Lady Killer is such a beautifully drawn book. The art is fantastic. Maybe I'm getting old, but it seems to me a lot of modern artists don't care about fluidity and movement or detail.
I wish Marvel would put out a Jessica Jones Omnibus vol 2. Bendis and Gaydos returned for 18 more issues plus the Kelly Thompson tpbs plus gail simone's The Variants 1-5! That's probably the equivalent of the first Omni right?
I just got into Ms Tree last year myself. It's so great! I started with vol 3 A Cold Dish because it had the earliest Ms Tree stories. Hard Case published it out of order because they felt the later stories in vol 1 One Mean Mother were better drawn as Beatty had improved quite a bit making the stories strongest, but it seems odd to me they did it that way because much of her origin is in A Cold Dish. I've since gotten volume one and actually just ordered vol 2 when your video reminded me of how I wanted to read more Ms Tree. I plan on getting vol 4 and 5. Ms Tree has a pretty interesting publishing history too being published first by Eclipse Comics then Aadvark-Vanaheim/Renegade Press and even DC comics with Ms Tree Quarterly. So glad Hard Case is collecting these but I hope they do bigger versions at some point.
@@ShaneMatlock I thought things seemed out of order! That explains it then. I will do a video on this once I get the physical copy of One mean mother! And I’ll give you credit for the idea!
True story: This morning I was reading a fun trade called Batman Harley Quinn, which mainly collects Paul Dini stories but this morning I happened to read a story called " "The Most Important Day of The Year" which I enjoyed quite a bit. I check the contents and it's written by someone called James Patrick and I think to myself "Huh, I haven't heard of this before I wonder what else he wrote?". So I go and make my lunch and look at my RUclips watch later and see this video at the top and being a huge fan of crime comics of course I watch that, and of course the first book you talk about is by....James PatrickI guess I'll have to check that out, it would a "crime" not to
PS I think Max Allan Collins also wrote the Nathaniel West PI series for DC back in the 80s which I remember loving as a teenager (yes, also an old guy the only crime I'm guilty of). I wish DC would bring them back to print.
@@OmnidogsVault Apologies, I should have researched before I wrote that comment😅The series I was remembering was Nathaniel Dusk and was written by Don McGregor with art by the fabulous Gene Colon
@OmnidogsVault He did write Batman for a bit in the 80s as well. There's a trade called Batman Second Chances which is super oop and going for like 189 bucks that has some of Collins Batman but I believe the DC Finest collection of Batman Year and Year Two is going to have some Collins issues as well.
I have an old collection tour from 2017 in my library but I was waiting to update it until I got more organized here at my new home. I'm pretty close to being there! Thank you!
Highly recommend Blacksad Canales and Guarnido. There are currently only 6 stories available with a 7th on the way, but they are up there with some of the best.
I have Alias, Jessica Jones and Lady Killer. I think you should really check ou... ooouuuu... okay, I'll wait. 🤫
hahahaha! thank youuuuuuuu

it is a gorgeous book and so well written! You're not getting old! Your opinion is your opinion! I'M getting old lol

Heck yes!! I finally ordered the rest of the Bendis stuff in trade. All you really need for an omnibus is 25+ and we're there easily!
I agree, it was #1 vote on the Marvel omni wanted list I sent in.
You can also add The Pulse series to make it thicker.
@@louispanagakos3076 good point!!
Always a good day in the dog house when Jess puts out a video!
Great video as usual!
Thank you buddy!!
Welp now I have 2 more titles I wanna track down…..hope the world starts taking Monopoly money soon!
Keanu carried me around the set of Point Break. So I know crime and these crime comics are the bee's knees. It would be a crime NOT to read them.
HAHAHAHA this is the comment of the WEEK! Thank you, Gary Busey!!
