Man I’m super impressed with this little machine! I have a mobile automotive paint reconditioning business. I go to car dealerships and repair minor paint scratches, paint chips, bumper scuffs, etc…, and I think this machine could be a great addition to my repertoire. I hate to have to listen to a gasoline generator run all day, or having to run the engine of my van (6.0L v8) with a power inverter just to power a couple hand tools, a laptop, and some battery chargers. Thanks for getting the word out there about these portable power stations. Thank you for giving a real world review as well. I would never have thought these units were as capable as this machine. Finally, thank you Tyler for another great video. You are the man! 💪🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
Hey man you don’t have a business email but if I sent you some 3d printed knives could you do a video sharpening and testing them. I don’t own a business just think it would be cool
I'd be interested to know how much leakage there is. Like, if you just charged it up and left it in a closet for six months, would it still be at least close to fully charged? If not, it doesn't sound like much use in a blackout.
I have the delta max which is 2400 watts and 5000 surge or with ac boost to run 3400 watts. I use it for work to power my work tools and haven't had problems. Power will last for a year but it does have pass through charging so you can plug it in connect your things and it will use your house power if there is a shut down it will battery will kick in.
Well, he did say at the end of the video around approx @ 17:00 that it does have a maintainer that will keep a charge for up to a year. Whether or not someone wants to purchase one and leave it in their closet for a year to test their claim is up to whomever decides that undertaking. I'd imagine unless the unit was defective, it should live up to that claim considering I imagine they wouldn't make it unless it can back it up -- much like the rest of the claims made throughout the video that held up under Tyler's scrutiny.
I have one. Last year when I was diagnosed with sleep apnoea, I bought one with my area being prone to power cuts and needing to use my CPAP. Very handy, and very reassuring.
In the fridge scenario, it's basically like using a ups for your computer. Also, I see a great use case if you have the unit plugged into an extension cord remotely, and just plug all your tools and stuff into it as a pass through. Way less cables to clean up at the end of the day

My husband & I purchased one a couple months ago & have already used it! We purchased 2 of the 400 sized solar panels & hung them on our fence so it's constantly charging at max capacity. I can lift it & keep in it in the house for when storms happen (or the power just goes out)! It's already made our lives much more comfortable & we don't have to worry about scavenging for or storing gas! 1 night the power went out & we used it to keep our AC going on a VERY HOT NIGHT! The EcoFlow Max is SILENT!

It works out pretty well when don’t have way to get gas regular cause no ride and got some solar panels so it basically becomes free energy after the price of the device and solar but doesn’t do to good for large watts but that’s probably going depend on how much money you got and what you spent on your solar generator. Looked in the website at their prices honestly you'd be better off getting a gas generator other than the noise far more useful and dependable for less money
Our buy a deep cycle battery, an inverter, a small generator, battery charger, and a solar panel from harbor freight. Think you could get all that for like $500

If you are considering buying Ecoflow products, i have to give you my experience with them: I bought a Ecoflow River Max 600, thinking it was UPS. I tested it out in the following conditions: 1: I charged it up 100%. 2: I updated the firmware. 3: I plugged it in into the wall and the pelletstove into the Ecoflow. 4: The pelletstove had done the startup and was running in normal mode. 5: I unplug the wall cable to simulate a poweroutage, and the wattage dropped massively, a alarm sounded, the pelletstove complained about low voltage, and the auger went on continuesly feeding pellets. 6: I tried it again and same failure. 7: I contacted Ecoflow, being very surprised that they had no customer service in Europe. 8: The next day i got an answer that they recieved my supportticket. 9: Three days later, no answer. 10: I asked for an update. 11: Four or five days later no reply. 12: I asked for an update once again. 13: The day after i was asked to give some information, which i did. 14: Several days later no reply. 15: I then asked them again and i was asked for a video showing the error. people in hurricane or tornado or just rural areas with above ground power lines would be hard pressed to get by with one of these things. electricity can go out for days. so yeah 6 hours is ok for some glitch at the power plant. but you're gonna need that gas generator for anything longer than that. it would be pretty nice for a camping trip.
These will never replace a generator for me. They take too long to charge for how short they last, they can’t things that pull high power, and you have to have a power grid supply every few hours instead of just having gas, it’s also very heavy and bulky for what it is.
I would use this for very minimal things like phones or laptops but I'm sure down the line there will be better one's that will run like or just as well as a generator
Must have missed the solar panels, most small gas generators don't go 9ver 2500 watts anyways so the gap for high power draw devices is pretty small. Unintelligent stubborn fuds will probably keep wasting money on a generator that's half as efficient as this device. That's fine this isn't marketed for uninformed morons anyways.
