We used to occupy the old Makati Stock Exchange Bldg. then transferred to the Ayala Tower One building where the current Philippine Stock Exchange is located. That's where my mom grew up in Poblacion Makati, just near the Church of Saint Peter and Paul Parish, and we three siblings were also born there. My late father who is from Bohol was able to work in Mandarin Oriental for 30 years. Hi to my uncles and cousins, they still live there. Thank You sir for this video 👍 God Bless

We spent several days in this Mandarin property when it was still existing. The room was elegantly designed, amenities upscale. The best daiquiri I ever had! It is truly Mandarin brand hotel service.
Sir FYI the old site of Mandarin Hotel is now the new Ayala Land Premier PARK CENTRAL SOUTH TOWER. A 69 floor private residential development with a boutique Mall at lower levels. Also designed by architectural firm of Leandro Locsin and Partners.

I work in the Makati before,so many new things and building .I can’t remember now I usually get off in the main st. Ayala. I remember hotel peninsula in the corner.
nalungkot ako ksi jan ako nag work since 1996 pa, nang malaman ko na giniba na at itinayo ang bagong mandarin oriental na ngayon sy ayala malls triangle garden na, haaaysst, panahon nga naman 😥😥😥
From what I understand, Mandarin Oriental was demolished because of many reasons but mainly due to it's electrical system that is no longer convenient. It is wasting up electricity, a sort of parasite. I always see this building as I worked for the first 10 years of my career after graduation at UCPB, right in front of it. Years later, prior to its scheduled demolished, I worked for one of its director, Mr. Limcauco. He's the one who told me that they're mulling the idea of retrofitting its electrical system as against it's total demolition. Obviously, the latter won.
I lived in Makati for 29 years, my familiar shopping place is around SM, QUAD, Makati square, etc., but now I think I'm going to get lost in the area, it is so different. I would probably need a tour guide to get a round when I visit next time.
This intersection of Makati Ave & Paseo brings back lots of memories. Btw, the previous spot of the old Mandarin Oriental Hotel is now the location of Park Central Towers, a 2-tower luxury residential condo by Ayala Land Premier.

I work in the Makati before,so many new things and building .I can’t remember now I usually get off in the main st. Ayala. I remember hotel peninsula in the corner.
nalungkot ako ksi jan ako nag work since 1996 pa, nang malaman ko na giniba na at itinayo ang bagong mandarin oriental na ngayon sy ayala malls triangle garden na, haaaysst, panahon nga naman 😥😥😥
From what I understand, Mandarin Oriental was demolished because of many reasons but mainly due to it's electrical system that is no longer convenient. It is wasting up electricity, a sort of parasite. I always see this building as I worked for the first 10 years of my career after graduation at UCPB, right in front of it. Years later, prior to its scheduled demolished, I worked for one of its director, Mr. Limcauco. He's the one who told me that they're mulling the idea of retrofitting its electrical system as against it's total demolition. Obviously, the latter won.

I lived in Makati for 29 years, my familiar shopping place is around SM, QUAD, Makati square, etc., but now I think I'm going to get lost in the area, it is so different. I would probably need a tour guide to get a round when I visit next time.

Btw, the previous spot of the old Mandarin Oriental Hotel is now the location of Park Central Towers, a 2-tower luxury residential condo by Ayala Land Premier.
The original building of san miguel corp in the 80's is now the HSBC head office located at corner of Ayala Ave cor Paseo de Roxas.
