i got this thing in the mail today. in love with it. this vid helped me learn more about it. thanks. still some things i dont get but it works so well out the box
Trying to make a decision on my first controller, no reasonable competition with this one. I can only think of one roblem and there are dozens of great reasons to buy this one!
Hello! I got the Impact LX 25+ too! One question: to enter the menu, press "Shift" + "Patch>". And that's ok. But to exit the menu and save the changes made, which keys should I use? Thanks in advance!
Help needed. Brother i use the same midi. But lately when i press the play button it takes me to the starting of the track and when i press the record button it starts playing without recording. The loop button does nothing. Any idea what is up with that. Regards
I would try re-installing the provided DAW integration file that came with your Keyboard (or from the Nektar website). This will then make sure that the transport controls are assigned to the proper targets in your particular DAW.
How do you use this just as a MIDI keyboard with a MIDI synth ? I want to plug it into my Korg Radias, once I've found a B to B USB cable type, which seem to be rare !
Hi, how do you feel about this device over a year later. Build quality and all that. Planning to get one for myself. Asking since I'm on a tight budget and there's no way to demo this. Thanks.
+Riley Davidson There is a significant price difference between these two keyboards. But, all I can say is that if I had $300 to spend for the MPK25, I'd personally buy that one. I haven't used it in person, but for the specs/features, the look of the build quality, and the fact that it has a note repeat... I only wish that it had a fader(s). But you may not need all the extra bells and whistles it has. Personal call on that. Good luck.
+Riley Davidson Ah. Now, I have used that one, and I would definitely chose the Nektar over the mini. UNLESS your biggest concern is having something super-portable. I just really did not like the tiny keys on it. But it's still a cool, portable controller. I do like the illuminated drum pads, but it has no transport controls or pitch and mod wheels. Just my personal feelings.
I have this same model, works perfectly until I load an instance of spectrasonics omnisphere 1, does not play notes. After I downloaded the suggested driver the device is now visible but still no response with omnisphere plug-in. Any advice?
The keyboard works with all other VSTs accept Omnisphere V1? Have you tried playing Omnisphere with another keyboard controller or with Studio One's virtual QWERTY keyboard? What happens if you manually create a MIDI event, draw in some notes and use these to trigger Omnisphere...does this produce audio? Just a few suggestions. I also have a vid on troubleshooting MIDI in Studio One, perhaps there's a tip in there that can help. It's here: ruclips.net/video/ifXq6-sebqI/видео.html
Thanks for your reply. Yes I tried all of those you mentioned. I get audio when using my Oxygen M-Audio controller, also get audio when drawing in items. However the only time there is no response is when I try to trigger it with the keys. It works with all other logic pro VST's and all other 3rd party plug-ins. So I am just baffled. OMNI tech support was no help just suggested downloading the driver as I did. I tried messing with the settings outs and ins but nothing. Thanks again for the response
You should definitely be able to use the Nektar with your setup. The Nektar website states that it is compatible with Sonar and all versions of windows beginning with XP, and above.
I'm worried between mpk mini and impact lx 25. What would be better if I'm using in home? (I think I will rarely bring the controller out side) I mainly work on logic pro x.
If you will mostly be using the keyboard in one location and not traveling with it, no question I'd get the Nektar. Just for the full-size keys, alone. The MPK mini keyboard is VERY small! The biggest thing you'd be missing from the MPK mini that the Nektar Impact doesn't have are the built-in note repeat and arpeggiator.
They do have a lot of the same features: one fader, 8 knobs, LCD screen, pitch/mod wheels, 25 keys, etc. But the M-audio is missing drum pads, and I can't go without those for creating my drum tracks. This does, however, make the M-Audio more portable though, if that's a concern of yours. The Nektar also comes pre-mapped for most major DAWs, I'm not sure that the M-Audio is...
I am a bit disappointed about this keyboard. I need to press the drumpads really hard to make them work and i cant use all the controle features with ableton live. The only + for me is that the keys are ‘kinda’ good.
There are four different velocity settings for the drum pads; see the manual. As far as Ableton is concerned, I do mention at the end of the video that there is only a script available for it, unlike the other fully supported DAWs. This is also listed on the Nektar website. I'd check this out: www.nektartech.com/s.nl/ctype.KB/it.I/id.2429/KB.746/.f

Excellent. Glad you found the video helpful and are happy with the keyboard. Thanks for the feedback!
Well done review with a lot of useful information, unlike many other reviews one can find around. Good job!
Well done sir! Best unboxing and review of a product that "I've" seen so far. Thanks for posting this information.
Thanks for the comment, 3k. However, folks like MKBHD put my vids to shame! Glad you found the information helpful, though.

Appreciate it and thanks for checking out the vid, RIVER.

Good buy! Works with Garageband and Mainstage 3.
Hello. It was very useful. I wonder what the switch at the top left does? The one in the upper left corner.
This is good. Good job, we need more like this.
Appreciate it!
Thanks for the video. Could you please do a video on setting the Impact LX to be used with the Studio one DAW?
+notsogood Will put that up tomorrow!

hey I'm trying to decide on this model and the akai mpk 25 v2. which one would you recommend ?

Hey thanks for the reply ! Sorry I was talking about the akai mk2 mini!
+Quanta Audio This and the akai mk2 mini are really the only ones in my current price range. thanks in advanced

very imformative video on this midi controller!
+Adrian Stewart Thanks, Adrian. Glad you found it useful.
Does this keys has aftertouch ???? Sir . Please reply....
Sorry for the delayed response. If it still matters to you, no, they do not have aftertouch.
i have sonar home studio xl version 7 and windows 7 can i use this to make music?

is it comparable to mstudio oxygen 25

Please tell me how to link it with Ableton Live?
I don't use Ableton, don't know the answer to that.
There is no way to link it isnt it?
