I’m 45 years old and I feel dead inside since I was 19. Each day, putting a smile on my face and playing the guy enjoying life but howling to death in my head. When I was 19, I decided to die but something wrong happened about my father and my mother was so in need of my help I had to stay alive. Alive… it’s just a word after all. Just like an actor playing a role. And when I feel cold, I can warm up with this total hate against myself. And now I’m a father and my son needs me. He didn’t choose to come to the world. Actually, as a french speaking person, the lyrics are really not that deep, they are quite simple. However, that's the whole context around the song, his personal problems that he delt with in his life, and the atmosphere in the music, that make this song so amazing. The instrumental part really feel like it squeezes your chest and makes difficult to breath.
