With regards to cheap transportation, few points need to be considered. 1. It is petro-dollar economy. 2. Iran is neither a pure democracy nor a pure monarchy. In a Multi-party democracy usually Party-1 comes to power and make money and then Party-2 comes to power and make money. Running a political party too is a commercial business and enterprise. 3. Iranian Revolution in itself is a type of socialism/communism with a theistic approach. 4. Iran is surviving with too many sanctions which still needs to be commendable compared to their Gulf Counterparts.
