Thank you very much for preserving this one. One of the most iconic in my opinion, from one of the most iconic MMDer of this past decade. I'm glad my subs archive was useful to you. Don't hesitate to pick through again when you need it. For the curious, I posted about it on the Touhou subr*ddit.

Man wtf, this is the one of the most strongest touhou mmd that i watched.
I watched it all and feel myself like, i was just standing, and suddenly someone punch me, and i fall to the ground, and can't stand up, very long time.

Damn, this was pretty emotional. Though I'm still confused on what the hell was going on as it seems to take place in a post-apocalyptic Gensokyo where Satori and Koishi are the only survivors, as well as another reason not to trust "Morpho (Knight) Butterflies" and I wonder if the two of them died at the end from the gunshot as it looked like they both got shot with the bullet. Other than that it's a little depressing how Koishi was using her imagination to find some normalcy in the wasteland she is living in and you can see the grief Satori's having when Koishi mentions Okuu and Orin. Some sad, but really well-written stuff here.

It's really left open to interpretation. There were some mind-blowing theories under the original TouhouSubs comments.

I slowed it down a bit and it looks like only Satori got shot.

@@finediner17 Based on the dialogue after and the movie of the two with their eyes closed, I think Satori was blinded by the gunshot, not killed. It's always the eyes with these sisters I tell ya'. I think the idea is that Koishi is blind to reality but can clearly see fantasy while Satori *could* see reality but was blind to fantasy, which is a direct inversion of their human eyes and satori eyes if we assume that Satori is blinded... if that makes sense. Chekhovs gun is so ironically cruel to these poor girls 😔 but the dichotomy is really interesting when taking into account their mind reading abilities, unfortunately it kinda traps both of them in Koishi's fantasy...

I recall seeing this on TouhouSubs channel, where I wrote an entire essay analyzing it. 😂
Guess that is gone, if the video's gone private now, but I recall how the creator allowed anyone to make their own interpretation of the story. Quite a wild ride.

Let me explain and summarize the whole story(in my theory):
    This is psycho movie
The movie is set in the apocalypse where the Gensokyo and The world the end.
And Koishi and satori sister is the last survivors in the apocalypse.
Koishi imagined an ordinary world she lived in.
But Satori have normally mind and her little sister got psycho after the apocalypse.
But one day koishi had realized the world in her mind is fake.
Because of her abnormal mind she exerts a heavy influence.
She decided to suicide from the pistol she grab in container.
Her sister satori try to grab her gun before koishi suicide.
But somehow koishi had aim to satori head and shot.
After satori died koishi had died too because both of them will die if one of them sister dead.
And the ending is memeory of sisters before they come to afterlife.
    Warning!
1: This is just a fictional story in touhou and has nothing to do with the main story.
2:my theory can be wrong or missed something so guys can comment your theory to me.

Well, my theory goes to the comments too.
People analyze this as an apocalyptic future and the Komeiji sisters are the only survivors, but there are not many proofs that **both** of them have survived. There might be only one survivor, and the other one is just an imagination.
It might be that Koishi survived, and has her sister as an imaginary friend, who helps her to survive through the "real" world. When Satori tells Koishi to stop daydreaming, or to keep water supplies, that's her subconsciousness guarding Koishi from the dangers. This is possible, because Koishi really can make her imaginary world feel as real as she want.
But it might be the other way around, where Satori is the only survivor. That can be supported by the fact that she could "communicate" with her sister telepathically, even though we know they can't do that anymore. And the imaginary mansion being reconstructed from memories shows that Satori (apparently) also can force an imaginary world to be real. And another subtle thing: 38 minutes in, when we see their recording, Satori says "Orin, hold on a minute!" which might be addressed to Orin when she was alive, or it might be addressed to the imaginary version of Orin. After all Satori said this herself: "I can't imagine living alone". So she might have had to imagine living together.
I want to be wrong about this theory, but with how little proves we have that they **both** have survived, this thought didn't leave me alone for the past hour. It's just like that pistol. Just its existence would route your train of thought towards "yet another viable course of actions".

    总体来说很好,分镜气氛渲染都是精心设计过的,难得一见的东方较长的剧情动画。剧情交代比较糢,留白有些多,情节大部分都是靠自己脑补,觉得需要稍做补充,那样就更完美了。

Spoilers if you didnt watch the whole thing already
I think the reason the ending hits as hard as it does for me is that in the frame before they both collapse, it looks like Satori redirected the gun at herself. This, without futher implications, means that Koishi "killed" Satori again. Koishi dropping is a bit more complicated. She could have either survived and past out due to shock, or also die because of the shock of either killing her sister or believing she shot herself. And back to Satori, what if redirecting the gun to herself was a result of her thinking she's the main problem in Koishi's life? This ending leaves much to interpretation and I love (and hate) it for that.

I don't understand, why Koishi wants to kill herself...from guilt of repeatedly killing her sister?
What even is that mansion which is invisible then suddenly go back to the dining room
    i like it XD
