You can look forward to being asked what you ate today, multiple times per day, for weeks.

Thank you for the observations you have posted. The problem I feel I'm facing is that I tend to never have conversations about 'what did you eat today?' or 'what are your hobbies?', nor do I discuss Amine or Gaming, but rather personal philosophical perspectives/observations regarding culture, politics, sciences and issues with (dare I say it?) a deeper meaning. I know it's impossible to simply jump into such topics in a foreign language, but there has to be a way to have topics with substance and still using basic sentences and grammar structures. Perhaps it's my age (57) or the fact I've never taken a 'selfie' that makes me a bit different. Also, the vocabulary in textbooks does center around the world of high school and college students (indeed the majority of students learning a language) which makes it very difficult for those who have this brief phases of life far behind them.

Thank you for watching my video^^
If your purpose is to be able to speak Japanese, it’s better to do it step by step. Talking from basic topic would be great start and once you get to know each other, maybe try to difficult and deep topic:)
      I love any topics haha

Thank you for the great video! You said exactly how I feel! I’m always afraid I’m going to make a mistake, so I get so nervous when speaking Japanese, even though I know a lot of vocabulary and grammar, and can read kanji, katakana, and hiragana. My bilingual Japanese friends and family will speak to me in Japanese, and I typically answer them in English. I will definitely use your steps to improve.
