    sorry but it's not always as straight forward as that, it depends on each games implementation of lag compensation, the algorithm used to determine which players packet stream will be impacted and in what way... Bare in mind it's much easier to delay packets than it is to speed them up.... so which option do you think most game developers will opts for?
    COD seems to delay low ping player packets, to bring them in line with high ping players, so as a low ping player ended up worse off, constantly getting killed after making it to cover, then when you watch the replay your killed in the open, seconds before you make it to cover.
    For these examples we'll use COD:MW or warzone with a tick rate of 20, this = 50ms real world
    Scenarios
    1....Both players have 40ms ping, means a 80ms delay, plus server tick rate delay 50ms, so user input and result on screen can take up to 130ms
    2....Player A has a 20ms ping, player B has a 100ms ping, the lag compensation in this example will try and delay player As packets to bring them inline with player B, but always over compensates, giving player A a total delay of 250ms+, while player B gets the straight up 20+100+50=170ms... this issue here is player As delays is now longer than the in game time to kill.... so how can you be expected to fight back.
    So all that's time you get 1 shot, but watch the clip back and they unload half a clip into you.... scenario 2 is why

    I wish it worked like this. I would be happy to let you play on my current set up. From what I have discovered it is lag compensation is heavily weighted in upload speed. However there is such a large host disadvantage in mw3 due to lag comp. That I am on the fence of not playing any longer and I am a 25 year enthusist player that doesn't claim to be the greatest but I know when Something is off !

    I have owned an xr1000 and now a xr 500. For 3 years and and maybe a hand full of times I’ve felt the router do anything for my desync/hit detection. I have spent 100’s of hours going through all the threads about settings with no assistance from dumaOS… sometimes my isp router felt better gaming, sometimes turning QOS felt better. Now I have that stupid (device not found) in qos. I’ve tried everything susjested on the forums frankly I’m sick of dealing with and expensive paper weight. You will see the same guys chiming in giving their settings and how the go 90-5 a match. But its luck of the draw.
    Final thought after 3 years. Do your research and find a better product

    Except this does nothing for games with dedicated servers that allow high ping players to connect ruining your game because the server is compensating to give them a fair fight.

      Cod. When wired, I have to fix my NetDuma R2 to stick to servers and peers with a connection of 20-30ms. When I don’t set it, I’m getting 40-100ms. Why am I not getting the consistency? Cause cod would rather focus on “balancing” than pin connecting. That’s why 3 games I’m winning with clean gunfights.. and the other 5-6 I’m hitting first landing 4 in a row based on hit marker sound and still losing. Because COD focuses on ping connection rather that lobby randomness. Why? Cause player retention. Multiplayer games are so focused on player retention cause money is quite possibly the hardest thing to work towards.
      Back then, it was easy. Hype. But now.. minimum wage has been raised. Living conditions have been raised. Indie games are better cause they’re made with love without the need to harvest and it shows.
      It’s a cycle. In the gaming world, Bills lead to marketing, marketing leads to retention, retention leads to SBMM, SBMM.. leads to high ping. High ping leads to suffering.
      Games will prioritize retention by making you lose more and more till you get a game where you the player get 20-6. To feel good.. think you can win 3 more then drop Scump in your lobby for 7 games straight. You’re literally gambling your mental health holy shit.

    This is a wild misrepresentation of what happens. If two players turn a corner at exactly the same time, the player with a higher ping has a massive advantage because they will spot the player with lower ping first since their information gets to the server and back to each individual user faster. This is why lag spike hacks are a downloadable thing. In addition, players with bad connections get used to their lag and players with fast connections have to adjust their aim per user with different connection speeds. I resolved lag issues on servers for years and this video is wildly inaccurate in its conclusions.

      Interesting point there. Gaming clearly has radically changed from the days of ping is king. If u are correct which it sounds like u are from a warzone perspective why when EU players play tournaments in NA they get absolutely s*** on because they are playing like 100-150ping ??? Surely there is a counter argument to your statement 🤔

      He's speaking about a certain coding that has been implemented into the architecture of multiplayer games. You're trying to discredit a guy for describing a gaming architecture. You're silly man. This is absolutely nothing new. anybody with half a brain understands that lag compensation helps the guy with the higher ping. If you have a high ping your information will travel slower to and from the server. You will not see the low ping guy first just because you have a high ping. That's hilarious. What happens is the games architecture understands that one guy has a high ping therefore slows the low ping to match it as best as it can. Lag compensation attempts to even the playing field however it's not a perfect solution. In fact quite often it slows the guy with the low ping more than it should and actually gives a lower ping a disadvantage. But this is the price we have to pay for not being able to time travel since you cannot do much for the guy with the high ping you can only manipulate the low ping and make it slower.

    awful video. Where is the scenario of the high ping player swinging on the low ping player? That's the only scenario in which the high ping player has an advantage and it's HUGE. THe low ping player will die no matter what they do, even before they see the high ping player appear on the screen at all.

