      agree anything this size I wouldn't do it either. I "might" would consider a 8-10hp horizontal shaft but and highly doubt I would but I know good and well I wouldn't a vertical. Force being side to side is so much worse than the up and down.

    My experience is that when your
    Riding lawnmower is left outside of a building. You will always have a mouse nest built inside underneath the hood.
    Possibly causing it to over heat then the engine becomes Seized up and won’t turn over anymore. Now you have to tear the entire engine down and give it an overhaul or buy a new motor for the twins cylinders and put on it have a 24 hp 22 or 24 hp Briggs & Stratton industrial motor paste on it then you’ll be able to have the power not only to drive it but the power of the mower to cut the grass a lot better with. Good luck

    Nice AYP craftsman mower there... got a few MTD inspired parts on it... but that's an AYP for sure.... same as Husqvarna. but with that said... Craftsman's were also built by MTD over the years also. Take that top center column off and it can be replaced with an Husqvarna upper center column. and a Husqvarna hood will go on it ... guess it would be called a Husqman or a Craftvarna then. :)

    My 2004 LT1000 had a engine like that...it was probably a 15hp though. Smoked bad for a few summers...had to tighten the head bolts about once a year. Anyway I locked it up and ended up putting another engine in it that was given to me and now do "proper redneck maintenance" it's getting up in years but I just keep fixing on it as stuff breaks. I did change the oil in the original engine but looking back I'm sure I didn't treat it real good.

      Yes but when it comes to the 18 19 20 and 21 of both Briggs and kohler. I find them both to be equal garbage. The 14 to 17.5 hp on the other hand I would rate Briggs way better the kohler. But in anything twin Kohler would get my vote for long term and racing use.

      Had one, the 24HP Briggs was a pile of crap from day 1...always had starting issues, it would randomly die while mowing and wouldn't start again until it had cooled down for 15-30 minutes. At 237 hours one of the connecting rods decided to part ways with itself...wasn't upset when it died either, knew it was a matter of time before that pile of crap blew up.

    Please don't say this or that group generally sucks. Without engineers we would not be living in the world of tech that we have.

    • @redneckcomputergeek
      @redneckcomputergeek  2 года назад

      I would agree with you on 90% of stuff. But when something gets reengineered and the common sense of the original item is lost. That is a step backwards. Something we unfortunately see a lot these days.

      @@redneckcomputergeek Speaking as someone that has been on the inside, ITs not just the tech guys missing dumb stuff, They have to answer to the sales marketing and financial suits. Sometimes they are forced into doing things they don't want too. Like, this seat has no drain... use it anyway its cheap.... but... buyers wont notice till their asses get wet....

    • @redneckcomputergeek
      @redneckcomputergeek  2 года назад

      Yup been there done that to. Its why I work for myself now. Cause I got sick of having to cover up for other peoples bad choices that effect the customers lives. These seats are built in a way that causes safety switch death. I plan to cover replacement and how to prevent it in the future in a video end of next month.
