I’ve enjoyed this series of vids Tina, thanks for sharing 😀 If you’ve not already done it, I’d recommend Switzerland, Austria and Northern Italy (the lakes) as an opportunity to do some of the alpine passes - you’d enjoy the scenery, and Henry will love the roads.
@@teenytinatravels I am also Phil. I now have my second Caterham here in the USA. My mother was a Cavanagh. Her grandfather John Cavanagh was born in Liverpool and came to Saint Paul. His father John Cavanagh was born in Ireland and was Merchant Seaman bassed in Liverpool, . His father Darby Cavanagh was born in Ireland and is buried in Liverpool.Records for Irish people are easier to find if they lived in England. My 1991 1700 Super Sprint used to live in Northwich.
A fab series of videos presented in your own unique style. Tricky getting the car to Iceland so I now say head south to Switzerland for the roads and scenery.
Fair play for taking on that trip in a 7. South of France is a long way down, but the roads, (Route Nepoleon, Gorge du Verdon, etc.), and scenery are worth it. Base yourself in Digne.
Great series, many thanks. I agree Switzerland is brilliant, have a look at the Swiss Grand Tour - northern bit is a bit too industrial but if you go clockwise from Lucerne - (don’t miss the wooden bridge, they are very proud of it) it just gets better and better. Also go back to Lucerne and keep then keep going south to southern Italy (but avoid Naples if you ever want to see the car again) as that’s great as well (and cheaper than Switzerland).
My girlfriend and I are a week away from our first addition to the family… a green and yellow 270S so we’ve both watched your vids with interest and smiled and chuckled along too, having watched them all Jemma is now anxiously searching for ear warmers and heated seat pads. We hope to one day get to drive France, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Italy and maybe Germany (maybe visiting you know where 🤫). I’d recommend France because it’s on our doorstep and some of roads away from the Cities are stunning, especially down towards the south. Hope you are both doing well and the Caterham is still ticking along nicely too. Sean & Jemma.
Hiya Tina and Henry, Fabulous to stay with you on your trip,I've just arrived back from Spain and France, all the way along the piranese mountains to the Pecos de Europa, just the job for the caterham, good roads and unbelievably quiet, try it! We went from aguablava to Santander,.....
Switzerland is a great trip. Take the toll motorways from Calais (they’re worth it - quiet with great stops). Lucerne is the gateway to the big mountains & imho the nicest of all Swiss towns. Furka pass is v scary (no barriers) but has the famous hotel, Bond connection & the ice cave, Grimsel pass is ok. Stelvio is good (has barriers). Gottard tunnel is ok & quick to Como etc. I loved my Caterham - best car that I ever owned. Enjoy.
Thanks for posting, I have enjoyed following your trip. As a long time Caterham owner myself, I can thoroughly recommend an "Intercom" I have SENA, but others are available. You will not believe just how much of a difference being isolated from the noise will improve your drives! (And your experience of traveling with a loved one!) 😜😜.
Me too Ben! I really want to go and I think it would be such an adventure in the Caterham, it's looking pretty expensive though so we will have to see.
Committed 😁 Iceland would be cool but fkippin’ expensive I suspect to get car there. Spa and Le Mans are not too far away if another boys trip. Onvs Scotland is big on scenery. If you wanted to go much further you could use the Auto Train from Paris to south if France, Italy,Austria etc.
We did a short car club trip to Bremen - realised we could drive a couple of hours, get on the ferry to Iceland (three days!) do a two week tour, ferry back, drive home. Pointed out to other half it was only a total of 6 days on a ferry across the notoriously flat North Sea. For some reason she was not that enthusiastic 😢
I'm not sure where in the UK you're based, but Wales is an epic drive, I live in the south and there's some cracking places (See my channel!) and of course up around the Snowdon area... Not quite a two week trip, but you could definitely have a couple of nights away (Though maybe wait until it's not -6c)
Cool video. Got to love a 7 in the winter when you're legs are on fire from the heater and your top half has frost bite :)
Do you? 🤣

Thank you Mark! I have never been to Austria or Switzerland actually but it's for sure on our list, Henry for the road and me for the scenery.
I really want a Caterham 7.....and after watching you and Henry touring the continent in 1...I REALLY REALLY want 1
You guys are legends for this
Thank you Phil, life is too short... get the car!

Iceland and Switzerland are two I really want to go to! Haven't been to either yet!

We were in the SOF last month with work and we will have to do a trip the in Caterham it's so cool down there!
Looks like you both had a great time on this trip.
It made very good viewing.
Thank you! Yup it was so much fun!
Yes, Iceland! Love your videos. Watching in Texas.
Oh wow! Texas is for sure on my bucket list. Glad to hear you are enjoying the videos!
Iceland is beautiful. But take or rent a Land Rover… unless Henry is up for converting his Seven like James May on the Grand Tour…

Maybe a walk around of the caterham will be a good idea? And some specs?

Ya Iceland would take a chunk of time to do! 6 days on the ferry!
Wish you would put out more videos
If you were to go to Iceland what route would you take as there is no directs ferry’s from the uk
You are correct there is no direct ferry from the UK! There is a ferry from Norway however it takes 3 days!

We did a few nights in Wales already and Henry's gone on some solo trips there too. I think we will have to go back though loved it there!
