the sad part about JP game decline is that they never innovate anymore...
JP side used to have the most whacky new mechanic that would interest me but now it's just milking the same franchise for nostalgia sake
on the other hand as you've said CN side of gaming is rapidly evolving and everyone is always coming up with the new unique thing, and because of the population and past reputation it's heavily shunned to plagarize stuff so they try to make it as unique as possible (don't try to argue about animation since that's another story) but they always comes up with new game world and stories, that's why JP gaming industry which is not innovatin enough is going into a decline.
even JP gacha game is not evolving either like dang....

Totally. There are only a few new IPs in the recent years. It is too much of risk for game publishers to release new IPs as the development cost are quite high nowadays. SO the safest way is to keep it in the traditional way, which they can ensure their revenues

Chinese games? Genshin? What a joke 😂

    • @VierzheTsuu

@@Fleshlight_Reviewer nobody was saying anything about genshin.... But basically anything new in the anime game genre that has something new in it is usually from CN side nowadays
While JP is dishing out the same game over and over again from the same IP for nostalgia sake
Which is cool for the first like 4 games but if it comes to the nth game it's just getting redundant
Not talking about FF ofc cuz they had different mechanic for most of their game but these days i've been seeing them sludge into the KH combat territory....

Yeah its a shame but the video game industry is actually in a very dark place right now and most people choose not to talk about it because of terrible history with mental illness Awareness

For old people who won't use smartphone, why? I'm from SE Asia and my 70+ year old grandma uses smartphone. She learn and adapt. She enjoys it since it's easier to communicate with her family.
Could the work schedule be problematic for JP gaming industry? Even the West has time crunch when it comes to game development so I imagine the work hours for JP gaming industry must be crazy.
As for Chinese games, I wish some of them are not micro-transaction heavy. The likes of Genshin is not for me. I'm more old school where I prefer searching or unlocking weapons/clothes/accessories. Can't help it since I'm a bit of a completionist lol.

Many elderlies in Japan refuse to learn new tech, they say they think it is too complicated for them.
Work schedule could be one problem too. Simply because lack of labors tho.
I dont like micro-transaction too. I would rather play a retro game that I can grind to unlock things. Reading all those old player's guide makes me feel so great to learn how to obtain the items I want.

Sweet intro ! Is that a new outfit for your 3D model? It looks amazing ! And I mostly agree with you on the mobile gaming industry. It seems like china is the only country taking mobile gaming seriously.

hmm very interesting to hear the perspective of someone in Japan. The PC market has surpassed the consoles from what I see in the US as well, but maybe less so than in Japan. and yes definitely sad to see China taking over in an industry that was previously dominated by Japan. And I guess the main issue being that they are taking the animation style that japan has popularized, so many in the west don't even realize or care that something is made by the Chinese instead of the Japanese. China's population being gigantic makes it so Japan will have to have great training practices to hope to surpass them again. It is somewhat similar with America competing with China. If I was in position in politics I would want to allocate funds away from ESports player training (if that is where it is going) and towards training developers etc.
