have the clothing, electronics, garden and housewares, but pretty much everything else! I believe they created this because Don Quijote in Waipahu is closing on December 31. There will be a replacement, but it's in Kapolei, so this Donpen Times will be good for the Waipahu community.
Wow I didnʻt even realize this store was open! Thanks for showing it! Iʻll tell people to check out your video to see this cause I donʻt get out to this side much. Mahalo!
They did this because Waipahu Don Quixote, moving to the okd Kmart location in Kapolei, and Waipahu (Farrington) Times are closing. So they are trying to keep the Waipahu Don qui customers. I just hope they end up ooening 24 hrs like the current Don Quixote.
I think this Times Supermarket is a pretty good spot because I got one "Taste of Times" in Mililani. Not sure if the "Aloha Iced Tea" and "All the rice you can want" is what this channel wants to propagate in "the mainland USA". :)
It looks like most of the Don Quijote stores. Certainly a larger selection of Asian foods than most of the Times Supermarkets but definitely not as Asian focused as Marukai (also owned by Pan Pacific). It looks like it has more floor space than the typical Times but maybe not as much as a typical Don Quijote. I wonder if they went with this sort of hybrid store because of that.
Sorry... I didn't catch where you said this new store was located at? I'm barely keeping my eye's open right now. LOL. 1:11pm Hawai'i Time. Thanks for sharing. Mahalo! ❤❤❤
Hello from Japan! Looks interesting! I lived in Hawaii for many years before moving back to Japan, but still has a Times feel with a Japanese twist on it. Looks expensive though, but that’s nothing new living in Hawaii.
I got a shopping bag from Times Beretania that says Donki. It must have been one of their first name ideas, that ended up being rejected. It's probably worth millions by now.
You're wonderful Chris! I know you have a love of Asia culture ,people, and food. Japanese things a favorite of you're. Right? I have tried some Japanese foods, like cooked Sushi rolls ,Tempura, Miso soup, Chicken katsu, etc. Once when working at a small health food store in San Diego, I tried some Japanese "Seaweed " chips, potato starch, seaweed and Wasabi. Good flavor, a small bag, like $3.00i n 1990, I loved them as they were so different. I can't find them anywhere or even on-line.
😂😅 Thanks to biden & camela even Costco is expensive not like when TRUMP was PRESIDENT! Hawaii people are LOLO! Voting for the communist Marxist antifa lovers!
Sad that a foreign corp. bought Times. 😢 IMO, it's terrible that so many foreign corporations are buying property and companies in Hawai'i. 😢 Most of them don't genuinely care about Hawai'i, they're only interested in filling their pockets. 😢 Hawai'i needs stricter regulations about allowing individuals and companies from outside Hawai'i from purchasing/owning property here... particularly those who don't live FULL TIME in Hawai'i. 💪⛰️🤙
I don't know a single person who ever liked Times, its got to be an improvement.

I go there all the time. The workers there are awesome and are always super friendly.
Hi Chris. Thank you for showing the DonPen Times! Enjoying your December daily videos. 🤙🌺

Why? There’s a Don Quijote in town. That's enough.

I’m impressed you went there, it’s far from the tourist places. I live near that and even I haven’t been there yet
I like to seek out new things 😀

Ventured out to my hometown! Gutsy! haha kidding...kinda maybe 😅
Wow I didn’t know they combined this new store. I live about 20 minutes away. You gotta check out Tokyo Central in Kailua. That’s a new store too.
I will check it out next time I’m in Kailua!

94-615 Kupuohi Street, Waipahu, HI 96797
It's what used to be called the Royal Kunia location.
@wademiyataki9221 Thank you! 😊

What happened to our local Times Supermarket?! It feels like I'm now in Japan.

Indeed I do enjoy Japanese things ☺️
just go to any Asian super market just look for the brand Tao kae noi seaweed
Aloha
You should visit Marukai next
There’s plenty of these in cali
The store address is missing a digit. Should be 94-615
Thanks for the correction! Cut and paste error 😀
I did not about this, BUT MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE DON QUOITE in Kailua. I forget the name
Tokyo Central 😀
I don't like what they did to my Times, but it is what it is.
Sooooo, its a Don Quijote wanna be, got it
We also love H-mart in Arcadia, CA. A restaurant in the store has the best chicken katsu lunch!
Mmmm
2:18 So far, it's the same things you can get anywhere.
EBT not eligible? Nope 😢
Jesus Christ. It looks expensive bro.
Show more prices. You past so much with no price tags. How much were the regular things that are cheap in the mainland. 🤦🏽♂️
too expensive. they are overpriced now.
Too expensive! Milk at Costco is way cheaper! Will not shop here.
