The morning roll-call with Sgt Esterhaus was always a good watch, never quite the same when Jablonski took over. Brilliant show, funny and entertaining, but always had that serious note running through it.
I'm Dutch and HSB was unlike any other police show. It was fast, realistic and absolutely amazing. The actors were sublime. Even the music and the little meauw at the end were memorable. To this day, it's my favorite cop show.
Daniel J Travanti was so frustrated with Hollywood, that he was about to move to NYC and restart his acting career on the stage before he got the Hill Street role. Travanti was terrific as Frank Furillo, and he and Veronica Hamel were dynamite together. Great show.
Became a cop in 1985 and had a 34 year career. Main influences were Adam-12, a friend who became a cop 2 years before me, and Hill Street Blues. Each one highlighted the virtues of the profession.
I'm also a Brit & found this series top quality in all aspects of production, seriously excellent TV! Best all-time series for me was again a US series, the 1970s Roots! Today, here on British TV we have such poor, mundane series, most are all about murders, British television producers are totally obsessed with murder & the scripts are like painting by numbers, so utterly boring!
I'm also a Brit and the theme tune from Hill Street Blues is pretty much all I remember from its original airing on tv here in the UK. A few years ago Channel 4 showed reruns of it in the afternoons and I was able to appreciate what a brilliant show it was.
Mimi Kuzyk so heartbreakingly beautiful and lovely!!’ With such a soft sultry. Trinidad Silva died way too young age 38 a year or so after making the film Colors with Sean Penn and Robert Duvall. Ed Marinaro- All American RB at Cornell still looks like he is athletic. Ed doesn’t look his age unlike Robert Clohessy bBruce Weitz what a great character Actor!!! Belker was my favorite character.Mimi Kuzyk soft sultry voice.
Can't believe some of them died so young! Tragic! Oh I loved that program. Actors WERE Actors. I gave up watching any TV or films years ago as it's all junc now compared to pre-internet shows.
Had to be Chicago or Milwaukee, only cities where you will see an Old Style sign outside a bar. Well maybe Twin cities but they weren’t that gritty back in the 80’s. Out of state guys I was with at Great Lakes thought it was a chain of bars called Old Style
The older picture of Barbara Babcock is not the actress. This is another lady with the same name. I wish these sites would do their homework. That's why you can't take these sites seriously!!
Yes, I noticed that too. The Barbara Babcock shown is from Stanford Law School and is deceased. Not the same facial features at all, don't know how they didn't see that.
I loved Hill St Blues, i still remember the moment it finally hit me that the gang leaders name "Heyzoos" was actually Jesus! Sad to hear of his early tragic death - I remember taping Hill Street Blues every week, had so many VHS tapes with "Do Not Use - Hill Street Blues!" written on them, still love the Theme Song over the opening titles as that black & white slides round the corner! and hey, hey, HEY! ..... let's be careful out there!
That picture is a Barbara Babcock a Law professor at Standford University. I appreciate the disclaimer for information accuarcy but I feel this one they should have gotten right. Kinda Lazy reserach if I found it so could they.
There was a spin-off that was ultimately cancelled: "Hill Street Jews", join the toughest Hebe cops on the force as they track down a deli clerk who tried to kill a sale.
Was devoted follower when HSB was on the air. Taped it every week. Liked most of the characters. Could not stand Barbara Bosson's role. Same old thing every ep, whiney ex wife. Very annoying. Usually FFed thru her scenes. Also didn't care for the Davenport-Furillo marriage. That stunk too.🤮 Find the show unwatchable now. Trinidad Silva had some bad luck in real life. 😪 A few years later I watched Homicide:Life on the Street. Much better and still holds up.
I'm a Brit, and never missed Hill Street Blues. Quite simply the best US cop show ever.
Absolutely, nothing has/will ever come close 👍👍👍
I too am a Brit and i totally agree, I never missed it. By far the best US cop programme.
Yes we here in New Zealand loved the show as well but everyone hated the Fay Furillo character, she spoilt it😊
I watched them when I was in college. How much I miss the series and the eighties!!!
Absolutely
Wonderful, Oh I loved Hill Street Blues 🤗
Wow, this really brings back a lot of memories. I used to watch this show as a kid.
The morning roll-call with Sgt Esterhaus was always a good watch, never quite the same when Jablonski took over. Brilliant show, funny and entertaining, but always had that serious note running through it.
Let's be careful out there
@@waynegodfrey8565 Don't forget the "Hey!" and the pause to get everyone's attention first.
Oh how I loved watching this show.... let's be careful out there!
Without doubt the greatest ever American cop tv series!! Brilliant!!😊
One off my favorite series! Never missed an episode!
Still my favourite television show 2024 I'm still watching the replays for the 10th thousand time 😆 🤣 😂 😹
Loved Hill Street Blues....wow time flies! I was in my 20's and just married when I was watching this. Good times.
I'm a Brit and absolutely loved this show. The theme tune is my ringtone
Wow
One of my favorite cop shows....gritty yet funny and lots of action. Characters developed with the show.
One of the good Cop shows from the 80s.
Agree

One of my favorite crime shows. Well done, intelligent...with its own sense of humor. Enjoy every episode. Thank you for sharing this!
I loved Hill Street Blues. Never missed it. Thanks for the update!