This seems like it would super helpful to power a sump pump during an extended power outage. My basement hasn’t flooded lately *knock on wood* but a backup would be handy to have.
Your fridge test would have been more fair if you opened it for 5 minutes every so often to ensure its actually running. Once cooled down a fridge doesn't use too much energy to keep itself cool especially if its well insulated.
I’d like to see how this thing could handle something like a sound bar (while it’s playing music) while a portable solar panel from Amazon is charging the bank
I'm just here to point out that Tyler said it takes 1.6 hours to fast charge the generator. 1.6 hours is 100 minutes, meaning it would charge 1% per minute (in a perfect world/environment) When he set the timer for an hour, the generator was at 7%, when he came back, it was at 67%. Glad to see the claims are true and it isn't falsely advertised
Fast charging is good to get a quick battery charge but it also will die faster than the battery that was charged at a lower amp. Slower you charge a battery the longer it will take for it to die as well. Reason they give two options.
To me working on a construction site this seem like it would be super nice to have when we only have corded tool and can't get a cord to where we need to work and cant have a generator indoors
@@alekpo2000 I can understand that, however they have some with choke assist nowadays that helps a lot. Also, if that gas generator isn’t being properly maintained, then yes of course you’re gonna have issues starting it.
Also, no waiting 2 hours to recharge is another benefit of a gas generator. Until they make an electric generator that can passively charge while in use, gas generators will always be better. Maybe not environmentally speaking, then again wonder what happens to those massive batteries in these devices once they stop holding their charge….
For anyone wondering why you would want to charge SLOWER, its because charging slower preserves battery health better It doesnt matter for small devices like your phone on a daily basis, but after a few years, or with a capacity like this box, you'll feel it sooner
This company actually recommends to let the battery die all the way down to 0% before charging again to maintain battery life. It's similar to your phone's battery, too. I used to constantly have new batteries put in my phone until Samsung told me that Lithium batteries should be allowed to fully die before being put back on the charger. I have two of these batteries, and they are amazing. I also have 8 solar panels that keeps them charged during a power outage. I live in Mississippi, so we have quite a bit of tornadoes, hurricanes, and just bad weather in general, so power outages are frequent here. I definitely recommend!
Pro-Tip: After every 30 charges, allow your lithium based battery to completely discharge before recharging. This helps to avoid a condition called digital memory. Other than that I have always been told not to totally discharge lithium batteries unless absolutely necessary. keeping the battery between 30% and 75% is best as any higher or lower puts the battery under stress. ive always kept my phones between those two charges unless necessary and have had no issues at all.
then of course EcoFlow sells you a gas powered generator for $1400 so you can charge the $1000 battery powered Delta Mini backup in this video. Or, you could just spend $2400 for a whole home generator. The application you intend (e.g. 1-2 times per year if the power goes out), is not the same as battery shelf life. Battery shelf life isn't the same as fully charging and keeping it for emergencies. EcoFlow specifically instructs to discharge to 30% and then recharge to 60% ever 3-4 months. The specs on the Mini tested is 1400W with 1800W x-boost and 2100W surge max. Since electric space heaters are 1500W, you are correct that you wouldn't use an electric space heater with it. You stated devices (plural) while charging and passthrough. The manual notes use only ONE device while the Mini is being charged. The Mini's overload protection will either kick in or fail and burn up.
I never noticed until 9:40 'ish when we are in his kitchen how many bags he has under his eyes, he has bags on bags on bags lol. Buddy, you getting enough sleep?
I'd love to have this for emergencies and for just using in my shop. They sell the regular delta model refurbished for like $800ish. Not bad considering what it is.

Video idea see if multiple heat guns can start a fire, bend pvc, darken wood like how some people do it on furniture, etc and then also use a hair dryer to see if you actually need to spend the extra money on a heat gun
Tyler has a kitchen :-| Here in South Africa, we have blackouts aka Loadshedding 3 to 4 times a week for 2 hours at a time , twice a day, so that makes it 6 to 8 times a week! Our energy provider is corrupt!
I might get one of this just for the hell of it. Last year I bought a 5000 watt portable generator for appliances and lights and shit after that artic blast killed the texas power grid and we didnt have power for 4 days while it was -9 outside.
