While Russia and China voted in favour of Iran. It is time India stationed one minister (MoS may be) in Tehran and push all the pending projects. The north-south connectivity to Russia and eastern Europe is very important for India. All payments may be in Rupee.

When China brokered a historical decade old Saudi-Iran conflict. Suddenly everyone wants to be an advocate of peace too. Anyone wants to broker the peace deal for Sudan and Ukraine wars?
Let us be blunt and truthful, India's problem in not able to "win" Iran's friendship and trust is not due to any third party country.
It is due solely to India trying to support both sides of the conflict, in order to make your own life easier. India's hidden desire is to gain Iran's and United Snake's friendship equally, and not favour one side or the other.
Iran is not a fool or blind, and can see very quickly when someone is "running with the hares and hunt with the hounds".
TBH, Iran had shown a lot of patience, by giving India time to make up her mind, and respond in a trustworthy manner for several years, by giving India the contract to build the Port, but India kept wavering and was trying to win the United Snake's favour by joining in the sanction on Iran, so now India is only "reaping what she sowed".
So you want India should get sanctioned from USA and fully support Iran. Put yourself in India position, our trade with US is more than 100 billions dollars, also there are millions of Indians in US. But there is less human connection in Iran to India. Also Iran is autocratic country and not women friendly. We have opposite culture , yes we had ancient ties but they were Parsis original inhabitants of Iran and now Paris are proud indian living here since 1000s of years with fear of religious persecution like islamist did them in Iran. India was not (and still is not) in a position to ignore America sanctions so acted in a way it could. Iran was not a saint either. Knowing that India will not be able to go against US sanctions, it still wanted India to be on its side. The talk of Rupee-Rial has been happening so long but never really happened because Iran doesn't want to accept Rupee payments. The sanctions are on Iran not on India, so it should have been a little bit more flexible...

The fundamental difference between China and India is that, when China says something, something will happen. There is no IF, ELSE, BUT. When China opens it mouth, you know for sure it will be done. But when India talks, you know it is just talks. In fact, if Indians are doing something, you know that something will not complete. It might be India's issue. Or it might be US issue. No matter, sooner or later, that something will fall apart, or never happen.
So once people realize that, and repeat the same experience with India, they won't deal with India. They will do gesture to be friendly with India. But reality is, they will expect whatever comes out of the friendly gesture is NOTHING. So smile, and don't expect anything.

India is envious and always petty. Indians think they are in the same league as China but facts beg to differ. So when China does big things that India can't, simply because it's bigger and more advance, Indians get into a hissy fit.
China is encroaching on India's territory, Tibetan and Uyghur genocide, the Wuhan Virus outbreak, China causing trouble in the Indo Pacific etc.
One thing is not clear... The Triangle - India,USA & China.. Who is with whom is totally confusing.. If India builds good relationship with China.. Both countries benefit and reduce the border security expenses drastically.. If we work with us, except brain drain, get few border satellite photos from us at free cost..
