Thank you for the review. My son has a hard time sitting still for TGTB independent review sections, but has no issues with the unit tests they provide. I was thinking of switching to MM or Math with confidence.
I loved how you dug right in to the books without prefacing too much and adding too much anecdotal information. All of that doesn't matter so much as an objective look at what the books are geared for. I really appreciated this and was happy not to watch another lengthy wordy homeschool video. No offense, really, but it's like there's so much to filter through i don't have time to watch videos that just want to divulge loads of opinions.
Wow! I’ve been using TGTB, but considering changing once we’re done. I never realized just how much TGTB math is “all over the place” until I saw the other 2 flip-throughs. The only thing holding be back is the legit beauty of it. But like you said, there’s a lot of pre-reading involved for the parent. Now to decide between MM & MWC lol
Yes and no. My problem was that they were both pretty intensive, so I didn't end up using them. Most people might not find that a problem, I just needed something simple, low prep.
So, for the Math with Confidence, are the teacher guide reading portions/instructions shorter than TGTB math teacher reading excerpts? We’re currently using TGTB math 1 and I do feel like it’s a bit all over the place.🥴
I don't know about shorter but repetitive so you know what you do each lesson. It has a predictable pattern so takes me about 5 minutes to read it. It also has boxes that explain why you're teaching this concept. TGATB didn't seem to have those. I also felt TGATB was too all over the place for me.
I have no idea. An iPad? Lol. Could you describe it a bit? I would say snap ships or if it looks electronic it would be snap circuits. He plays with them often. Shows them in videos a fair bit
Love this review. Straight to the point

I love Math With Confidence. 10 minutes a day of bonding time and learning :)

I often vasilate between MM and MWC. I like both. And you're right - TGATB is beautiful!
We have Kindergarten Math with confidence and really like it. It’s very well done.

What kind of gadget was your son playing with?
