Hi Timothy, it is a fold out sofabed that I repurposed from my travel trailer. Camping World has them for about a $ grand. I have a video which shows more detail how it fits in there. Take care.
thanks for sharing....you said it was always garaged...had it been garaged in that garage? like a standard house 83" high? im looking for a Quadvan but Diesel...wondering if it would fit. Thanks!
A little history; As you probably know Ford discontinued the E350 Van as of 2014. At that time in 2014 I originally placed an order for a 3500 Chevy diesel van and two months later was informed the GM production line was full making commercial customer diesel van deliveries and the following year 2015 was already bought out. So I searched the entire US for a new /used E350 diesel but those where discontinued in 2010 and zero used where on the market in 2014. So I searched for a V10 E350 new/used zero available anywhere in the US. So I searched for a E350 with the 5.4l V8 and found a few at Newberg Ford Portland OR, who at the time was purchasing ALL available E350 Ford vans practical for 4x4 conversion on the US market including ALL rentals/leases with contracts coming due. That is why I could not find any on the market except old worn-out plumber work vans. Newberg was having the vans converted by Quadvan, quadvan.com/ to 4x4s by simply bolting in a F450 front differential and transfer case thus keeping it under full Ford factory warranty and serviceable by ANY Ford dealer. Newberg Ford was supplying the Canadian oil fields with crew vans and shipping them to Canada. I happened to get my van before it was shipped off up north. It was an extremely clean 2014 rental with 8,000 miles that Newberg Ford had converted by Quadvan. If I where to do it today I would have to decide if I wanted a used E350 or a new Ford Transit Van; -For a 4x4 Ford Transit van contact Dale Sykes of Newberg Ford (tell them RVer Frank sent you, lol) newbergford.com/van-headquarters -For a 4x4 E350 contact John at Quadvan and check if they have any in their inventory or if they would convert a E350 that you purchase and have them convert. -I recall Sportsmobile is converting new commercial Ford P-E350 chassis (just the front end/open rear frame like a Class C motor home) and a manufacture a rear van section which looks just like a stock van but fully tricked out $$$. Or -Try to contact the folks at this RUclips channel who build CRAZY COOL 4x4 including diesels, I think they are in Tijuana Mexico, ruclips.net/channel/UCRKEgWGAb3OhUV_aOzFRhDw Beware, the Ford E350 4x4s are extreme gas hogs with limited off/on road range and you will have to replace the stock 33 gl tank with a 45 gl tank and consider relocating the spare on a back door mount and have a tank fab'd in the spare location with a fill pump/nozzle to fill the stock tank when needed as this tank can't be integrated into the stock fuel system because of the emissions control system. I hope this save you some time gives you a direction to proceed.👍
J Davis, I sold the van 2016 and let all of the paperwork for the van upgrades that I did go to the new buyer. I've checked my files and have only old registration records. I had the Alpine unit installed by a audio shop (Hemet Ca.) who picked out the largest display that would fit in the dash. I just can't remember the model but it was the latest thing back then, not sure what they have available today that would be available to fit but a audio shop could tell you. Sorry, wish I kept all of those old receipts. Hope this helps you out.
Quadvan installed the tire/wheel setup, I don't remember the wheel brand but the tire was Hankook Dynapro ATM LT265/70R17, 10 ply, 31.7" dia. Small for this size van; I just put Discover 285/70-17 M/S on my 2011 5.3L V8 Colorado 4x4. Quadvan wanted to keep to the stock tire dia so as to not effectively raise the gearing from the stock 3.73 fore/aft differential ring/pinion. I needed to keep to this gear ratio to have sufficient power with the 5.4L V8 to pull my 30' TT up steep ~5-6% grades. Overall gas mileage pulling was at 6-7 mpg (or 10 mpg alone highway) and 33 gal tank. With a range of ~200 miles I was looking for gas every 150 miles and sometime not finding an accessible fuel pump with the TT hooked up. They make a 45 gal replaceable tank but ~270 mile range is still limited. The F350 front differential ride height necessitated a 6' rear axle block under the lief spring pack, essentially considered a 6" overall lift. After I installed the fender flairs, I didn't like the stance, the van needed larger tires, lower gearing, diesel engine, and replacement 45 tank, and a extra 30 tank/with electric fuel pump nozzle located in the rear where the spare tire was located, relocate the spare to the rear door with a tire carrier, a new barn to keep it in, and lot's of $$$, lol. I became motivated to go with a Class A and my 2011 Colorado as a towed. For some reason I never regretted owning this van, I loved it; it was just time to move on.👍 👍 👍
Hi Kent, the Quadvan conversion package included the 6" lift and wheels "no wheel spacers or offset from factory" with Hankook ATs and they kept with the same factory 32" tire dia and 3.73 gear ratio. It was OK for pulling the TT. After I installed the Bushwacker fender flares I didn't like the stance (tires too small), had I kept the van, I would have gone to 35"s and re-geared lower for pulling the TT but gas mileage would have been even worse, the 33 gal tank at 7-10 mpg was limiting. Here is the Bushwacker install video; ruclips.net/video/WevRaPzTyQ8/видео.html 👍 👍 👍
Hi Kent, the Quadvan wheel package kept to the factory size and no spacers. The Bushwacker flare install and more information about tire size is in my video link below; ruclips.net/video/WevRaPzTyQ8/видео.html 👍 👍 👍
+jochambe1 The Quadvan (3 rows of rear passenger seats/windows) is rated for 6,800 lbs towing with the 5.4L/3.73 gears. The cargo van version is rated for 7,500 lbs. By removing the ~700 lbs of 3 rows of rear seats I was close to the cargo van tow rating. The class IV receiver with the Husky Centerline weight distribution/sway control hitch of course doesn't affect (increase/decrease) tow capacity only the handling while towing. Thanks for watching.
Yeah, even worst, when I saw it being driven off to it's new home in South Dakota where it would never be treated the same in that very harsh environment. Thanks for your comment.

I'm looking to upgrade my E 350 with a touchscreen headunit. What size was that one you installed?

Hey there buddy, do you remember what size wheel/tire combo you had? did you do a suspension lift?