Travanti was a gay man, but he and Hamel had something special!
My fav show back in the day…..let’s be careful out there!
How time flies.

I came on the job in ‘87. My goal was to be the Andy Renko of my department.
Just a Classic Show.........
Never missed a episode ! Monday night's were ace ❤
And Dallas , oh boy , what a show , that shower scene , brilliant
I always had the hots over Joyce. What an outstanding show!

Great series. Realised I watch this with my wife religiously in our 20ies. Such a long time ago.
Also watched it with my wife in the 80’s

TS was broadsided in an auto accident.
@ I remember reading about Trinidad s death in the LA Times. I felt like I lost a close friend even though I never met him.
BEST SHOW EVER
The mrs and I are watching it just now, brilliant telly
Best show ever even down to the music it will never be surpassed.
Great show!
Really enjoyed this series. Hard to find it streaming anywhere..
I love the Hill Street Blues Theme

Hey ,hey ,hey , hey ...lets be careful out there huh ....Brilliant and set the standard for every single crime show ever since .
Was a brilliant show in uk every monday nite rushed home to see it
Hill street blues. The only American tv series I’ve ever really enjoyed.
Try Babylon 5. You won't regret it.
Can't believe some of them died so young! Tragic! Oh I loved that program. Actors WERE Actors. I gave up watching any TV or films years ago as it's all junc now compared to pre-internet shows.
Loved this show! The theme music AWESOME! Just still never said what city this was, I always said Chicago.

Best cop show ever!
What a great tv show
Hill Street Blues
Hill Street Blues
Hill Street Blues
I got those Hill Street Blues
Just watched the whole series again on more 4 favourite show ever❤❤
I need to get into this acting malarkey: they're almost all well into their 70s or 80s!
Loved that show
Cool video
Best cop show of all time at least the first few years were.
Jeffery Tambor went on to do so many amazing roles afterwards
The best " cop " and most realistic show ever ! Best " Detective " show ever was NYPD Blue !
Joe Spano went on to play FBI agent Fornell in NCIS
I did like the Series and I did like the Music
Most are living and seem to be well. Good dentists.
I ALWAYS thought BETTY THOMAS was cute !!!!! And belkers wife Robin was REALLY CUTE !!!!!!
Megan Gallagher(Tina Russo) and Lisa Suton(Robin Tataglia) both killer beautiful.

Robert Clohessy plays Lt. Sid Gormley, in "Blue Bloods".
Streets of San Francisco was a good show too. Best tv came from America 🇺🇸. Starsky and hutch, Cagney and lacey.
When the licence was worth the money
You missed David Caruso and Linda Hamilton (although not really regulars)
The now photo of Barbara Babcock is incorrect. You have used the photo of another Barbara Babcock who worked at Stanford Law School and is deceased.
I forgot Ken Ohlin was on this show before he was on 30 something
Veronica Hamel could have cameo'd in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, as a nightwatch woman of Big Shell.
Joyce was the only reason I watched HSB.
They should have developed Bobby Hills character more.
The now for Barbara Babcock does not appear to be her.
Was gonna say the same thing
Kind of wondering about that myself?!
That picture is a Barbara Babcock a Law professor at Standford University. I appreciate the disclaimer for information accuarcy but I feel this one they should have gotten right. Kinda Lazy reserach if I found it so could they.
I agree as well, it's not her.
Travanti now looks like Bruce Forsyth!😂
Be careful out there..👍
Female actors generally have aged better than the male actors and more male actors have passed away.
I'm american and I have never once seen the show.
Maybe it's all the Babcock?
You missed belker
No, they didn't. He's at the 51 second mark.
Hey Lets be careful out there.
Megan Gallagher is missing...
How about 'Buck Naked'?
The now for Lisa Sutton is definitely not her.
How about David Caruso?
He was in NYPD Blue
@@kathyconrad9891 He was an Irish gang leader in Hill Street before NYPD Blue.
True. The Shamrocks, if memory serves.
First Blood.

The worst show in the history of television.
The worst comment in the history of posts! 🤬
