Oh Lord what is with you people?!? The guy is moving. At his new home he has no room for Sovanna. His only option was to bring her here snd try to get her assimilated in with another troop. This is where the monkeys are and this is where you should bring one if it needs to live wild. There is no problem with turning monkeys loose to go be with a troop. Most monkeys that are even tempered do just fine. The monkeys that begin swiping at members of the troop as they approach curiously will in turn be met with hostility. Plenty of monkeys get released there at the temples and go on to live long lives. What you people want to get all emotional about is doing things that scare the poor monkey. Their little screams just tug on your heart strings. The peoblem is not the monkeys or how they act, the problem is that you don’t understand them. Monkeys do not hunt other animals. They derive their nutrition from fruit, moldy nuts and rotten bits of food particles they find laying on the ground. They are 99% herbivores but they eat an occasional bug or spider. Because they don’t hunt other animals, they come in squarely at the bottom of the food chain and they are hunted by every carnivorous predator around them. Instead of developing some natural way to defend themselves from attack, evolution has handed them a set of skills that make them world class climbers and their balance and dexterity is off the charts. They do not try and fight, they run and hide. This means that a monkeys strength is tied to its propensity to be become terrified of anything it does nit understand. Reacting to situations in a terrified manner, screaming, walking around looking pathetic with their shoulders hunched over in submission, these are a monkeys strengths. So many of you seem to think that someone is abusing and torturing these animals and that is obviously why they act pathetic like they do. But if they do thats ok too, because there ate millions of monkeys and they are extremely overpopulated, causing food shortages and desperate measures. They populate probably better than any other mammal in the wild. Its always best to reserve your feelings and not allow animals in a wild setting to dictate what you think. You get this idea that assigning these things human names and watching videos of them often on RUclips somehow protects them and makes them immune to predators but at any moment any of your favorite monkeys could get snatched and pulled to pieces and eaten alive and possibly fed to another animals babies.
