Damon like Klaus experienced a father’s continuous disappointment and abuse even though Stefan experienced abuse to it wasn’t as much as Damon, he always took the blame and violence for Stefan, if he ever did something ‘wrong’. With Katherine they both fell in love like the original brothers but she chose Stefan, everyone chose Stefan (like Elijah) until (even tho much later on) came Elena who yes looks like Katherine and dated Stefan but ultimately at the end chose Damon even if he’s considered the worse brother ( like Klaus). Stefan is the favourite he’s well liked no matter what he does ( even if Damon is still loved just by Stefan like Klaus is with his fam he still isn’t liked) kinda like Elijah, but can be hypocritical also like Elijah. He’s the more understanding and empathetic one with high moral codes, he kills and hurts when it mostly has purpose especially when protecting the people he loves, he’s considered the more put together one the more reasonable, respectful and responsible one just like Elijah but he’s also the more deadly one. Stefan without his humanity or in ripper mode is much more ruthless and unforgiving ( like Klaus) he’d slaughter anyone near him even children I mean he slaughtered an entire village. It’s like he’s the perfect mix of the 2 but more like Elijah. Between the two brothers Stefan and Damon definitely have the better dynamic and relationship yes they’ve had their arguments but they’re there for each other no matter what even if it’s from a distance like Damon was with Stefan. With Klaus and Elijah it was also like that but with more problems less there for each other, Elijah was adamant on redeeming Klaus but he also didn’t believe Klaus when he had his redeemable moments ( and he was the cause for some of his breakdowns) like yes has made many mistakes like putting them in a box but I do believe he wanted to protect them cause they were daggered when Mikael was close ( except for that time with kol in new Orléans 1800s ) but it was also useless cause he wasn’t even after them just Klaus and they were in more danger in a box then out, like there father could’ve easily found them and kill them but didn’t just like when they were awake and together he went for Klaus not the others sure he’d hurt them but only to subdue them long enough to try kill Klaus. And there’s the Rebekah and her lovers but seriously all of her lovers ( except marcel) were using her to get to the family cause she was the ‘weakest link’ and with the marcel thing I get why Klaus was disapproving of that he literally adopted him as a son marcel grew up with Elijah as an uncle which means Rebekah the aunt and even if she stopped ageing and stuff it’s still weird. Jeez this was long sorry 😅😅 but yeah I think I drifted off with the whole idea towards the end but even so it is true. And if you don’t agree that’s fine it’s just how I see

I hate that they still push the idea that Stefan forced his older brother to become a vampire. He didn’t poor the blood down his throat. In the end, they were both victims and neither were forced except for the blood lust they felt after they were killed by their father.
But, I remember Stefan having a girl bleeding and he was holding Damon’s neck tryna make him drink and then, as soon as Damon did, Stefan let go of him.
