I used to spend summer school holidays in Bridge St in the early 50s. With my aunt & uncle. I remember the Frontier & Savoy cinemas. Also Edward St station from Belfast, Dublin Bridge station to Warrenpoint and another station that used to go to Omeath & Dundalk. Cheers from Australia.
This is wonderful. My late parents Sean and Rose Doran both came from surrounding areas of Newry ( Miegh and Camlough respectfully) and I personally spent a lot of time on holidays going to stay with my relatives. My uncle ( Joe Doran) lives in Emmit st and I have various cousins around Newry and bessbrook. And I'm moving to BELFAST so I shall be a frequent visitor to Newry. Great video and music. Gerry.
@@densoath5714 Many thanks for your reply. Yes it did bring back a lot of happy memories. I'm on my way to Belfast soon and a trip up to Newry ☘️ is high on my list.👍
Went up to newry a few months ago still love newry but hasn't it changed the market once a thriving place almost like the mara Celeste. But NEWRY still has the warmth and charm.