The only crappy thing about one of these is that for massive outages like the texas one, ONE of these I'd only really charge phones with and not anything else because you'd want to try to conserve as much as you could. I've thought about buying (when I get the money) multiple big ones to have for different things, like one for phones, one for lamps, one for flashlight chargers, etc etc.
@@CL-ty6wp i actually plan on getting some truck batteries and using my ups as a charge controller, tho for my server rack. it is a good way of doing it without spending a fortune
If it's suppose to replace a gas generator, i would not be using it to charge devices, would most likely be using it for constant draws? Seems like it's just a very large battery charger like those smaller ones designed for charging phones, especially since it is close to triple the price of a comparable gas generator but I guess it has it's place like if you have a lot of solar power or something
Or, you can hook up a car battery and an alternator then use an electric motor to spin the alternator. The whole system will power itself and all you need is a AC DC power invertor to have usable power.
@@Axis.Mundis. I’ve been trying to decide between the delta max and the delta pro all day. I don’t know if I’m ready to spend the money for the pro, but man it would be wonderful to work without having to listen to my gas generator run all day. Plus the solar panels are a nice add on. The ability to charge from EV stations is really handy as well. Most of the car dealerships that I service have these on the lot now.
That’s wierd for power to go out as frequently as it does for you man. Where I live the power only goes out once or twice a year for a couple of minutes and if it’s really bad then only for like 10 minutes
If your power goes out 3 - 4 times a year for a few hours, that’s a lot. I’ve lived in my house for 16 years and I’ve only lost power one time and that was during a hurricane.
It's gotten worse here in Maine. I think we lost power for hurricane bob and the ice storm of 98 growing up. These days its way more frequent. I'd say 2-3 times a year. Sometimes from just wind and other times its drunks taking out poles.
Not gonna lie. We all know sometimes Tyler’s videos can take a turn that makes you question his safety. I know what the title says but when I saw the thumbnail of this video I was kinda concerned.
That box has the appearance of a pretty low-end such battery box. These days, companies like Bluetti make much heavier-duty versions. Seems competent, though.
9:40 Tyler saying the power RARELY goes out, maybe 3 or 4 times a year for 3 to 4 hours... 😂😂 thats ALOT! In England it goes out maybe once for afew hours in 10 years

I'm just here to point out that Tyler said it takes 1.6 hours to fast charge the generator. 1.6 hours is 100 minutes, meaning it would charge 1% per minute (in a perfect world/environment)
When he set the timer for an hour, the generator was at 7%, when he came back, it was at 67%. Glad to see the claims are true and it isn't falsely advertised
plus it beat the timer so nice
This looks like something useful to have on hand
I would have to sell my kidneys to be able to afford it.
Also you know you are old when we still call those cigarette ports.
Fast charging is good to get a quick battery charge but it also will die faster than the battery that was charged at a lower amp. Slower you charge a battery the longer it will take for it to die as well. Reason they give two options.
They have a 3600 watt version. Impressive but for over $3600 seems like a pretty steep price compared to a generator you can get from Costco
To me working on a construction site this seem like it would be super nice to have when we only have corded tool and can't get a cord to where we need to work and cant have a generator indoors
eh i can never start the gas generator, end up pulling the rope 500 times in a row lol
For anyone wondering why you would want to charge SLOWER, its because charging slower preserves battery health better
It doesnt matter for small devices like your phone on a daily basis, but after a few years, or with a capacity like this box, you'll feel it sooner
the faster you charge the sooner youre gonna feel that battery dying. its part of why i hate that every charger now is a fast charger.
@@kasuraga I mean phones are made to be used
For most of us it's better to charge fast and then switch phones every few years.
These videos are the best keep up the great work!
Should have seen if you could use one while one charged with solar Panels see if you could sustain a power cycle that way
Does it maintain itself if plugged in 24 7?
then of course EcoFlow sells you a gas powered generator for $1400 so you can charge the $1000 battery powered Delta Mini backup in this video.
ROFL whole house generators cost over$15000 from buying and install.
Yay!! A Tyler Tube Video 😊
it would be good for charging drill batterys on the jobside so you could use the actual power for lights and heaters,,, etc
IDEA! Spring time convert it into a backpack and do yard work with electric mower, ETC.
Or Hover board or electronic scooter
I never noticed until 9:40 'ish when we are in his kitchen how many bags he has under his eyes, he has bags on bags on bags lol. Buddy, you getting enough sleep?
YAY! You're back.
