Ray, the lady Laura Goodwin, he is dancing with, said Elvis was such a kind generous soul. Always doing for others. Said he made her feel right at home on the set. She said, we think his singing is great. We should hear him with out the instruments she said it was so beautiful. Said she could just sit there & listen to him sing all day. She passed away last year at 79.
What I love about this scene is that the poor boy/"hillbilly cat" (as he was called when he started out) is showing the grace & elegance of an actual Flamenco dancer..from the hand movements to the tilt of his head to the posture (& yes, the hips). Especially the posture.
Beautifully done.

Yes, Little Elvis made an appearance in this film. He laughed about it later and thought the film editors would handle it, but I guess no one noticed. He said the pants he had on were "rubbing him wrong" during the dance sequence. Caused some of us ladies to see this film more than once.🤩
That is because Elvis went commando a lot that’s why it was rubbing against him when he was dancing. He even stayed in character lol

Look, I'm not a fan of some artists. I admit that. No one is a fan of every artist out there.
But I have been saying this for years: Talent is talent. You can not like an artist's music or cadence or voice or what have you, but if they are legitimately talented then give credit where credit is due.
Now let me tell you something about Elvis: Even way back in the 1950's, there were people buying up his records specifically to light them on fire and Elvis got wind of this. He knew that there were people who weren't gonna like him or his music, no matter what. He didn't care. He said it himself in an interview, "There are always gonna people that won't like you no matter what, and there isn't a thing you can do about it, you just gotta accept it. But as long as there are people who do like you and like what you're doing, then there is no reason to stop what you're doing. If everybody liked the same music, bought the same cars, married the same type of people, then this world would be a boring place to live in."
So Elvis took some of the money he earned from people buying his records and pledged to donate no less than a hundred thousand dollars to charity. He also became a spokesperson for March of Dimes and to this day if you go to Graceland you have the option of donating to one of the 50 different charities that Elvis wrote checks to every year without fail (it's actually over 50; Elvis donated to 50 different charities just in the Memphis area alone; Elvis also donated to charities across the country). He also took time out to visit sick children in hospitals and every Christmas he would visit prisoners behind bars and talk to each and every one of them and ask them how they were doing and how their families were doing and prison guards who were there said that Elvis would always ask the prisoners if they were in need and if their families were in need.
And I believe that's really who Elvis was, deep down.
People who hate are wasting their own untapped potential on being negative. They could be using that same amount of time honing their own skills, sharpening their own talents. Instead, they're too caught up in hating on others because they can't stand it when someone else is succeeding.
It's jealousy, pure and simple.
Just because someone else is talented and is using their talents to be a success does not mean you are any less talented. But to be talented, you can't just be born with it, you also have to work at it. Talent is like a muscle, it needs to be exercised. You don't exercise it, it will atrophy.

Oh! I almost forgot: Yes, Elvis got a bulge there. Actually, after Elvis was done filming this scene he told one of his guy friends, "Damn pants kept running me the wrong way."
Elvis never watched his movies. So while he never saw that they never edited his bulge out of that scene, he did get wind of it.
Those who were with Elvis at the time did say Elvis never saw the film but he never thought they'd leave his "bulge" in the film either.
Fun fact: The movie this scene was in, "Girls! Girls! Girls!" was nominated for a Golden Globe at the 1963 award ceremonies.

Little E made an appearance he was told it would be edited out but they left it in. The graceful movements in this scene are just on another level. I don’t care what anyone says, he was not a bad actor he was fabulous! He was just given crap roles. He did his absolute best! Imagine what he was really capable of!!!!! This man is a treasure.

RElvis, I was just commenting to you on my story time about E’s very visible excitement when you spotted it! The moron editors are either blind or just forgot to edit it out so it’s actually in the final cut of the movie! Elvis was mortified! As for as your late-night scare in the dark last night, something similar happened to me many, many years ago. I am a huge Jeff Gordon fan and have been since his first NASCAR cup race, so my mom bought me a lifesize Jeff Gordon cutout for my birthday to keep in my JG shrine in a spare bedroom. So every NASCAR race, I would go get him & bring him to the living room and let him watch the race with me and the gang and then return him back to his shrine until the next race! Well, one week the race was on a Saturday night and The race ran really late because of bad weather or a bug wreck or something, so as soon as it was over everybody left and I went to bed. The next morning I walked in my living room and it scared me so bad, that I peed a little too, actually maybe more than a little, but I never forgot to bring him back to his shrine again!

Any of the songs especially when they are dancing is outstanding ding. C'mon Everybody, The Climb by The Forte Four, Elvis & Ann Margaret singing The Lady Loves Me, what'd I Say and a beautiful short love ballad Today, Tomorrow & Forever. A lot of Elvis movie songs are quite underrated, I believe. With very few exceptions, most are swept under the carpet of bad career phase and since he hated many of them ( rightly so). But there are quite a few which are charming (not necessarily Epic like his other music).

Grease was based on the life of Elvis. It started as a Broadway musical and the movie was taken from that musical. Ray, if he had done "A star is born," an Oscar nomination all day long and he may have won it. I did a little drama in college and my college professor said Hollywood would have given him some serious high level acting classes, not that he needed them but for this serious role, my professor said they would have prepared Elvis like no other actor in Hollywood history. The creep, you know who, killed the deal. Parker had no business being in Elvis' life. Parker screwed with his music, his acting career and that SOB worked that man to death. "F" parker, little p, that's right parker was a carnival barker who had a dancing chicken act in the carnivals and this is the man who was running Elvis Presley's life. I can't stand that fat "F." That's all I have to say and I'm sticking to every word I've said.