      I agree with this, lag comp in this instance screws me over an incredible amount of times and my connection is solid. It feels like I am a whole second behind on the server, then an enemy pops and and I'm getting shot before their gun is even fully up. Then I receive a load of bullets in one go!

    • @jamesdriver8148
      @jamesdriver8148 2 месяца назад

      Agree, same experience. I serious doubt developers understand just how bad their netcode is for low ping players and I netduma should not be advertising their routers/software as fix. I bought an XR500 and it did nothing to address lag compensation total waste of money.

  • @sokeeth

    I think it's weird when I'm low ping but I have to lead my shots on almost every enemy even though bullets is not hitting them and Im always easily killed. My lag comp is very bad almost impossible to play against players even if they're bad players. My ping is low but my lag comp is like 1 second behind me.
    If I use a vpn with a higher ping I lead my shots way less and I can see players before anyone reacting like it's slow motion I can easily kill them. But I noticed my lag comp is much worse. I can get killed easily from a very far distance like my character is 4 - 3 seconds back behind me

      Same, i have 4 ms ping, other players have around 60-90 and simply i can't play against them. My shots will not register because i am negatively compensated like 1 seconds delay. There are programs to introduce lag spikes so you are not negatively compensated, but they are illegal though. if i get negatively compensated in a game, i just turn on vpn to add ~50ms ping.

    As someone who has played competitive COD for years, the best ping to have on COD is below 10ms or 40-80ms. You become very hard to kill at 5ms or below and 60ms.

    • @Kolanjie
      @Kolanjie Год назад +2

      I would love a below 10 ms...but i have never seen it in my life 😖

    • @BCGT_Mikee_Dredd
      @BCGT_Mikee_Dredd Год назад +4

      You could never achieve a ping of 5ms & under unless you were on a LAN.
      The game server you're connected to would have to be next door to your house plus the route of your server hops would have to be the shortest/quickest possible.
      Not only that but the first server after your modem/router would have to be right by you also.
      Then there's tv/monitor to take into consideration.
      Sorry but 5ms is impossible.
      Even on a LAN there would be a tiny discrepancy now & again, maybe achieving between 1-5ms.
      EDIT: One more point.
      You're talking about CoD servers here... they aren't exactly the best servers out there, in fact they're far from it.
      I can't prove their server quality but I've played CoD since the first release, (yes, I'm that old) & they're bad, if not the worst servers out there.
      I'm not sure if it's anything to do with their patents which kick in to determine who wins or loses, depending on skill & experience.
      If they used the same servers that were available in games such as Titanfall 2, CoD would be an outstanding multiplayer.
      I use PS so obviously I wouldn't have played the original TF.
      Ironically, I bought TF2 on release as I was sick of CoD's lack of quality & boy, did I make the right decision.
      I only ever played Pilot v Pilot as I wasn't into the whole Titan robot fighting.

    • @BCGT_Mikee_Dredd
      @BCGT_Mikee_Dredd Год назад

      @@Kolanjie You'll never see that ping on a CoD server, trust me.
      I have my Netduma R2 set up quite good right now, when I play Resurgence, the in-game ping reports anything from 18 min - 34 max, roughly.
      It's said in the Netduma forum that the ping numbers shown in CoD are never true anyway so we can't exactly state we're getting that for sure.
      The first day after the update before it calculates your stats was brilliant on Resurgence.
      No lag, great hit-markers, everything & everybody felt even.
      I played 14 games straight through.
      Day 2:
      Back to the norm, typical CoD.... absolute wreck-fest, lag, bs deaths & bullet sponges.
      I quit after around 6 attempts, proceeded to exit the game &... uninstall.
      3 days after, downloaded it again, Thursday just gone... the best night I've ever had on any CoD game or it matched playing W@W or the first Black Ops, loved it.
      Didn't play Friday as I'm in an eSports team.
      I'm just hoping it plays well later...
      I suppose the best thing for me is that I don't pay for CoD, I'd never give them my money anymore, fk multiplayer & the typical copy/paste bs they have pulled like they did in MW2019.
      This way I can die, quit the game or uninstall it anytime I want, knowing I paid them exactly nothing.
      If everyone stopped paying/buying CoD every year, they'd have no choice to stop developing crap , releasing broken games & using patents such as SBMM etc, etc... but nobody will listen.

      How come loads of people bought into Netgear instead of in-house ?
      I understand the Netgear name being popular already & then maybe the advertising but like you said, on the software side, the in-house routers contain more software & recieve fw updates before others.