Tyler has ... the POWERRRRR! :-D
Kinda looks like it could be a group 31 in a fancy case 😂
His kitchen light just added 20 years on him. Proof that youtube videos make you age faster
Good vid 👏
Was so happy to see this video notification pop up
I Love Tyler Tube Videos 😍
You're a good guy Tyler
I'd love to have this for emergencies and for just using in my shop. They sell the regular delta model refurbished for like $800ish. Not bad considering what it is.
I used to be subscribed to you and watched your videos all the time, just realized for some reason i got unsubscribed was wondering where the videos were lol, glad to be back
Video idea see if multiple heat guns can start a fire, bend pvc, darken wood like how some people do it on furniture, etc and then also use a hair dryer to see if you actually need to spend the extra money on a heat gun
Lol have you ever used a heat gun? They are an order of magnitude hotter than a hair dryer. Those 2 devices are definitely not interchangeable.
Tyler has a kitchen :-|
Here in South Africa, we have blackouts aka Loadshedding 3 to 4 times a week for 2 hours at a time , twice a day, so that makes it 6 to 8 times a week!
Thanks for sponcering his video!!!
Love the videos 😃 keep up the good work
The power doesn't really go out... Maybe 3-4 times a year? Here it's like once every 3-4 years.
I laughed too when hearing that. For me it's 3-4 every life.
I would love to have some battery backup systems like these but its just so expensive. over a grand for that one I believe.
car battery 100$, charge controller /maintainer 50$. Thats all you need.
@@sunryze3318 Deep cycle* i was trying to keep it less wordy.
@@sunryze3318 They are not lithion in video.
@@CL-ty6wp i actually plan on getting some truck batteries and using my ups as a charge controller, tho for my server rack. it is a good way of doing it without spending a fortune
Were you get the foldable solar panel
If it's suppose to replace a gas generator, i would not be using it to charge devices, would most likely be using it for constant draws? Seems like it's just a very large battery charger like those smaller ones designed for charging phones, especially since it is close to triple the price of a comparable gas generator but I guess it has it's place like if you have a lot of solar power or something
Or, you can hook up a car battery and an alternator then use an electric motor to spin the alternator. The whole system will power itself and all you need is a AC DC power invertor to have usable power.
Factory charge estimate was in a controlled environment. So where your located may have a higher voltage and cooler temps than factory.
It would be a good thing especially if it had a solar panel on to to recharge it
Hmmm, thought you might list the cost ranges.
Can it run a power strip with a tv and gaming systems in it ps4 and Xbox one
This can make coffee and also run a microwave. So yes. A tv and a game system is nothing
About $1,000 Depending on version if anyone is curious. Compared to a low end (harbor freight) gas Gen 9000w is like $800.
The cheapest one this company (Ecoflow) offers is around $250. They go all the way up to $3,700.
@@0115Heather I’m gonna get one.
Do you not have wind and trees in your area? Are you too far south for ice on the roads during winter?
@@justinbeath5169
I live in Massachusetts in the middle of the woods, next to a pond..
It's gotten worse here in Maine. I think we lost power for hurricane bob and the ice storm of 98 growing up. These days its way more frequent. I'd say 2-3 times a year. Sometimes from just wind and other times its drunks taking out poles.
Came home to a new tyler video lets go. 2/15/2022
Oh the kitchen. Forsy tome we aee the inside of the house. Now lets get a hoise tour
Should test charge degradation over time. Like if you charge it and store it until an emergency how often would you need to top it off
It last 1 year fully changed. Without losing battery % With the unit off.
Also 800 charge discharge cycles to 80% battery capacity left. That 2+ years draining it every day and still have 80% left
Not gonna lie. We all know sometimes Tyler’s videos can take a turn that makes you question his safety. I know what the title says but when I saw the thumbnail of this video I was kinda concerned.
Now this is a commercial!! Not the fake nonsense on TV!
Project Zomboid modders be like "Yeah....we need this in game for survival."
Tyler am I doing something wrong or can your merch not be shipped to the UK?
How long does it hold the charge in storage
And all of that good stuff.
Do you have a link to those solar panels?
That box has the appearance of a pretty low-end such battery box. These days, companies like Bluetti make much heavier-duty versions. Seems competent, though.
9:40 Tyler saying the power RARELY goes out, maybe 3 or 4 times a year for 3 to 4 hours... 😂😂 thats ALOT! In England it goes out maybe once for afew hours in 10 years
Love how you look like a raptor
It would be nice if that have a handle on it. Portable things always have a handle.
did you even glance at the video? it has TWO handles..
@@Got2bescene Guess they assumed sense there isn't a handle on top - then that means no handle... lol
