Incredible video. With this I went from 0 to fully operational with my own Sphere-O-Bot, just in time for easter. Can't wait to have the fanciest Easter Egg around!
Great video. We need more egg-bots in the world. I made the same model egg-bot a few years ago. For adjusting the driver potentiometer, at recommend using an alligator clip that can attach to the screwdrivers metal part. You can then adjust "on the fly" with readout on the multimeter as you turn.
@@twretro Once more, thank you. But I have one question. Are you able to control the speed of the servo lifting the pen up? I am simply not able to adjust the speed of lowering the pen. Pen tip is hitting the egg hardly.... Tried everything in Inkscape...
So this helped me get my eggbot going. Although during the process I discovered I had a bad cheap uno clone that would behave erratically and had spotty serial communication. I got an elegoo clone which just worked wonderfully. Although I did have to modify the ebb_serial file to arduino uno and had to match my vid and pid but then it finally worked flawlessly. Just in time for Easter
Of course: #define step1 4 #define dir1 7 #define enableRotMotor 8 #define rotMicrostep 16 //MicrostepMode, only 1,2,4,8,16 allowed, because of Integer-Math in this Sketch //Pen Stepper: #define step2 2 #define dir2 5 #define enablePenMotor 9 #define penMicrostep 16 //MicrostepMode, only 1,2,4,8,16 allowed, because of Integer-Math in this Sketch
Thank you for this helps allot!!! One more question where could i find matching version of inkscape for mac OS version 11.6 ? I tried with this one but there is no connection to eggbot " Failed to connect to EggBot. :( "
Well... Sorry... I don't know where to find a working Version for Mac OS... Since MAC OS is based on BSD (Linux) I guess that the files in the "extensions"-folder need to be converted so that it finds any devices under "/etc/..." Unfortunately I don't have any MAC OS device to test it...
@@twretro Another issue. Did you had problems with pen stepper not moving smoothly- on mine it is like it is skipping. while the eg rottating is smooth.
@@MrSivkar How did you solve the problem? Also had this with one version of the Plugin... Maybe there is a updated version out there? An other idea would be to set the speed of the port manually to a baud rate of 115200?
@@twretro I used Windows laptop. On mac stil no joy. I think I only do not knowhow to edit the ebb.py properly. And when I install latest inkscape with Axidraw extension ( madscientist wiki) the ebb.py file is nowhere to be found in extensions folder. For now it needs to wait - have other things to do. Hope before next easter i wil find solution.
Hello, friend, I've tried several tutorials but I can't get it to work, it gives me this error. Ciao! Sorry, my Italian is a absolute disaster ;-) I also use Windows 10 for it... so this won't be the problem! Well there are 2 things that come to my mind what can be the problem: First of all: maybe the name of your Arduino is different... Have a look at the device manager and see if its called different! Second: Do you use a special letter in your login name? No joke - someone with the login name "Jörg" told me that it doesn't work... The letter "ö" was a problem so that some programs were not able to work properly... Buon Natale!
Hi, danke für die Anleitung. Bei mir kommen keine Fehlermeldungen mehr, jedoch tut sich absolut gar nichts. Nichts bewegt sich. Kannst du mir einen Rat geben?
If you don't get any error messages try turning up the steps in manual mode to like 30. Odds are it is working but it just appears that it's not cause a step of 5 would be very hard to notice since this machine is set up for micro steps

Thank you for your praise!
EggBots are amazing and fun to watch 😁 great video and great explanations 👍 Happy Easter and happy printing 🐇🐣
Thank you! Happy Easter!
Thank you mate, you solved all problems that I had with my sphere-o-bot clone
Nice! I'm happy about that! Have fun!

I didn't have that much UNO's yet... So I had no bad cheap clone till now.
But good to know
Yeah! Outtakes! :-) Thank you, great video!
Thank you Flo!
Can you give the correct pins for the CNC shield? I am unable to read your screen. Thanks, Joe

This would probably be a good tool for dental aligners laser trimming. You should take a look...
