Good luck with the build. I tried using quantum once but it wasn’t enough for 10 lbs of boost. Maybe you’ll have better luck than me, but I had to go with twin 340’s from on3.
Can't wait to see Goldie Hawn get boosted. The stance it has is perfect. Nice job. I do recall the black truck too. Actually got it confused with new black truck that came with the track bars...what happened to the lifted dodge?....
Hey, there's on guy on RUclips, channel is called like Honey Badger or something and he has similar trucks. His are extended cabs, dropped, ls swapped. He's got a lot of subs. So, you never know lol
Like ur videos I don't have a lift but my cousin does & have to con him into using it sometimes but my suburban has to get the tank dropped but good looking out on that there pump.
Just curious on your take on this, i plan on getting an 03+ single cab silverado ill try to find a 5.3 but ill most likely get a 4.8 since they're easier to find. I want to do a race truck type build and i dont know if i just want to slap a supercharger on top with exhaust and tune or do headers and cam plus other bolt ons. What do you recommend. And also how much hp does your truck make, have you ever dynod it?
With a 4.8 the go to is turbo. The bore is the same as a 5.3 but the shorter stroke makes them spool a lot quicker. If you kept it N/A just doing bolts ons, I think most people would tell you "just get a 6.0 and swap it hurrdurr" but I think a 4.8 with a good cam, heads, and exhaust could be pretty fun. And, nah I haven't dyno'd mine yet. I just estimate power based on what people with similar mods make. so it should be around 300hp at the wheels
Im barely looking into modding my 2001 4.8 chevy stepside i currently just got a k&n cold air intake with the throttle body spacer tuned and shorty bbk headers and only use premium gas will this fuel pump work for my chevy? Also what other mods do you reccomend for performance. Great videos by the way 👌
I replaced my OEM pump at 135k miles with a cheapo ebay aftermarket. I'm not confident in its ability, even though I'm running stock engine. I'm thinking of upgrading to a higher flowing pump,l as a precaution, in case the pump I have now isn't keeping up. Thoughts?
Do you have pics of how the screen goes on my pump is getting weak and I’m going to boost it some time in the near future and this would be a great update on my truck
Yo! I have a 2006 1500 Silverado vortecMax. I want to install a supercharger on it and just run low boost. I’m at 364hp stock and just want maybe another 50-100. What “boost prep” do you recommend me doing. Fuel pump? You mentioned “Map sensor, wide band, Intake air temp sensor, wiring harness , and Tr6 sparks? Do I need all of that? Again I’m not looking to race it with 500+ hp Just want it running heathy on supercharge?
My Fuel tank evap cannister vent is plugged. Or that’s what I think it is? It’s showing a evap code and takes 40 days to put gas in it. I don’t have a lift so looks like I’m going to use jack stands and drop the tank? Have you done this and if so can I get to it without dropping the tank of removing the bed?
You could just take out the driver side bed bolts, loosen the passenger side ones and tilt the bed. I forgot that that's another way people do this without actually removing it. But, I've only ever dropped tanks on the hoist, so idk about how hard it is to get to things. But I know people have done it
You could try cutting a hole in the bed floor. I’ve done this on my fathers truck. It’s not hard to measure the hole and then cut it with a jig saw. After we replaced the fuel pump we threaded some aluminum bars and then bolted them across the hole to reinforce the bed and then bolted down the the square of bed floor and then siliconed around the patch to make it water tight. We then put the bed liner back in.
If it takes a while to put gas in, try going under the truck and to the passenger side of the tank will be your evap canister, a black square box looking thing and remove the bolt and the lines that go to it, push loc style, then get a blow gun and give it a couple shots of air on the inlet side then bang it on the ground, lightly of course, keep blowing the air and eventually you won’t see any more dusty shit coming out. Hope this helps ya, it worked great on my 04 1500.
Nice video and great info!!! Fixing to do a fuel pump upgrade on my 03. The question I have is did you place the lift on your traction bars or somewhere else I was I imagining something?
