Tough championship golf, the way it should be. Listened to some coverage on radio which was fun, some live coverage on the very poor Open app and then saw Duran Duran in Athens. Great day!
Sure cream will come to the top at the end of the week.
Great mini pod as usual.
Lav is 100% correct here in regards to why Bryson struggles on links style tracks with variables. Bryson plays a handful of stock shots. In fairness he plays those stock shots masterfully. Bryson is a scientist, not an artist.
@jaydee5447 Bryson shot the lowest score ever in a major, until Xander hit the birdie on 18. Then won a major at Pinehurst while only hitting 5 fairways. The "stock" shots are just the long ones. 80% of pro golfers are "stock" shots for anything over 200. Different courses suit different golfers based on this. You don't accomplish what Bryson has without "artistry" from 200 in. He is on a roll and all but 2 golfers would definitely rather of had his year than theirs.
@@casey583 if you read your post carefully you’ll actually discover that you are proving Lav’s point more than the point you think you’re making. Lav was talking about Brysons game in relation to links style golf with variables. It’s not Brysons equipment that’s the problem. Brysons game/style is particularly suited well for links golf, hence his record at The Open venues. Bryson approaches golf scientifically. I forgot who originally said that, oh ya, it was Bryson. Lav is absolutely correct on this.
An advantage that Brooks has is that he played his early professional golf in Europe before making in onto the US PGA Tour. So he is somewhat familiar with the non-groomed courses of Europe ...
Their bias against Bryson is clear for everyone to see 😅
Haha, everyone will implode in these conditions on this course within the next 4 days and the really unlucky ones will do it in the first 2 days.
Loved the look on Rex’s face when Lav mentioned all of us watching Tiger implode even more on Friday (hehe). We do not want to watch Tiger on Friday, please use your influence to change the TV coverage to our leaders, perhaps some of our Canadian boys, and more Shane Lowry ❤.
Course looks brutal man
Bryson needs a driving iron
His "5" iron is 19 degrees and chunky, it is a driving iron
@freddym6643 Actually it's 17 degrees
Update: Since Rex and Lav filmed this. Daniel Brown leads at -6. The afternoon got the better of the conditions. Late/early seems the best wave.
Not just these two, Sam Burns, Akshay Bhatia, Theegala, Wyndham Clarke, Fowler, Woods, Tom Kim, Max Homa, Zalatoris all struggling to make the cut
If Links golf is high winds, then you can have it. Come play in the States and have some actual fun playing the golf.
the 'bunk mate' thing is pretty weird not gonna lie
It IS much more interesting golf, but extremely difficult. This is where the game was invented I guess 😅
I love how the guy says “blames” equipment like he knows more than Bryson, the same guy who’s literally DESIGNED his own shit. This isn’t like another pro blaming his shitty PXG set. Just like Bryson knew what would happen swapping out the head at the US open. It’s science to him and science is based on fact. If you think he’s lying. You just genuinely don’t know how to believe facts with statistical data. Get your head out of your ass bud.
So, the new story with interesting ramifications is Lowry. If he can keep this going and win, he would go to Portrush next week as the double defending champion - winner the previous year and the previous tournament at Portrush.
Hey Lav how many events has Scottie won overseas? Yep that right the same amout as I have. If he can get it done this week I'll be the first to give him props...
You can just imagine Bryson smashing the ball and ballooning it up into the wind. It's interesting to think about why he can't adapt. Perhaps he's not the brilliant genius he thinks he is...
He does have 2 US Opens 😂
The course played like it didn't want anyone there today.
Yea, the R&A is smiling, as lot's of big hitters got stymied bad today.
Why talk about the wind or the weather...? Geesch, oh my there is a breeze, oh my its 50deg...let's play crochet.
6 under is the lead
I'm trying to figure out how 190 mph ball speed helps you make 4' putts...
Bryson has had an amazing year. He is in a really good place personally, even after today. Keep up the hate.
What hate?
@@jaydee5447 Casey is one of those really really stupid people that get their really really stupid opinions out there on the internet. I wouldn't bother.
Bryson said his equipment wasn't working in this environment. Guy on the video laughed and said that's not why he had a tough round. That would elude to Bryson either being wrong or lying. Clown on the right thinks he knows more about Bryson's golf game than Bryson does.
Calling the Open the flukiest tournament of the year is just a joke. No, it's the tournament that tests your ego and resolve as a golfer more than any other. When the conditions are tough you hang in there and wait your chance.
I had Äberg winning it
let's all overreact to one round
LIV golfers will suck, they took the money so golf could be a past time, and not a profession. So, real tournament golf is anathema to their reality. The chambeeno is a one dimensional player and cannot compete with any consistency because everything he does is inconsistent; consequently, on any given week he doesn't know who will show up. Koepka cannot play 4 rounds; nobody on liv can play 4 rounds. Vacation ensues after 3 rounds.
Get lost Mr Talking Points. So full of sh*t
