I was actually suprised to learn Charmander died. I really thought episode 10 would start with Squirtle saving him but no, they really offed him. That takes balls and I think it was done really well and not just for shock value. Overall this was a great 10th episode and I wonder what Wartortle's gonna do when he encounters these Pokedeities. So many possibilities.
I have a slightly different prediction: Wartortle will ask if he can revive Charmander, and if Dialga doesn't know who Charmander is, he would just revive Chimchar since that's who he is carrying. Or maybe just a completely different Charmander. I wonder how Wartortle will get the leverage over him though...

Y'know i wonder if Gavins flareon from episode 7 is how the resistance burned down caterpie's forest. Charmander did say something like "Dont come back until you can fend for yourself!"
A prediction for what might happen next time: Wartortle will reach the top and meet The Creation Trio, getting into a fight with them. Before any fatalities occur, Arceus appears and breaks up the conflict with diplomacy. Wartortle will make his demands clear, but Arceus denies them and says something like “it is your responsibility to make the changes you wish to see in the world.” Wartortle will start to leave and say something about honoring Charmander’s ideals. However, this actually pisses Arceus and the others off because they realize that Wartortle was the Squirtle that helped Charmander set Missingno loose! “Wait, YOU were one of those morons!?” After explaining what’s going on (which has probably gotten worse after all those years), Arceus and Wartortle make a deal: Dialga will rewind time so he can save Charmander. But only if they use that opportunity to stop Missingno as well.
Ok with more context, I don't think they would rewind time and also i think next ep WILL be about bulbasour and ghastly (charmander) going to mewtwos cave "some how" and being resurrected that way, I agree with everything else btw
I knew Charmander was dead as soon as the video said "Ten years later..." You know a time-skip doesn't mean good things when the last episode ended in a cliffhanger... But seeing the orange hat on Caterpie in the start of Squirtle's flashback... I knew he was dead for sure. There would be no other reason to wear an orange hat. It's been about a week, but it's important to consider this, especially going into episode 11: Squirtle was ALWAYS a rule-follower. He was picked up by Red, and did his part despite hating it until Charmander rescued him. Despite all being Pokémon, Charmander viewed himself as Squirtle's trainer, and Squirtle only acted in battle based on his orders and one situation where it's stated he has to protect his trainer. In episode 9, Squirtle could've saved him, but followed his new trainer Caterpie's orders (oh, and isn't that one a she?). The flashbacks show Squirtle being ordered to do worse and worse things, never saying no due to the trainer/pokemon mentality. "I believe in you" was repeatedly mentioned ever since the Caterpie camp was first shown, and it's something tied to trainers since the debut of Ash. Squirtle adhered to his past for years after, not evolving due to both the conditioning of the war and the memory of what happened to Charmander, who relentlessly wanted to disturb society and evolve. All of this plays into his encounter with Abomasnow, who is in his own way doing the same thing Squirtle did all these years: Mindlessly following the order of his commander. Choosing to confront the gods, as crazy as it sounds, ties the whole series into a powerful climax. Edit: Oh, and Bidoof can learn some water moves - that was likely meant to be like water gun.

Obviously, leaves have many more different shapes than feathers, but there are many leaves with the same basic shape and simple design as feathers. I just can’t believe this series is back! I was pretty upset that they killed off charmander becuase he finally tried to do something selfless and I guess got punished for it
Yeah, but that doesn't always apply. Don't get me wrong, I'm also sad he was killed mid-redemption arc, but his death was something he brought upon himself basically since chapter two. Let's not forget Caterpie got here because of what Charmander did to his brother and the rest of his species in the forest, though he too recieved a punishment in the form of becoming a worse version of Charmander, loosing everything and everyone he loved as a result, and then having to spend the rest of his life living with what he'd done. Sadly for Charmander is that while he grew enough to actually appreciate what Squirtle and Bulbasaur did for him and care for then, he still couldn't do the same for others, which is why he failed to connect with Whiskers last chapter, even though Caterpie was already showing signs of being willing to sacrifice others to achieve his goals. He also was unlucky enough that his approach to saving Squirtle (which fair, he thought he was a prisoner and treated badly, so going in flamethrower first was sort of understandable) only convinced the later that he needed to neutralize Charmander until he couldn't keep fighting, which allowed Caterpie to get his killing blow.
All in all, I just think it's interesting Caterpie and Chimchar are reflections of what Charmander could have become if he didn't have friends to pull him back and make him rethink about the worst of his behavior. I do think he might get another chance if Wartortle gets his way with the Gods, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I love how Bulbasaur never wanted to leave, but then the only two people left after the war are Squirtle and the main Caterpie, so Bulbasaur is just alone back at the Caterpie base.
So Dialga will reverse time to bring Charmander back or Charmander survived his decapitation because he is a lizard and not only his tail but also his head growth again or something like that.

I'm failing to understand why everyone seems to hate on Chimchar for being arrogant and a murderer when Charmander was the same, and still call him a saint. Just because he's a main character, doesn't automatically make him a good guy. His brash actions are what instigated the Caterpie to become hostle after all, and set Missingno on the loose
Personally I'd say Chimchar was better than Charmander. Battling strangers to grow stronger was just something that pokemon did. At least Chimchar didn't mercilessly kill anyone. Can't say the same for Charmander :P.

Never underestimate an unevolved Pokémon. I actually got really nostalgic when I saw Squirtle refused to evolve because I actually did an unevolved starter only run before with Squirtle. When I finally beat the game and got that Wartortle I was sure it would have swept the entire game if I traded it.
personally, I hate the whole "dead character gets resurrected" trope but I wouldn't be too surprised if that's what this series ends on. The ending I'd like best would be for squirtle to get clapped by the gods and learn that the worlds just sucks and there's nothing that can be done about that (although I doubt that that'll happen)
I respect the fact he went through with Charmander's death. Like usually we see some eye rolling, typical way for the hero to live... But then again "Hero" doesn't really apply to Charmander XD

ChimChar had no redeeming qualities whatsoever so far . Also his voice is so annoying . Nobody called Charmander a saint .
Chimchar feels like an annoying kid but charmander is mature cool and baddass and his journey makes it more cool too

Never underestimate an unevolved Pokémon. I actually got really nostalgic when I saw Squirtle refused to evolve because I actually did an unevolved starter only run before with Squirtle. When I finally beat the game and got that Wartortle I was sure it would have swept the entire game if I traded it.

personally, I hate the whole "dead character gets resurrected" trope but I wouldn't be too surprised if that's what this series ends on. The ending I'd like best would be for squirtle to get clapped by the gods and learn that the worlds just sucks and there's nothing that can be done about that (although I doubt that that'll happen)
